You head over to the cafe and go inside. Inside, you see a dude with sunglasses drinking a cup of coffee and a guy wearing headphones sitting there on his phone. You also see a girl reading a book at a table. The cafe seems to be run by a bird dude. He's some kind of...pigeon?

(Now that I look at this again, WHY DID I PICK AMY?!?!?!)
Let's cough up some money from Golden Mimic. Awkward will order scalding hot coffee and take it to go, chugging it along the way and sitting next to the guy with headphones (if the two dudes are sitting together, just sit near both of em) and giving a simple "...Yo." Amy will order something a little more sensible and sit across the girl with the book.
Amy: "That looks like a neat book. Whatcha reading?"

You shake some coins out of Golden Mimic and order scalding hot coffee. The pigeon running the cafe seems to approve of your choice and gets you a cup of hot coffee. You then sit next to the guy with headphones and say yo. He glances up at you, but doesn't say much in response, continuing to scroll through something on his phone. You take a big gulp of hot coffee, burning your entire mouth.
Amy then orders something that won't scald her and sits down next to the girl with the book. "It's a magic tome." She flips one of the pages and continues to read.

"Make things go boom." She holds up a hand and Amy sees a little ball of dark energy materialize before disappearing.

Awkward: "Hmm. Good for you." Well, it'd be too much work to mug this dude in a cafe, so... Just chill out. Actually, let's finish up our coffee and nonchalantly get the Advanced Fighting Techniques Book from our sphere, see if our sphere triggers some reaction. Start reading the book while casually throwing and catching the sphere with one hand.
Amy: "Oh, so you're only a scholar at the moment? Seems like a shame. Even your current magic abilities could be useful to a lot of people, you know?"

You casually toss the sphere up and down, watching for a reaction. Nope, there doesn't seem to be any. You do notice, however, that the storm is dying down a bit. The rain isn't as heavy as before and the thunder stopped.
"Yeah, probably." She flips through another page.

Hmm. That's sorta a good thing. Get up, give Zyl a "Thanks for your time", and order another blazing hot coffee at the bar. Gulp it all down cuz we're gonna need a LOT of caffeine to kill a lot of people.
Amy: "...W-Well, are you looking for a job? We could use someone with your magical abilities, and we're willing to pay well!" Call Golden Mimic over and show off the cash we got.
