"Hello," he says back. "...Anyway. I'd love to chat, but I've got to get back to work. You kids have fun tonight."
"Yep," Mattea says without turning to look at him.
You hear the sound of him heading upstairs, followed by the sound of a shower, then him moving around a bit. The whole time, Mattea doesn't say anything. In fact, she sets aside her glass and grabs the wine bottle, chugging straight from it. Soon her father heads downstairs and out the door. "I don't know when I'll be home, Mat."
"Thas fine, Daddy," she slurs back.
"Don't have too much fun," he yells before closing the door and leaving.
"Yep," Mattea says quietly. She takes one more long drag from the wine bottle before slamming it down and wiping her mouth. And then all was silent.

Tai coughs. "Not to be an asshole, but.... are things alright. Mattea? Are you alright?" He looks at Sachi to back him up.

Sachi shakes his head. Even he isn't completely oblivious.
Mattea groans. "It's fine, Tai. It's fine. We used to have some issues, but it's fine now. He's just. Ugh. Always with that 'gotta get to work' bullshit or whatever excuse to not be around." She stabs a meatball hard enough to make you and Sachi flinch, then shoves it in her mouth and continues with her mouth full. "But whatever. I'm not some little kid."

Tai is silent for a bit, looking at her with a concerned stare.
"...Alright. But both of us are here if you ever need to talk. Or if you need us to do anything else. Like the dishes. Right Sachi?"
Tai looks to him.

You look over at Sachi and see he's already finishing up with the dishes. "Did you say something?" he asks.
"Ugh... Haha, oh, fuck it." Mattea starts giggling more, her face flushed. "Come on, what are we doing the rest of the night? I wanna do something fuuuuuun."
"You... are drunk," Sachi says.
"Yes! I! Am!" Mattea announces. She stretches in her chair, the hops up with a slight stumble as she walks over. "And up for juuuuust about anything. Wink. If you have any ideas."
"Be careful, Tai. She gets very snuggly and affectionate when she's like this."

"Ah, a seance? That sounds-"
"Whore moves! Horm... bees? Humvees...? Horrumvees!" Mattea cheers. She stumbles over to a case of old movies, shoves one into the TV, and plops down on the couch. She grabs you and Sachi on either side of you for the movie, grabbing and forcibly snuggling the both of you. Pretending to be scared. At least you assume she's pretending? She's a good actress.
The horror movie's pretty funny. A bunch of stupid psychic teenagers try to cheat Death, who outsmarts them by murdering them crazy Rube Goldberg devices.

You arrive at home. It's night, but not quite time to sleep.

"Go for what?" Sachi whispers back. "You... want popcorn? Hang on, I'll get us some popcorn."
Mattea throws her hands up as he leaves. "Popco-o-o-orn!" she cheers.
Two minutes later Sachi returns to find Mattea curled up half in your lap and half-asleep. He pokes her awake. She's annoyed at first, until she remembers the popcorn and starts shoveling it down.
It's some good popcorn.
You finish the sequel, and it's getting late. "I should be going," Sachi says, standing to leave.
"Heheh... Which one of ya's gonna tuck me in for the night?" Mattea giggles.

You head over to Mattea's house and ring the doorbell. You're a bit surprised when Natsumi answers the door. "Hello, Tai-person. Um... So... I guess Mattea invited you for dinner, too? And Sachi." She pauses and stares at you.

"Not an asshole... Hm. That's a... nice thing to say about her?" Natsumi giggles.
"Taaaaiiii!" Mattea calls out. "Get your ass in here! Dinner's almost ready, slowpoke!"
Natsumi gives you a somewhat forced smile and lets you in.
Like she said, you find Sachi just finishing cooking some kind of fish-based soup with a side of rice and stir-fried vegetables, while Mattea pours some glasses of wine. Natsumi's eyes widen a bit with excitement when she sees. It does smell good...
"All done!" Sachi announces. "I'm quite proud of this dish. I even caught the fish myself."
