"Oh, right the... Va... Vagus? The color-stealers." Natsumi frowns. "I don't think it's my fault, but... they did start showing up around the time I got tossed into the Otherworld, huh?" She draws her knees up and hugs herself. "They fought them a long time ago and it really messed up the world... Um, Otherworld. And this time they're even coming into this world... That's probably really bad, right?"

Leia fiddles her thumbs, then sits down immediately next to Natsumi, putting her hand on her shoulder.
"Well... Hum... I hate to admit it, but that was my fault... I played with fire, didn't notice I was followed and well... We all know the rest.
Thankfully, it's not a hive mind, or the city would have been overrun by now...
With that said... I... I don't recall if I mentioned it... But... Hum... If we're going to fight these things, I'll need to acquire cool armor like you...

"Well..." Natsumi thinks for herself. "We can trust any of he guardians, definitely! Tia, Grant, and Laura. Um... probably Alice, since she wanted to get everyone together in a group? Oh, and Somnis. Um... I can't imagine Fox and Katie doing anything bad. And of course Buttons, he's been helping me from the beginning!" Natsumi smiles. "Who do you think? If we have two people... and need two."

Tai answers. "Actually I'm not free. I'll be busy collecting materials tonight with Natsumi and Leia."
Natsumi holds up her phone and shows a message from Buttons. You can't really read it because she's moving around so much. Fortunately, she also blurts out what it says. "Buttons can come! Now we just need to decide where we're going... besides the tree, obviously."

You head home, Alice following behind you. You notice her occasionally staring silently at the picture on her phone before snapping out of her daze. She seems nervous. When you finally arrive, she puts it away. "Oh... This is your aunt's place? It's nice."

Nora smiles. "It is, isn't it. Nice and quaint. My aunt is likely already asleep. Coming from the background we do... It's been a blessing, how much freedom she's given me. She's the only one in my family who properly understands me."
Sure enough, inside the appartment, Nora's aunt is already asleep. Or at least tucked away in her room for the night. There's some food in the kitchen able to be warmed up, and the light in the living room is still on. Nora guides Alice to her room. It's a pleasantly sized room, with nice furnishings. Luxurious, but subtly so, and only if you knew what you were looking at. There's a bookshelf opposite the bed, lined with some of Nora's favorite belongings. A few pictures of home, a picture of her family's estate, a crystal ball that looks surprisingly ornate, hardcover books on various subjects- mostly fantasy and historical literature- and a few other odds and ends. Her last Chess tournament trophy rests near the top of the shelf. There's a medium sized TV in the corner of the room, and a beautiful marble chess set on a small table in front of a computer on the opposite side.
Nora turns to Alice, noting her nervousness. "You don't need to be so nervous, love... Anything I can do to help you relax?"

Alice spends a few seconds looking around the room. "No..." she says quietly. "That's... uh, there's not much anyone could really do to make me relax. It will be easier if I just get it over with." She sighs and sits on the bed, then smiles slightly. "No interrogation required this time."
She slaps her hands on her knees and takes a deep breath. "Right. So. This is a picture of my mom. Not Moth- not Marin. Er, that is, my birth mother. Mo- Marin's not- Marin's my aunt." She sighs. "Obviously... not something I just... go around telling people."

Nora sits down next to Alice and places a hand on her leg. "My aunt is the one who raised me as well, and is far more of a mother to me than my birth mother... But this is clearly more than that."

Alice jumps slightly, then goes back to staring at the ground. She gives a small shrug. "I'd say it's... different, yes. My father died before I was born, and mother... I don't know all the details but I never really met her. Marin took me in unofficially while I was still a baby and adopted me formally not long after."
