"Ugh, why'd you have to bring that up..." Natsumi complains.
"What?" Mattea asks.
"Oh, right. We didn't get to share all that yet. Um... I fell into this pit-trap thing, that led to a giant spider web hanging over some big lava thing. And some monsters tried to kill me. Then Tai and a bunch of others jumped down and used me like footstool to fight them off. Um... the new-person also got stuck in it. And Leia-person freaked out..."
"Wow. That's... something." Mattea seems surprised. "I knew she had a panic attack or whatever, but I didn't know why... Nasty. Alice didn't warn me it was this dangerous when she... Whatever."
"Yeah... Do you remember when I was when in the hospital before school started?"
"...Oh."
"Yeah."
Mattea is silent for a minute, then changes the subject. "So, Tai! What does it say about your own... romantic prospects?" She puts a hand on your shoulder.
"O-oh, yes." Natsumi puts a hand on your other shoulder. "I'm, um, very curious."

Tai makes a pffft pdf sound. "Like hell I'd read my own romantic prospects. Especially in front of you two. Besides, I already know it wouldn't be anything interesting. Just same-old same-old disaster in my future. No point in trying."
He stretches a bit. "I don't exactly seem like the romantic type, do I?"

"Laaaaame," Mattea whines.
"I told you he wouldn't do it," Natsumi says.
"Laaaaaaaaaame," Mattea repeats. "Oh, well. So, whatcha want to do now?" She grabs the remote. "Plenty of mindless crap on we can make fun of."
"Actually, I think I might head home. Between the festival and everything else, I've got a lot of homework to catch up on."
"Oh, leaving already? What about you, Tai?"

"Eh, I'm feeling pretty drained after the spiritual stuff, so I'm gonna jet too. Besides, like hell will I let her walk home alone at night after hearing she got attacked doing it before. Thanks for dinner and whatever." Tai thanks Mattea, not suring exactly what gesture to make. He kind of just does a weird wave goodbye.

Mattea shrugs. "Suit yourselves."
Natsumi pauses. "Thank you very much for the delicious meal!" she says.
"Yeah, no problem. See ya around." Mattea walks you to the door. Natsumi picks up her shoes and heads out. Mattea blows both of you a kiss as you leave, then closes the door.
"...What a strange-person... But nice. Um, mostly. She did force me to do a strange bet with her. That you would try flirting with one of us with your fortune. But I knew you would not stoop so low. And I'm very glad I was right, or..." She stops talking and laughs nervously. You walk silently for a while, Natsumi still carrying her shoes for some reason. "You know, you don't need to walk me home all the time. I started carrying pepper spray. And a whistle. So there's no need to worry, Mr. Not-a-romantic-person."

Natsumi sighs. "You're such a pain in the butt... But you're becoming less a pain in the butt. Almost tolerable. Almost." She looks up with you. "Or maybe I'm just getting used to the pain. Maybe I'm just a... um... masochist?"
Tai gained a Charm!
"...Well, this is home." She stops and turns in front of her house. "Goodnight, Tai!"

You get a text back from Natsumi later in the evening. "Tomorrow after art? It's a date! ^.^" After a minute you get another message. "It's probly gonna be kinda sad though ;_; so I probably shouldn't tease like that >.< sorry"
