Kayla stands up, looks around, pull her revolver out and starts trying to spot a landmark she would recognize from last time she was here. She wants to find the dead officer.

Kayla and Francis
Kayla attempts to find a landmark or anything that looks familiar, but it's impossible. This place was just too foggy that night, none of the distant hills and mountains and fields of flowers - oh, those flowers are actually really pretty - look the least bit familiar.
While you look around, you suddenly hear a loud snapping sound.
The portal home is gone.
Cyrus
The portal continues to expand as he asks Delia if it will stop.
"Um... Maybe? Probably. This machine's what's sustaining it. Theoretically. I guess we should test that." She taps a few buttons on her machine and the portal very quickly collapses in on itself with an audible snap.

I was in the middle of a date when Cyrus dragged me over here. Heck if I knew what we were doing.
But while we are here might as well make the best of it. Besides who can say they ever been inside a dream world and not been asleep. Who knows what wonders can be found? Or what we can do in the name of science here.
So Kay Kay you ready to do some exploring or you could just sit around here and do nothing your choice

"Huh? Oh, it'll stop growing eventually because this machine can only handle so much electricity. Probably, like... 4ft diameter or so?" Delia clacks on the keyboard a few times and the portal begins to re-form.
Kayla and Francis
Francis gets distracted from her plan to go running to the flowers and instead consoles Kayla. The air begins to shimmer again a few feet away from where the original portal opened. A new gate starts to form.
