Wow, I really was half asleep when I wrote that. I went back and proofread it (briefly), should be a little tighter now.

Episode 11: Swimming
”It was incredible! Does it feel like that when you're with Connie? Can I fuse with the other gems, too?” Full of adrenaline and excitement leftover from having fused into a dancing quarter-alien superhuman had Logan in quite a mood. He was even keen to do it again, even though he didn't have time at the moment.
“No, that's the thing! It felt totally different – Herkimer Diamond is nothing like Stevonnie! She's like, all muscular and thick, and it feels like we're really clomping around all fast. With Connie, it's more smooth – I think it's 'cause she's so smart!” Steven was quite obviously super pleased to have found another human to relate to in this way, admitting, “It's... a no on the other Gems thing, sorry. My mom and dad tried to fuse over the years, but it just couldn't be. Pretty sure the reason we can is because I'm half human.” As he said this, those cute chubby cheeks glowed a little.
Seeing that the half thing wasn't exactly something the kid was sure would be perceived well, Logan went into reassurance mode. “Well, number one, you're not half human, you're all human!” Pointing to where the pink crystal was on the kid's belly, the gray haired pilot added, “And that's a whole gem, right? It's not like, a half cut or anything.”
“I think so. Like I told you, it was my mom's.” Steve nodded, glancing over to the kitchen. Kid was probably hungry or something, Logan surmised.
“Steven, that makes you one hundred percent human and one hundred percent gem! That is two hundred percent!” Slapping the boy on the back, Logan started making his way toward the exit. “Keep that in mind, and keep out of trouble, okay?”
“I-”
As Steven answered, the warp pad lit up, revealing the remarkable Crystal Gem known as Garnet. Standing taller than Logan quite clearly even at a distance, she quietly and quickly strode over towards the pair of humans before the Ambassador could really get a chance to pretend he hadn't seen her and leave. “Hello, Ambassador.”
“Hi Garnet, I was just gonna-”
“Whatcha been up to?” The words came out of her mouth slowly but steadily.
Breathing deep in the semi-salty indoor air, Logan admitted the truth freely. “I asked Steven to fuse with me, so we did, and went on a mission together in Japan. We used the warp pad. I apologize if that was too risky, but it was quite important, and he performed admirably.”
Staring from behind her stylish visor, the wide-hipped bundle of invincibility shook her head. “I'm not mad, Logan. All consentual Fusion is to be respected and admired, even if it was done for an ulterior purpose. What was he like?”
Steven U answered the question. “It was a she! She was really tall – bigger than me or Logan by a lot, and her weapon was a big square shield! Garnet, she was dancing, and floating around, and it was the best! I almost liked it as much as being Stevonnie!”
Pulling the wee one into a hug, Garnet softened her expression into a sincere-looking smile. “High praise. You should hear the way he talks about her.”
“I bet it's all the sweetest things.” Logan finally felt at ease speaking with the imposing alien, as if the ice had been broken by his experience as Herkimer Diamond. “Of course, I bet he only tells how big his crush on Connie really is to his special talking mirror!”
“Heh. Probably... Wait, talking mirror? Greg get you a new toy, you spoiled boy?” Garnet picked Steve up and held him as his legs dangled.
“No, it's just this thing Pearl gave me. She said it was an encyclone of Gem history, but all it does is talk using words it records.”
“It's pretty clever, too! Really combines those words in smart ways. Gem gadgets never cease to amaze me!” Logan really did admire the creative things they made, like that and the Laser Light Cannon.
“Steven, may I see it?” The gentle, motherly tone Garnet adopted as she put her favorite kid down on the floor was quite a shift from what the diplopilot had seen of her in the past.
“Sure!” Le Boy ran up the stairs to his 'room', which was really just the elevated area to the left of the door. As he grasped the object off his bedside table, it instantly started speaking.
“Hi, Steven!” Both of these words were spoken with his own voice and face.
“Mirror, today you're gonna meet Garnet!”
“No!” said the mirror-Steven, drawing out the 'o' sound.
“Aww, it won't be too bad. Here, she's super nice and she's square mom and she loves me and-”
“No! Hate Garnet!” said the mirror, using Ronaldo's versions of the words 'hate' and 'Garnet' from their conversation.
“Heh. Doesn't sound too promising. Well, Garnet, until we meet again.” He waved before making for the door, as it was past time to leave. He'd been distracted by the charm of that kid.
“No! Ambassador help!” The mirror yelped, using Logan's voice for the prior two words but sticking with Steven's drawn out 'no'.
“Sorry, Mirror! Don't be shy, Garnet is great!” Logan meant it too! He really admired the alien gems after his experience being part of one of them.
“No! Garnet danger!” Same no as ever, new Garnet, new word. Both of which were Logan himself, looking at him. His own voice gave him pause once again, before it also said, “Amethyst danger! Pearl danger!”, using Steven's voice for the gem names but Logan's for that same pathetic 'danger' that he had uttered as he awkwardly apologized for cannonballing Stevonnie.
“Steven, give me that.” Garnet sounded a little more forceful, and extended her hand.
“Uh, I dunno. It seems upset. Mirror, what's wrong?” Steven asked it.
“Crystal Gems monsters bad danger! New friends -go- Beach!” Okay, that was a doozie. Ronaldo's 'Crystal Gems', Logan's 'monsters', Steven's 'bad', Logan's 'danger'. Logan and Steven saying 'new friends' from their toast played simultaneously, 'go' from 'going taken from that Jamiroquai song that Steven and Logan successfully danced to, and 'Beach' from Ronaldo.
“Steven, give that to me now. It's obviously broken and spouting nonsense.” Garnet was starting to sound ice cold.
Choice Time!
>Logan walked out the door. This wasn't anything he needed to get involved with, and he absolutely had to get to Newark as fast as possible.
>Logan ushered Steven and the mirror out of the house. This was sounding a little bit weird, and it might be wise to hear this mirror out. The beach would be a fine place for it.
>Logan agreed with Garnet. This mirror had lost its charm. The illusion was broken – it couldn't really talk, just repeat things that might sound like sentences. He'd urge Steven to hand it over and then head out.

