Upon hearing the slightest of Tidus laughter, Cyrus clasps Francis' mouth shut with one hand. "No. God, no."

All Investigators
The lights dim and the music stops for a moment, before returning as a triumphant fanfare. The opening act begins, with acrobats coming dancing in, exotic animals everywhere, a clown blowing flames...
After a few minutes of over-stimulation, the performers start to trickle out until only a few remain. A trio of spotlights swirl around before combining around a lone figure standing in the center of the ring. She's a bit on the tall side, wearing a fancy tuxedo...like outfit. Her shoulder-length hair, black and curly, makes her look vaguely familiar...
Swaltzer Rickenduffle
Kind of like you'd imagine of Celandine's evil twin. Wait, is that Celandine...?
All Investigators
"Ladies! And! Gentlemen!" she yells. Despite a complete lack of voice amplification, her voice is clear and crisp, easily audible even above the dull roar of the crowd. "Welcome! To! The Guuuuu-raaaaaaaand! Finale! We hope you've had a wo-o-o-o-onderful day! But if you haven't, you're guaranteed to have a wo-o-o-o-onderful night!"
The show itself is very well put-together. There's quite a few talented performers. The acrobats are able to fling each other high enough to make you uncomfortable. The jugglers manage to get all manner of sharp and dangerous implements flying through the air. The animals are trained, and seem to posses an almost human-level intelligence. Even the clowns are skilled at getting their laughs with all manner of slapstick gags... though there certainly seems to be a really high proportion of sad clowns. It would be a bit unsettling, to say the least, if it weren't so happy and upbeat.
A man in a mask, tophat, cape, and carrying a cane comes out. He looks a bit familiar. Was he around earlier today? The mask makes it hard to tell. He swings his staff around and a burning ring of fire erupts around him. He does an impressive display of pyrotechnics, ending with covering himself in a wave of fire. The crowd gasps as he emerges, flicking the flames off his cape dramatically.
The ringmaster from earlier re-appears in center stage. Her outfit from before is replaced by black tights and a matching leotard, covered in sequins that sparkle under the glaring spotlight. "We hope you've enjoyed the show up to this point!" she calls in that same booming voice. "For our last act, I'll be taking the stage myself to demonstrate the wonders of the flying trapeze!" She gestures up to one of the poles supporting the tent. The spotlight blinks out of center stage with a loud clack, leaving the room dark for just a second.
Another light snaps on to highlight a platform several stories off the floor. The ringmaster...

Whoa! She's up there now! And in a different costume! That was really impressive...
Kayla Lyptus, Cyrus Thompson
A body-double of the ringmaster is already waiting up there.
Swaltzer Rickenduffle
That snow-white, curly hair... That's definitely Celandine. Though her pale blue dress has been replaced with a form-fitting, stark white leotard - bare-legged, in further contrast with the ringmaster. She's also got those same fake cat ears poking out of her hair.
All Investigators
The young woman smiles and waves widely to the crowd. Another spotlight pops on, revealing the ringmaster on the opposing platform. That... was actually impressively fast. Another trick.
The white-leotard goes first. She strikes a pose and grabs the trapeze bar, then suddenly flips herself around to hang by her legs. She swings out into the open, still waving to the crowd. At the end of her swing, she flips off the bar and over to the next, hoisting herself up to stand on the bar as it swings. She drops to a sitting position, kicking her legs and flashing another smile. She scans the crowd for a moment, then cutely blows a kiss towards the VIP booth.
The ringmaster grabs a bar and flies out herself. She leaps off, grabbing Celandine's legs to swing to the next bar. The monochrome pair do a few more flips and tricks, easily passing each other along the swinging bars in perfect synchronicity. As the music crescendos, Celandine leaps towards her partner's arms... and misses. The music stops and the crowd gasps as they realize what's happened. Celandine starts falling towards the ground... She's going to miss the safety net...!
The pyro-magician runs forward and raises his cane, pointing at the falling performer. Her figure is obscured as she bursts into a fireball, and the crowd's gasp becomes a panicked scream.
The fireball is suddenly extinguished by a pair of feathery white wings unfurling from around Celandine. She flaps several times, slowing and narrowly avoiding the ground. She flies lie over the crowd, doing a few laps around the arena. The back of her leotard is gone - they look like they're actually sprouting from her back.

