Frex starts dancing for Testalice as she cuts through the growth. Alice takes over basket duty from the rear. They can finally see the super-inconveniently-located strawberry patch! There's only a few more yards of thick vines ahead of them. Suddenly, one of the vines on the side of their path shoots out and coils around Frex's right wrist.
A giant carnivorous flower bud rises from the ground several feet out in the brambles. Even as an expressionless flower, the party can tell it looks hungry. It starts tugging on Frex.

I'm not wearing an almost bikini.
Frex will let out a mighty war cry and slash the vine holding her. Alice will step back and throw a strength weakening paralysis needle at the plant. Testalice will dance for Frex. Frex will slash the next incoming vine(s) that try to grab at the party.

No one's gonna make you, Kitty, I just want you to have the confidence to know you could!
Frex draws her sword in her other hand and slices at the vine as it pulls and tugs on her. She hacks at it twice, but can't get the leverage she needs. It yanks her off her feet and towards its maw, dragging her through several thorns before she manages to slice through the tendril. She slides to a stop, badly injured, covered in thorns, and bleeding heavily.
Alice chucks a debilitating needle at the plant. It doesn't seem to have as much of an effect as it would normally have.
Testalice goes to dance for her. Fortunately, Frex plowed a pretty clear trail for her to follow and she has no trouble waltzing through safely. She helps Frex up, and Frex gets on guard for the next attack. Properly braced, she manages to hack through the next vine in a single slash when it goes for Testalice's neck. The plant screeches and produces four more vines. Just hacking the limbs doesn't seem to be doing much damage.

All we need to do is fill the strawberry basket...
Alice, use Patch Up on Frex to heal her. Frex, release your bloodcurdling screams of bloodiness at the plant to get its attention. Once you've got it, focus on keeping its vines busy and dodging instead of attacking. Testalice, grab the basket and run to that strawberry patch. If one of the vines reaches for Testalice, make sure to deflect with your sword, Frex.

Alice runs up and throws several bandages on Frex's wounds. She manages to stop the bleeding. Frex feels a bit better, though her injuries are still significant. One of the vines reaches out and grabs Alice's arm.
Testalice grabs the basket and splits off. There's no clear path carved through the last leg of the brambles, and carrying the large basket makes it difficult to see where she's stepping. Her dress protects her from the worst of it - until it starts to shred. Thorns start to bite worse and worse, leaving shallow slices on her legs. Trying to run is making things worse. Her dress snags on a cluster and causes her to stumble. Fortunately, she's able to catch herself on the barrel instead of faceplanting into more thorns. Unfortunately, she's attracted the attention of some monsters. One of the plant's vines coils around her ankle from behind. Ahead of her, a harmless-looking squirrel looks up at her. It's so cute...
Frex screams at the plant. One vine reaches for her neck, while another tries to grab her sword arm again. She dodges out of the way of the neck-grab and manages to force it to grab her non-dominant hand instead. She slices through the tentacle grabbing Testalice's leg.
The plant growls and starts pulling Alice and Frex's arms. It sprouts a new tentacle to replace the one that was cut off. The last flails around, ready for a new target.

I hate relying on status effects to not die.
Frex, dance for Alice. Alice, use Double Needle twice to throw four paralytic needles at the squirrel FOE.
Testalice, throw Flash Dust at the plant to...I think Flash Dust does mega damage. It would be incinerated. And then blinded.

Between the magic spells and taking down a cannon that would level half the country - also some stuff in late EOV - I'm pretty sure all of Etrian Odyssey's in Mega Damage.
Alice tried to use Paralysis Needle, but her arms were bound!
Frex ignores the monster binding her arm and tries to dance for Alice. It's a bit awkward, but she manages to put on a passable performance, since her legs aren't bound. Even if doesn't make sense.

The plant yanks Alice and Frex, dragging them through the brush and towards its main body. They both take serious damage and start bleeding. The monster uses one of its other tentacles to reach for Testalice's legs again. It hurts, but she manages to kick out of its grip with only minor damage. It settles for whipping Alice and Frex with its last tendril. Alice is badly injured after the attack, and Frex finally passes out from all the damage and blood loss. The monster refocuses all its attention on Frex, letting Alice's arm go and opening its mouth.
Testalice throws some flash powder at the monster. It growls in annoyance at the damage and seems to be blinded, despite being a plant. Though that probably isn't going to help Frex much.
The totally normal squirrel continues to be cute and stare at Testalice.

OH MY GOD. FUCK THIS PLANT.
ALICE, SUMMON MOTHER DRAGON TO DEAL HEAVY NEUTRAL DAMAGE TO ALL ENEMIES AND FULLY HEAL THE PARTY.
FREX, LAND A CRITICAL HIT ON THAT MOTHERFUCKER, SLASHING RIGHT THROUGH ITS FACE.
TESTALICE, THROW A DRACOPIXIE BOMB AT THAT PLANT.
IT'S THE PLANT APOCALYPSE.

Force Break! With a ferocious roar, Alice unleashes Mother Dragon! It deals heavy damage to the plant. Frex, Testalice, and Alice all fully recover, including the damage to their clothing. The plant uses two of its vines to whip at Alice, but she evades the blind swings and takes minor damage from the thorns instead. It uses the other two to chuck Frex into its mouth and start gnawing on her. Frex takes serious damage, but starts blindly slashing at its insides and dealing equally massive damage. Meanwhile, Testalice starts putting together a giant dragon bomb. She chucks it at the plant.
The explosion is massive.
The plant is gone.
A large swath of the thorns are gone.
Frex and Alice are gone.
The other Alices are staring in horror.
The field is burning.
The squirrel is visibly shaken, but somehow that just makes it cuter.
The strawberries are fine.

Testalice shows absolutely no remorse. She picks up the basket and moves on. The squirrel waits until she's distracted to run across her foot and scamper up her leg, rummaging through her pack and pulling out a flash bomb. It sets it off, stunning itself and blinding and injuring Alice.
She manages to stagger the last few feet to the clearing, her newly-repaired clothes taking the brunt of the damage. Her vision clears up soon after arriving, and she starts picking strawberries. It's slow-going with only herself, but she gets it done.
She struggles to carry the heavy basket back out to the waiting Alice squad, but they happily accept it and thank her, paying her with a few coins. "These will be perfect for the cake..." Alice says. Alice starts to reach for one, but Alice swats her hand.
"I hope so," Alice adds.
