You all head into the strange portal to another world and find yourselves standing in the middle of a forest. There is a gigantic tree with an opening in front of you as well. "Welcome to The Great Tree! This place has a lot of Plant monsters in it. The big white tree in front of us is The Great Tree. The white woods over there also have some monsters in them that you can fight. Since this is your first lesson, I'll give you a very simple mission. I want you to collect ten of any material you'd like and come meet me in the first floor of The Great Tree. We have a small camp set up there. I suggest you hunt enemies in the white woods, but you can fight on the second floor of The Great Tree if you really want a challenge."

(Okay. Because you can go in whatever size party you like in this game and the NPCs will only join if you specifically ask for them. Otherwise they'll do it by themselves.)

"Nobody said you had to fight for them. Even if fighting is good experience for you. You can always find materials. The thing is most of these monsters are hostile and want to hurt us. Even if we didn't want to fight them, it's nearly inevitable. Besides, we need to fight some monsters to get materials so we can live here. If we never upgrade our equipment, we would all die when a big bad guy showed up. And for some reason the big bad guys are the ones the killer wants to feed the people to."

Fox creates a small, blue flame that chases Karl around and eventually hits him because that attack can't miss. Karl's hair is on fire now.
