Crow
You wake up in some sort of bed of hay. You don't remember being here before. Something is staring at you. It's some sort of orange and yellow mouse creature. It has brown paws and a long tail with a lightning bolt shape on the end. "You're awake! I was starting to worry you might be dead." The mouse creature talked. Last you checked, that was unusual. "I found you knocked out in the plains and thought I'd take you here before the fog rolled in. It's weird that this abandoned tree house was so conveniently placed. I actually don't remember seeing it here before. Oh, also, that lady was with you." The mouse creature points to someone that you definitely recognize as Terra. She seems to be knocked out in bed like you were.
The mouse creature helps you stand up and you get a better look of the tree house. It's pretty basic. There's a few hay beds, running water somehow, electricity apparently as you notice that there's a light in the ceiling, and two windows looking out at the world. One gives you a view of what looks like some sort of canyon in the distance and the other a vast forest also in the distance. It looks like it's pretty sunny outside. There's a nice stash of apples in a basket placed on a small table nearby. They look freshly picked. You can assume they're probably from the mouse creature. Maybe he was picking apples when he found you. You find a trap door in the floor that leads to a ladder you can climb down to get to the plains from the tree. One more thing you notice is some odd altar sitting off in the corner of the room as if it was simply being stored here.
The mouse creature watches as you look around. "I don't think anyone lives here, so you can stay as long as you want. Oh, my name is Sparky, by the way. What's yours?"

"Crow! Crow! Crow!" Crow crows.
Crow hops up onto Terra's shoulder and gives her a sharp peck on the ear to wake her up, then hops up on the altar and look at Spark questioningly.

(Note: You control Terra since she is your assist.)
You manage to wake up Terra fairly easily by pecking her ear. Sparky then responds to your questioning look. "I don't really know what that is. It's just sort of been sitting there. But it does have some weird writing on it. Look." Sparky points out some sort of cryptic message.
"Only the sage with blue wings can open the way forward. Bring her here to find the one with the brush."

Crow heads over to the trapdoor and starts excitedly hopping up and down on it.
Terra rubs her ear. "Ow. Annoying little... Wait, where's my book? Whe- Oh, good. It's... Wait, 4th edition!? This isn't... Ah, whatever. Maybe the library will still accept it."
Crow continues bouncing on the trapdoor.
Terra ignores him and turns to Sparky. "Um... Hello. What... exactly are you?"
Crow gets tired of waiting and flies out the window to do a few laps around the hill and see what's in the immediate area.

"Me? I'm just a Raichu! I found you both knocked out and brought you here so you would be safe."
You fly out the window and do a quick lap around the treehouse on the hill, getting a look at everything nearby. The plains here are large and vast. They're also very sunshiney and pretty. You can see a whole lot of things built by the fields, although they're rather far off from where you are right now. There's a rocky canyon to the west of here and you're pretty sure you see a dragon flying over it. To the east of here, you see a large forest that's almost split in two. Part of the forest looks like the trees are dying in a thick fog and the other part of the forest looks lush and magical. To the north, you see a large castle and a big town built around it and a large wall. To the south, you see another castle, but this one is shrouded in darkness with ominous clouds looming over it and a huge lava moat around it. In fact, you're pretty sure the entire castle is built on a volcano. You also see what looks like a nomadic tribe moving their way across the plains with two giant lions moving along with them. One is green and the other is blue.

Presumably the castles and forests and town and canyon aren't going anywhere, so let's start with the nomads.
Crow flies back to the windowsill and chirps obnoxiously until Terra goes to look out.
"Huh? What, you want to go talk to them? Then go talk to them," Terra says.
Crow hops on the trapdoor a bit more.
"Ugh. Fine, you pain-in-the-ass. Let's go." Terra starts opening the hatch and climbing down, then waits. "Do you want to come, too... er... Sparky?"

"I can go with you if you want. I don't really have anything that I'm doing, but I do need to get back to Castle Town at some point today. Before the fog sets in."

"Castle Town?" Terra says excitedly, halfway down the ladder. "That sounds like a much better use of our time than some caravan."
Crow lands on her head. "No! Mad!"
"Fine!" Terra yells, swatting him away. "Tch. So I guess we'll go speak with the nomads, then take you back to the Castle Town, then... er... what's this about fog?"

"At night, the fog from the Morikiri Forest floods into the plains. Not only is the fog poisonous, but lots of dangerous and powerful monsters come with it. So it's usually best to find somewhere safe to hide until it passes. Usually anywhere with light is good. So this place is safe and so are the large towns. Just don't get caught in the field at night all alone. It's really dangerous."

"That's... how does that work?" Terra asks. "I guess if light repels it, it makes sense that the plains would be safe during the day... but then why wouldn't the forest... No, y'know what? Magic. That's fine. Let's go. Coming, Sparky? Or do you want to wait around here and us pick you up on the way back?"
"Sparkster! Sparkster!" Crow calls out.

"I'm coming." Sparky picks up one of the apples and heads off on his way with the two of you down the ladder.

Crow
You return to your home at Happy Tree Hill, finding something sitting on a table in there, waiting for you. There's a little basket with three apples inside. A note is attached. It looks like Sparky dropped these off while he was on his way to Dragon Canyon. You notice something else.
You get the feeling someone is watching you. There's evidence of someone other than Sparky having been here. Muddy footprints on the ground. This...can't be good.

Flat-soled? Probably Samus. Though this would be kind of sloppy for a professional bounty hunter, or a distraction...
Terra would be one flat-sole, one bare foot...
I don't know what Waite or Daryl was wearing, Rena wouldn't know where this is... Could be someone randomly wandered in. Probably after the fight, since that's the only rain I remember. And this isn't exactly far. Possibly a survivor, no reason to assume they're hostile.
Are the prints even human? How fresh?

You consider the thought of this being perhaps a distraction if the footprints did belong to Samus. The footprints do seem to be from a human at the least. Or something that wears some kind of shoes. It looks like these footprints have been here for a while. Likely from the rain during the battle. You also recall hearing about the hostile sphere user along with rumors of bounty hunters chasing down sphere users. Perhaps this isn't from Samus but someone else. The feeling of being watched persists...

Crow will telegrab an apple and teletoss it in the air a few times. "Ya'll hungry?" Southern hospitality and all.
