Diana pecks the buttons on the machine.
"Oh, Melody. Terra's a water mage."
Everything's still for several seconds, then a loud clacking noise rings out as one of the harnesses release. Part of the chain is freed and Melody drops a few feet before the chain goes taut again. The force of the stop sends pain shooting through Melody's arms and shoulders. The shock of the drop sends one of her sandals flying off. She watches it fall down, down, down... down...... It finally impacts the ground.
"Haha... Just two more mistakes and that's going to be you," the voice taunts. "Don't forget my offer, Diana. Now... I was going to make the next set harder, but you're already sweating..."
Question 4! What rat-shaped demon did Kira let out of a biology lab, then later defeat?

Of course, Digi could ask me to dial it back a bit if it's upsetting. Or he could ask me to crank it up... I guess...? |

"While you wait for the next answer, I have some news. I can't decide whether you're lucky or not, little Melody. Let's start with the good news. I've decided to give you one extra chance because that question was not perfectly phrased. It, perhaps, should have included a last name... I don't want there to be any possibility of you complaining about a lack of fairness as you fall to your death. No complaining, only the despair of watching your imminent demise drawing ever closer."
The chain begins to animate itself, magically retracting as it resets. The harness snaps shut on it. It seems Melody has three chances again. "You'll have to answer a replacement question, of course - and be warned it will be exceedingly difficult."
The voice shifts from disappointed to excited. "Now, for the bad news. Digi has requested more mutilation! How fun. Can you really trust him, I wonder? At any rate... Let's raise the stakes a bit, hm!? Just a bit, to start. Let's start with that other shoe..." Melody feels a ticklish sensation as some unseen force slowly wrestles off her other shoe.
"Next..." A heavy, weighted chain materializes around her ankles, stretching her downward.
"And last..." A panel of the tower folds out, forming a platform beneath Melody. It's just about where she ended up falling last time. A bed of spikes springs out from it.
"An odd request, I admit... But I'm happy to oblige, Digi. How's this? Too much? Too little?"

Melody shouts upwards, again."He said, DGJ. It was the story of Brown Jenkins, and Old Man who dabbled in witchcraft that Kira later fought. This June girl apparently sucks at magic, and Kira's first demon was named Gemma Tam Lin."
Melody sighs. I'd really enjoy some context for all these names and events... But I suppose it can't be helped...

(Actually, now that I think about it, both M and N are true. But I'm not going to be a dick and treat it as needing both answers like some trick question.) The voice groans. "All correct? Well, that's no fun. There's no way you can lose at this point. I may as well say you've passed the trial and let you go... is what I would have said if not for your 'friend' Digi. Perhaps your victory is guaranteed, but the thought of at least getting to stab you with a few spikes... Oh, sure, it wouldn't kill you, but your screams would make a wonderful consolation prize. And I want to give Digi a chance to make you suffer - he did ask me to worsen your suffering. Would he go so far as to purposefully answer incorrectly, just to enjoy your pain? More importantly, do you trust him...? "Hm... I was thinking of asking a ridiculously hard question, but instead... I will tell you the question, but only Digi will know the possible answers. Will you trust him, little Melody? Hahaha... Question 10. What should I do with Melody?" The voice fades so that Melody and Diana can no longer hear it. (A) Drop her onto the spikes
