Orus launches the ship higher as Joanna grabs Hunter and carries him off. He shoots a pair of blades at the balloons as they fall... And nothing happens. They bounce off, leaving only a small leak. Did you think they wouldn't make sure something so important wouldn't be extremely durable?
They aren't, however, durable enough to survive a direct missile impact. The balloons explode violently. The ship floats in the air for a few seconds, seeming to sail along until the captain looks down over the railing... at which point it goes hurtling down and smashes into pieces against the water surface.
The other ship retreats, badly damaged.
"Argh! We be the most dangerous thing in the sea, ya louts!" the captain calls after them. "Bwa-ha-ha! Onward, to the Dread Dragon's Isle!" MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

The ship aground on the shore of an uncharted desert isle. The captain and NPCs begin unloading supplies from the hold. "We'll make a base camp up in them trees ahead." She jerks a thumb towards a huge forest. Hunters, you lot go check it out. Find us a nice place t' set up."

Alright. Joanne will lead the group with Hunter staying towards the back, keeping an eye out for things.

Joanne leads the way. They find an easy trail through the forest and follow it. The party soon finds a large set of stone-floored ruins with crumbling, vine-covered pillars and a few short ledges. On the one hand, it looks like a great place to set camp - on the trail, easy to access, good view of the surrounding area, and a trail leading deeper into the island on the far side. On the other hand, it looks suspiciously like a battle arena.
As if on cue, there's a roar as a giant monster seems to materialize from the path ahead. It stands upright on two powerful legs, and has a pair of short, stubby arms. Its head is massive, housing a set of intimidating fangs. Its tail whips back and forth, glowing bright red.

Huh. Alright, this should be simple enough. Joanne will hookshot the Glavenus' side while zapping it, hopping up on its back. Take aim at the head with Crossbones and fire as many times as possible before getting thrown off. Abubis will keep Glavenus distracted, running in to smack it upside the head with his axe before focusing on blocking attacks. Hunter will climb up one of the arena walls and fire blades from up there at Glavenus' tail. Orus will provide support arrow fire at the tail.

Joanne grapples Mr. Dino and swings up onto his back while sending electric shocks into its side. Orus and Hunter move into position while it's distracted, while Anubis runs in to smack it in the head.
Joanne opens fire on it as it thrashes about, trying to throw her off. Anubis smacks it in the head while it's distracted, and it falls over. Joanne's tossed off by the impact, but the thing seems to be stunned and just wriggling on the ground. Anubis smashes it a few more times, while Hunter attempts to sever the tail. Orus shoots its tail a few times, as well. The creature taggers to its feet and lets out an enraged roar. It stares at Joanne, takes an aggressive stance, and bites its tail.
Something slithers out of the woods to the east. It's a giant cat-fox-snake!
It seems to be blowing bubbles and gliding along the slippery trail. It sees the fighting and seems like it's decided to join in.
Joanne has some minor injuries from the fall. Blade Butt is seriously injured and enraged.

I see. So this is where the difficulty is meant to come from. Hunter, go deal with that bubble dragon.
Hunter will pop the bubbles with his blades and focus on keeping the enemy busy with quick blade shots while evading attacks.
Joanne will hop up onto her feet and taunt blade butt, giving it a motion with her hand as if to say "Bring it!" She'll wait for it to try and hit her with its tail and use the hookshot to fly up to the top of the arena walls to evade. Anubis will take the chance after it tries to attack to chop the tail off with his axe. Then Orus will fly down, shifting his bow into dual hunting knives, mounting the enemy and slamming his knives into its back until it dies.

Hunter keeps shooting bubble after bubble after bubble after bubble after bubble after bubble as the cat-snake-fox closes in - how does it not run out!? It finally gets close enough and prepares to lash out with its tail.
Joanne taunts Glavenus. He releases the tail from his mouth and Joanne shoots up to the top of the wall. Though she dodges the blade itself, the intense heat from the blade sears her a bit as it sweeps past her. Anubis runs in while it's off-balance and hacks at the tail. Hunter leaps on its back and starts stabbing, stabbing, stabbing... Eventually, the monster gets flipped again and is left on the ground, struggling to get up. Orus takes a few scrapes from the throw. Anubis manages to sever the tail. The monster staggers back up. It is very, very angry. And very close to dead. It roars defiantly at Hunter, a red-hot liquid streaming from its mouth.
Predictably, another guardian shows up. The electric guardian comes flying in from the east with a loud roar.
A huge metal machine rolling on a pair of treads crashes through the wall violently. A man pops out of a hatch and yells angrily at the hunters in some foreign language, then seals it. The turret on its top begins swiveling around to face Orus.
Blade Butt is on Death's Door and enraged. Bubble-cat-snake-fox is undamaged. T-14 is undamaged. Joanne has light injuries. Orus has negligible injuries.

Orus is going to flip the tank with a strong upgust. Joanne will help by launching her harpoon from her location and pulling it. Anubis is going to finish off blade butt by jumping up and launching himself in the air with a missile blast, chopping the head off after shifting it into an axe and falling back toward blade butt. Hunter is going to keep bubbles busy with his attacks, performing a backflip to dodge the tail attack.

