You start looking at kitty pictures when you seem to hear a tome on Delia's shelf calling out to you. You reach out and examine it. Delia notices you looking and wanders over. "Huh? Oh, that's just a basic magic tome. Don't bother trying to use the magic or anything, that's nonsense. But let me explain how I was able to adapt these principles into science... Let's use this as an example."
Delia spends a few minutes explaining the principles of a simple fire magic spell while you wait. You feel as if you probably learned something important...

A few minutes later, Kayla knocks at the lab door. Delia lets her in. Her lab's filled with a bunch of strange books and devices. "Oh, great. Is she the last one we were waiting on...? ...Why were we waiting for... Oh, right. The dream thing." She pulls out a little black book and flips through a few pages. "Right, right. I got stuff from Cyrus before. OK, you two. Let me start by getting a few baseline readings and we can get started." She brings out a pair of machines with electrical leads. "Just gonna stick these on you for a few minutes while I make the last few adjustments. So, tell me all about the 'snake' you saw." She pauses to make overly dramatic air quotes around "snake."

The snake isn't important though. As far as I know, it might have truly been not real.
What's important is the gun I brought back from that dream, cause that gun is confirmed to be real."

Well it was big, black, and super squeezy. I ended up waking up with a bruise around my chest.
I didn't have the bruise when I woke up and I doubt blankets could cause such a defined bruise.

Delia nods at Kayla and scribbles some stuff in her notebook. "Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Do you have it? I'd like to examine it."
Her face lights up at Francis. "Another injury!? Let me see! Shirt off, now! Off, off, off!" She starts digging around a desk, pulling out rulers, calipers, and a camera, as well as some other things. "Oh, and you, too, other one. You can go ahead and stick the leads on yourself."

Delia obviously rolls her eyes. "They're for shocking people who ask stupid, annoying questions," she says, voice dripping with sarcasm. "Huh... y'know, that's actually not a bad idea for a new feature... It's just a modified electrocardiogram." She goes back to excitedly ogling Francis. "So anyway, tell me all about the snake. How big was it? What did it feel like? Was it warm or cold? Slimy or dry? Smooth or rough skin? Warm-blooded? Cold-blooded? Slit eyes or round pupils? How much crushing force?"
