I'd prefer the old inventories if it's all the same. If we get a new one it may as well just be Gate Quest since Just is looking to turn that over to someone else, and I kind of like some of my old characters and items. With the old inventories it's just a matter of when I bring them in as opposed to hoping I get items and characters I want. Also, part of why we haven't gotten any more input may be because everyone else just hasn't read this yet. Let's call them in here. Neo wasn't in the original Vitquest, was he...?
I read it. I just don't really have anything to say. My mind's kinda at capacity right now.

But my promblem with keeping old inventory is that it turns every encounter into am arms race and if your a new player trying to compete with an older more vetran player then your starting at a disavantage.
Plus we need a way to nerf or come up with a special ability system thats fair for everyone. So that way one character can't just go around altering reality on a whim. While some of us who chose less powerful avatars or cant just chaos control around the area arent automatically relageted to the side.

We only start with three items, and personally while I plan on picking fairly powerful items the only one I'd say has the chance of being completely broken (the TARDIS) not only isn't meant for combat but is also going to be given the same nerds as before so that it's basically a home base mixed with a method of fast travel to locations one of us has been (and could possibly work as the way to travel from one island to the next). Other than that I'm planning on bringing Xerneas and the Rainbow Sword which are both strong but not too overpowered. Neo wasn't in the original Vitquest, was he...? I read it. I just don't really have anything to say. My mind's kinda at capacity right now. Neither was Golurk, I just sent it to everyone who's been currently posting.

I think if we did Vitquest again we would need new inventories. I don't even remember half the junk that was in mine.
I think we would also need to ban character items. They always cluttered up scenes and made things longer. I'd prefer we rely on some kind of NPC recruitment system.
I always really liked the idea of building a base as well.
I also think you should set up some kind of factions if you want to moderate our goals. So one might want to explore uncharted islands while one might hunt for treasure etc.

Npc recruitment would be neat and it would be an interesting reason to want to interact or want to do something with them.
It would give more of a priority to want to do stuff for them.
Well hown about this for a compromise.
What if the people who have an inventory. We choose like 5 things to transfer and the rest is off limits and the items we choose will be mixed in with the new items.
Also again how will we do abilities so a Duck doesn't seem like a huge hindrance when teaming up with Fuzzy Xenohart and Just who can be like okay you NPC Your on my team now.

There are characters that became some of my favorites from their franchises specifically because of Vitquest.

I suppose we could have summons? By that I mean character items perform one action and then disappear. Or we could have a limit. For example, only one character item at a time, but you can switch like Pokemon or they need to recharge or have limited uses.
I also want to bring back Yoshi's tier idea. I think that would be a good idea. If you categorized items by tier and set them at different difficulties to find while low tier items could just be placed right into your inventory.

Yeah thats why with a new inventory it will be much easier to prioritize what item goes with what tier. Good luck trying to organize that backlog of items. Fuzz is there something that you absouletly want from your old inventory that you want in your new inventory?

Fuzz is there something that you absouletly want from your old inventory that you want in your new inventory? Kind of a lot of things. A lot of the characters that tended to be regulars with me throughout one Vitquest or another (for example Gogo, Nightmare, Golbez and Paula) were planned to be picked sooner or later assuming we could choose the items we get as rewards with Xerneas being in my starting inventory due to being one of the first characters I got, the TARDIS was going to be my base, I need a Chaos Emerald to teleport (it narrowly didn't make it into my top three but it was going to be the first item I'd pick), and while the Rainbow Sword was going to be in my starting three for being more useful the Hard Core Sword was probably going to be the second weapon I'd pick for again being from the original Vitquest.

I'm really not clear as to what Vitquest consists of, or any of these inventory mechanics.

Old inventories would essentially make it impossible for me to catch up, since I don't have one. I assume I've been asked to join, since I was pinged.
