Here's a few options.
The vessel class is sealed in the start and only unlocked after the eidolon fight.
A certain ability is locked. This reminds me of a game I played ling ago where there were these characters with god like powers, but they were limited because their strongest features were sealed. Examples: Mica can't fly, Kelly is incredibly unlucky instead of lucky, Infernus starts out weak instead of strong, Zana constantly feels cold (you'll choose what's sealed yourself, not me. And its purely for RP instead of gameplay.)
Only your limit break is sealed.

I expect you guys to keep track of your own inventories, so here are your starting inventories.
Warrior of Light
You get to keep everything except items from the old game, but add the word Shadow in front of it. Your equipment is now all covered in shadows somehow due to the Reversal World. It still looks like the same weapon and feels like the same weapon, but instead of its original appearance, it now looks like a silhouette of your weapon. Items are not going to be used in the Reversal World as an element of challenge. Your old inventories can be found in the archives.
As for Job Points, I'll allocate each manually since we had a different system last game. Look for your character's name to find out how many Job Points they have in each class.

New Characters
You get the most basic set of equipment that fits their class (leather/fur/bronze). So if you were a knight, you'd get a leather armor set, wooden shield, and bronze sword. It's pretty simple. Job Points are determined by parents, so I'll give you those as well, so look for your character. Also, remember that you get four classes to switch between, so you can choose any that say "Custom".

Is there any way to replace old class proficienies eventually? While Infernus is a sort of mixed attacker he leans a bit more towards the physical end of things, so having both Sage and Mage might work well for now but could start to be a bit less useful later on.

My suggestion is to learn Spellsword for your custom class so that you can use your magic as both physical and magical skills. But eventually, there will be an item that lets you switch out one of your classes. You'd lose the SP in that class and it's kind of expensive though.
Also, Infernus has naturally high magic stats thanks to his parents.

Hey Just can Paul be the merchant for the people in the normal world. Paul can take care of the supplies in this world (considering he was married to Ana and worked with her for the past 20 years or so).