Anubis rocket jumps into the air and switches into axe mode, bringing the blade down towards its next. The monster whirls around and slams Anubis down with his tail, though Anubis still manages to land a solid hit. Anubis is blasted back with a serious injury, but Glavenus falls over dead.
Hunter does a flip as Mizutsune swings at him. He manages to clear the tail as Mizutsune proceeds to dart around. As he lands, Hunter lands in some of the juice from all the popped bubbles and his feet shoot out from underneath him. He falls on his back and ends up covered in quite a bit of the slippery slime. Mizutsune tries to follow up with a tail slam, but Hunter manages to dodge out of the way, though he notices he's getting much less traction.
Orus tries to blow T-14 away. Joanne fires a grappling hook into the front and tries to help by pulling up. They actually manage to get the front end to lift up from the ground a bit. T-14 tries to drive backwards and pull against Joanne. Unfortunately, this brings its turret to bear on her. It fires, and the pillar she's standing on explodes beneath her. She takes a bit of damage from the blast and is knocked off. T-14 slams down heavily against the ground, the wind no longer to support its glorious metal frame without Joanne's added support.
Bubble-cat-snake-fox is undamaged. T-14 has minor damage to the drive train.
Joanne has moderate injuries and is falling. Anubis has light injuries. Orus has negligible injuries. Hunter has negligible physical injuries but probably damaged pride, and is partially bubbled.

No traction, you say? As in easily sliding? Like ice?
Hunter will use his weapon to move around quickly, firing in the opposite direction he wants to move in. This should easily propel him around and make evading attacks easy while quickly landing physical attacks. Orus is going to use his arrows from the air and rain them down on the same enemy. Joanne will simply hookshot to another pillar and provide gunfire from there.
Anubis is going to unleash missiles. Lots of missiles. Boom. On the tank. Nobody is near it, so no need to worry about exploding friends.

Hunter tries firing his boomerang-things to propel himself around. It doesn't work as well as he hoped... at first. He takes a few hits, but continues to get coated with more and more slippery slime until he's zipping around fairly well, though he notices his attacks don't seem to be doing much. Orus starts peppering Mizutsume with arrows, landing a few hits. Eventually snakitty-fox begins losing interest in the slide-hound and turns on Orus.
Anubis barrages T-14 with missiles. The first few don't seem to have much effect, but it begins to do some noticeable damage to the armor. T-14 fires a shell at him, catching him in the blast even as he tries to evade it. Joanne rains gunfire on it. It doesn't seem particularly effective, but it makes a really cool tinking sound! T-34 revs its engine and points towards Anubis.
It's about time for the fourth and final guardian to appear. The hunters keep an eye on the southern path, half-expecting something to come barreling down at any second.
Joanne, from her vantage point, is the first to notice the large shadow in the center of the arena that's gradually widening. Hunter and Mizutsune are pretty far off to one side - though Mizutsune's heading toward Orus - but Orus and Anubis are uncomfortably close to the center.
Bubble-cat-snake-fox has light injuries. T-14 has minor damage to the drive train and moderate damage to the chassis armor. Gammoth is undamaged.
Joanne has moderate injuries. Anubis has light injuries. Orus has light injuries. Hunter has moderate physical injuries and definitely damaged pride, and is coated in bubbles.

FOR JUSTICE.
TURNS OUT THAT I MESSED UP HUNTERS WEAPON. OH WELL. ITS ACTUALLY JUST BLADED GAUNTLETS AND BOOTS THAT SHOOT BULLETS.
Those fools plan on charging toward Orus and Anubis? Very well. Orus waits for slippy the cat snake to approach, firing arrows at both it and its bubbles, popping them. When the tank moves in toward Anubis, he'll block the incoming fire with his axe. Hunter's going to use his super slipperiness to shoot at the wall, blasting himself across the ground with the recoil, grabbing Anubis, and sliding to the edge of the arena with him in hand. Joanne is going to use the hookshot on Orus' bow, dragging him over to her quickly with it. Both of the enemies should be underneath that ominously growing shadow.

T-14 barrels forward towards Anubis, firing its machine gun and turret. Anubis holds his axe up, but the force of the GLORIOUS MAIN CANNON tears through his guard. Hunter goes gliding by and drags him away before any serious injury occurs. It knocks off most of the bubbles, though he still smells like wet dog.
Orus takes a few shots at the snake as it coils its way towards him. Joanne grapples him safely out of danger as it approaches, leaving them up on a pillar.
Gammoth comes flying in and crashes into the center of the arena dangerously close to the others. It takes a moment to recover, then rears back and lets out a deafening trumpet. The force of the nearby impact seems to have broken the T-14's treads, and it no longer seems to be able to move. The cat-fox-snake doesn't seem to have been affected much, but it's badly injured from the arrows.
Bubble-cat-snake-fox has serious injuries. T-14's drive train is disabled and there's moderate damage to the chassis armor. Gammoth is undamaged.
Joanne has moderate injuries. Anubis has serious injuries. Orus has moderate injuries. Hunter has moderate physical injuries and moderate injury to his pride, and is no longer coated in bubbles.