You... don't see a wire. This... is an impressive trick. You think back to earlier... Er... This is a trick, right?
All Investigators
Celandine eventually slows near the VIP section. She grins down at someone. Still several feet in the air, she folds her wings down, and they somehow reform the missing back of her leotard - a really impressive trick that a lot of people don't notice as she drops.
Swaltzer Rickenduffle

Celandine is on target to drop right into Swaltzer's lap, but rather than just let her fall, he leaps up and catches her dramatically.
"...Oh?" she says, a bit surprised. She tosses her arm over your shoulder and turns to face the rest of the crowd. She gives them one last wave and bright smile as you stand in the spotlight. She turns back and gives you another kiss on the cheek as the crowd erupts in a cheer.
All Investigators
The spotlight on the suit-wearing man (who wears a suit to a circus!?) and sheet head flickers out, and reappears on center stage again. The ringmaster gives everyone another wave. "Goodnight, everyone! Be careful on the way home!"
The house lights come back on and a softer theme starts playing. Looks like the show's over, but most of the people from before are still milling about. Even that magician and ringmaster are speaking to random people. You could go speak with someone before heading home.
Swaltzer Rickenduffle
"Hehe... Nice catch. You'd be surprised how many people leap out of the way or something and I miss entirely. Oof." Celandine's still lounging in your arms. You're starting to get a bit tired. "I hope I didn't surprise you too much. I always like to pick an assistant just before the show. Not a bad thank-you for that cute little doll, hm?"

(I might have ticked off Justice Character and Creeper out Kayla. Umm I am just going to have her sit in her seat for now unless someone is brave enough to talk to her.)

(You can also go hang out with an NPC. Other than Kitty. I can't think of any reason Kitty wouldn't have peaced out.)

Kayla will try to spot the scientist amongst the crowd, see if SHE seems interested by any of the performers.
She won't approach her though, she just want to see if she can spot the scientist talking to a performer.

Kayla Lyptus
You look around for the scientist lady. It doesn't take long to find her, she sticks out like a sore thumb. You can see her all the way from your seat. She's down in the ring, speaking with one of the performers. The magician with all the fire. It looks like she's handing him something - it almost looks like they're exchanging business cards? Interesting. Then you notice that guy with the phone and the scowl from before is walking over to talk to them - the scientist lady gives him a... seemingly flirtatious wave? Also interesting.
Cyrus Thompson
As you head over to the magician, you pass by that creepy scientist lady. Not the one a bit creepy in an overly-friendly way, the one creepy in a mad-scientist sort of way. It looks like she was also interested in him. She raises her hand and wags her fingers in what you think is supposed to be a sign of greeting before she slinks off.
You introduce yourself to the magician.

"Drunken Ferret, hm? Hm...?" He twirls his can and taps it against his top hat thoughtfully for a moment. "Ah-ha!" He flips the hat off and a flier falls out. He snatches it in midair. "Yes, I knew I'd heard of it." He flicks his wrist and the flier bursts into flame, only for him to produce a second flier from under his cape.
You tell him those tricks were rather impressive, and ask if he could explain them to you.
"I cannot, I'm afraid!" he holds his cane between his hands and seems to smash it flat in a burst of flame. "Magician rule number 1, you know. We only pass our tricks on to our apprentices - and even then, we always keep a few up our sleeve." He flicks his arm and another cane flies out of his sleeve and into his hand. He twirls it and taps it against his hat. A few of the other people standing around give him a small applause. You can feel him giving you a cheeky smile under his mask.
Francis McStein
You wander around looking for that private investigator - the Australian-looking one, not the grumpy one - or the police officer. You happen to bump into the both of them just a bit outside the tent. The investigator seems to be in trouble? The police officer's wagging her finger at him and saying...
Francis' Listen check: 76/25 - Failure
Something. Hm. You could jump in, but it may be wise to let this one go.
Swaltzer Rickenduffle
"I know, right!?" Celandine says cheerfully. "I'm so super-proud of my sister for putting all this together! Our circus was on the verge of collapsing when she took over from the old ringmaster - not even a year later, and we're one of the most renowned in the country! She's pretty amazing, right?"
Swaltzer's CON check: 26/11x5 - Strong Success
You realize you're still holding her, but you're not even feeling tired. She doesn't seem to mind, either, as she holds an arm around your neck and innocently kicks her feet.

"Sounds like an interesting offer. If I was your apprentice, would you show me how that works?"
Not sure if I have to roll again or not. If I do, just roll whatever seems appropriate.
