Tai

"True...  She had every intention of...  I'm sure it will be fine, Tai," Natsumi says as you go to the door.

The door swings open as Freya steps out.  "Hey, Nat- Oh, you brought Tai?"  She sounds a bit disappointed.

"Oh.  That's not a problem, is it?" Natsumi says.

"Oh!  No, the more help the better.  It's just, uh...  I was kinda hoping we and Raine could talk about that, um, y'know.  The stuff that happened last night..." Freya trails off.  "No offense, Tai!  Really.  It was just kind of, y'know, personal?"

"He knows about it," Natsumi says.

"You told him about-"

Natsumi shakes her head. "No, he discovered the Otherworld on his own."

"Oh.  Um...  Well, Tai, never mind all that stuff I just said.  Come on in.  We were just setting up some ribbons."

As you head inside Natsumi laughs awkwardly.  "So, um...  I sort of told Freya about it just last night, and found out Raine already knew, so, um...  Yep."

Tai

"Saving the world is hard... But I'm having fun. I'm making a lot of friends I might not have ever talked to." Natsumi grins. "Like you, Tai-person!"

Freya stifles a laugh.

"Um, I never really got to talk to her about the guardians or Mercia-angel. We, ummm... I wanted to sit down and talk to her about everything properly in private, but... we got interrupted by Katie-Beast and her new friend."

Tai

"Ah, sorry, I'm not trying to make you feel unwelcome," Freya says.  "I did... want to talk to Natty privately about some stuff that happened last night, but there's no reason I can't just do it after the party."

"Huh?" Natsumi asks.  "About the Otherworld stuff?"

"I'm still annoyed how long it took you to tell me about this Otherworld thing.  But no, that's not it."

"Tossing me in the creek...?"

"Nah."

"Um...  What, then?" Natsumi looks confused.

"Gee, you're lucky Tai's here.  Better figure it out before he leaves, or you're really in for it.  You know I can easily carry you to the nearest creek."

Natsumi changes the subject.  "Um...  A-anyway, Tai, thanks for the help."

"Oh, yeah.  So, anyway, how about the two of you tell me about this angel thing?" Freya asks.  "Actually, let's wait for Raine to get back first..."

On cue, the door opens and Raine staggers in with some bags of groceries.  "Got the stuff!" she announces.

"Great!" Freya says.  "Tai's here helping set up, by the way!  He 'n' I are on decoration duty, you and Nat can start cooking.  Oh, and we're going to talk about the Otherworld while we work!"

Raine drops one of the grocery sacks.  "H-how do you... know about that...!?" she gasps.

Freya dives and catches the bag.  "It feels like I'm the only one who didn't..." she says.  "So!  Angels and stuff..."

Natsumi explains everything you know about Mercia and her group to Raine and Freya.

Once she finishes, Raine puts down her cutting knife.  "Oh...  Um...  That's all really... wow.  Fox and Katie and some others took me to the school and taught me all this stuff, they wanted me to meet a bird-thing, one of those Guardians I guess?  Named Aunt Hinoh.  And, um, some guys in weird metal armor with really big weapons showed up and attacked us.  They said they wanted me to talk to their boss and tried to, well, kidnap me..."

Freya crushes the balloon in her hands.  "They did what now."

Tai

Natsumi frowns, then speaks slowly. "I don't... want to... get my dad involved in all this."

"Yeah... Mine has enough on his plate, too," Freya says.

"He'd just worry finding out about all of this..." Raine mutters. Freya nods in agreement.

"We could all work together better," Natsumi says. "The meeting didn't really end with much agreement, huh."

"Shoulda brought me!" Freya says. She flexes her arm. "I woulda knocked some sense into everyone!"

Raine giggles. "Yes, Freya, I'm sure everyone would've been very cooperative with you."

"I'm with Buttons. Before we make any moves, we should get in contact with all the Guardians and figure out what they think about Mercia and her plan. And whether they'll work with us against her, or if they agree with her, or... right now we need information." Natsumi crosses her arms and nods to herself. "So it's probably fine to let Fox and Katie have their fun, so long as we give them a good babysit-" Natsumi gets cut off by the oven beeping, and runs off to take the cake out of the oven. Raine follows along after her.

You have a moment alone with Freya. She stares at you. "So-o-o-o-o, I know I asked this a long time ago, but, uh, you and Natty...? Now that you've been exploring that world together..."

Tai

"Thanks, Tai!" Freya says. She jabs you in the shoulder. "Oh, and sorry if I'm mis-reading things. I just thought you might have a bit of a crush on Nat. I was gonna give you some tips if you wanted to go after her, but guess I'm just seeing things! Ha."