I'm pretty sure that mirror's holding an apocalyptic-level monster for... some reason.
Let's make friends with it. Take it for a walk on the beach.

Either sealed in there by someone who couldn't kill it or using the mirror to watch on from another dimension while it learns about us? The latter would certainly explain why the only way it can talk is through mimicry. Anyways, I agree with Loop here. We've got places to be and information to tell people who probably shouldn't know but who we're going to tell anyways because "they'll find out eventually" is now a valid reason for not even trying to keep a secret (yes, I'm still salty about that vote).

I find it really odd that the mirror started freaking out when Garnet showed up. Also it seems like it got something urgent to say. So umm second option.

Either sealed in there by someone who couldn't kill it or using the mirror to watch on from another dimension while it learns about us? The first one. Again, I don't watch the show and also it's SRW so who knows what's really in there, but I think she's messed up because she was damaged before being sealed or something? Yes. Yes, it is. Better to get on trouble for what you did than what you did and lying about it.

Steven's Home
It was time to make a move out of the adorable beach house – he'd spent too long, and the truth was that he could probably spend a lifetime getting involved with the Crystal Gems and their magical action. The line had to be drawn there. “Steven, I'm gonna head out. Take care of everyone.”
“See you soon, Logan. Next time we'll speak a bit more in-depth about fusion,” said Garnet who seemed relieved to not have him there for the scene that was playing out.
“Uh, really? I-” Steven started speaking, but was cut off by the mirror on full blast.
“No! Ambassador help! Help help help help take care of everyone Logan-” was as far as the UA pilot heard before the door shut and it became unintelligible.
“Whatever's going on in there can't be my problem.” He said this out loud as he walked back towards the town proper to make sure he agreed with the sentiment.
Running to U-Stor-It
“Shitshitshitshitshit!” Out of air from having sprinted the moment he saw 'it', Logan dashed as far as his naturally-thick calves could carry him. The thought that Herkimer Diamond could have covered the distance in mere moments was just one of the negative thought trees that had taken hold on him. The others were along the lines of 'why are they here' and 'have I fucked up by taking too long?'. After all, there was an Action Frame Carrier flying above Beach City. Gunmetal gray and full of tanky muscle, it have been a welcome sight any day but one on which Logan had gone against protocol, and the shadow it cast was, to him, foreboding.
As he finally reached his robot and its platform, he was greeted by Sonya. For the first time ever, she was actually wearing the standard-issue white jumpsuit that had been sent for her, and she was staring up at the floating behemoth. Considering that she was looking more professional than he had ever seen her before, Logan thought it was quite a nice look. “That thing is here for us, right? This is your guys, right?”
“It's... It's my guys, yeah!” Thinking of this fact reassured Logan a little, and he embraced Sonya briefly face-to-face. “I know I took too long. If there's any trouble, the heat's all mine.” The two leaned in for a brief but tasty kiss, and she nodded solemnly.
“Do I get to ask where you were?” asked the engineer as she stepped onto the small elevator with her friend.
“Yes. I fused with Steven and went to Japan to save Shinji.”
“Instead of going to Newark and saving a city under attack by a small army of mecha?”
“Yes.”
“...Even after Shinji left?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. I will say though, that thing has been flying there since I arrived here when you told me to get the W-E ready.”
Logan opened the hatch as quickly as possible, and the two humans entered the all-white cockpit.
“Welcome, sir.” Adam was the same as ever.
“Hi Adam, let's get on our way to Newark then, shall we?” Logan smiled widely as he strapped himself into his seat.
“Yes, sir. Prepare to be pulled aboard.”
“Oh god, does this thing have a tractor beam?” Sonya sounded like she might pee her pants if he said yes.
