Pine: I see...so you can't exactly confirm if that is their base, but you did find a lot of information. I'm wondering why it is Team Shadow entered a colosseum tournament though. What exactly is their plan...? We will have to continue investigation. I don't have any specific requests at the moment, but if you ever do find the time, could you look to see if the Stone Shop in Sunbrine City is open? I get the feeling the girls may want to use it if it is.

Everyone regroups at the professor's lab.
Pine: Our study of the crystals you provided has been a huge success. We have determined how they help purify Pokemon. These crystals are the counterpart to another type of crystal. The Shadow Crystal. We were originally unsure where this kind of crystal could be, but then we discovered it. There was recently a strange crystal dug up in the desert. Exca Village has put it on display in their museum. Perhaps you could reason with them and get them to hand over the Shadow Crystal? Officer Shade, I would be glad if you could go with the kids as well. They need someone to help them convince the museum after all. I'm afraid I will continue to be busy with my work here at the lab. Are you all ready to go now?

Coilette, Carrie, and Shade all return safely from their mission and give Professor Pine the mysterious gem.
Pine: Ah, thank you both. With this, I should be able to get that investigation underway. Now I can finally figure out just what exactly this is. I have reason to believe that this gem is what they use to create the Shadow Pokemon. I am going to continue looking at this. I don't have any missions for you right now, but how about you go explore and level up your Pokemon a little? It never hurts to get a little training in. I heard that a colosseum has opened up in both Azure Town and also on an island just off the coast of Galleon Port. Maybe those are worth checking out.

The team returns to their base, speaking with Professor Pine.
Pine: Your timing is impeccable! Our research on the purity crystals is going along well. We believe that soon enough we should be able to make a portable watch that will purify Pokemon. It's not quite finished yet, but we do need your help with another matter. Professor Kukui is visiting from the Alola region! We need you to watch after him and make sure that he's kept safe from Team Shadow. We're worried they might try something while he's in town. When I told him you would be helping him, he mentioned preparing a gift...
Accepting your new assignment, you all head out to Flora Town to watch over and protect Professor Kukui.