A rough clunking sound on the exterior of the machine suggested that no, they did not. Confirmation of this fact was provided by the Wonderchild's many cameras, which indicated that they had been grappled by a claw machine-like device. From there, the eighteen meter tall mecha began ascending to the sky above Beach City, towards the carrier of weapons. For the AFC was far grander than the Wonderchild, being made to carry multiple units of similar scale to what the Ambassador was packing.
“I kind of like the pull cables. Must be like when Steven gets picked up by Garnet. Just hanging in the wind, like laundry.” Logan had done this procedure before, but it had been quite some time since he had even been near this carrier. “It's weird, though – I've gotten used to having full control over this boy.”
“The Wonderchild's a boy? So you go in him?” Sonya winked coquettishly as she held onto Logan's seat for stability.
“All the time, yep. Feels good.”
As they were about midway to the Action Frame Carrier, a face came on the screen in front of him. Twas the very last person he'd expected to see when he woke up that day.
“Ambassador,” said the tall, thickly built blonde woman in front of him.
“General Keith! It's an honor!” Nodding deeply but not quite bowing, he pleasantly keep his eyes on the stone-faced brass in front of him. She really was a sight to behold in Logan's eyes, as her outfit was much like his but far fancier and more decorated.
“I'd come here to say much the same to you, but it's disappointing to see your lack of punctuality in this incident. Do you not understand the gravity of the situation in Newark?”
“I assume there are units capable of leveling much of the city if unopposed.” Logan wasn't smiling anymore.
“That's correct. Thankfully, they are opposed, but it would be much better if you were on the way by now. Was Ms. Ortiz distracting you?” She'd furrowed her brow after briefly glancing at the girl behind him in the cramped cockpit, and had a neutral looking expression that was tough for Logan to read.
“No. I can assure you, I had very good reason for delaying my departure.” Logan actually gulped as he said this, knowing that having made the commitment to discuss this was still probably the best option.
“Such a reason would be illuminating, at the very least.” The General was ice cold, but if Logan was honest with himself he was kind of liking that part.
“In light of the Eruption and its effects on the nation of Japan, specifically Tokyo-3, I considered it of vital importance that our former allies at NERV receive some form of aid.” Logan tried to speak fast enough to not be interrupted, but was unsuccessful.
“What aid were you able to provide from Delmarva?” A simple question, but carrying further implications.
“I was able to leave Delmarva and head directly to Tokyo-3, specifically by way of Mount Fuji. This was accomplished by fusing with the individual known as Steven Universe.”
“Fusing? Clarify that, please.” The polite but distant woman sounded somewhat interested for a change.
“Through the use of dance and Steven's magic powers, I was able to merge with the boy into one singular being. From there, I was able to use some of their magical technology to travel to Japan and physically aid the Evangelions in their battle against the Angels.”
“Was the battle successful?” The general seemed like her interest was doubly piqued.
“Yes.”
“Okay.” That was the last thing she said before her feed cut out.
United Arms Holding Cell (Aboard the Carrier)
Logan sat alone in a four-cornered room, with naught but a single table with a chair at it. The look of the place was much like his cockput but less fancy and high tech, and really all the walls contained were the door that he'd been ushered through, and the speaker above it. Ah, the speaker. As he understood, they were likely to ask him questions if this was the process he thought it might be. He was aware of its use, and how effective the depersonalization of talking to a speaker was at making sympathy seem out of reach.
“Well, I'd hoped this would go a little better,” he admitted.
Choice Time!
>Logan clammed up. He wasn't going to speak to anyone without a lawyer. This wouldn't win him any points with the UA, that's for sure.
>Logan spoke freely. He would be prepared to answer their questions honestly.
>Logan got ready to lie his ass off and tell the Arms what he thought they'd want to hear.
