You head into the clothing store and start browsing for shoes. You notice Avalon out of the corner of your eye as she browses a few pairs of pants, then blouses, then scarves. She makes her choices very quickly, then makes her way towards the shoe department. She looks around for a bit, then notices you. "Hey, you go to Newvit, right? I'm trying to put together an outfit for the Drama tryouts Friday - oh, I don't think we've met. I'm Avalon, the head of the club. Do you mind giving me your opinion on something?"

Dewey turns around after deciding on a pair of shoes.
“Dewey. So, what do you need my opinion on?”
All the while unbeknownst to him, one of the tickets at his house vanishes.

"Well I'm trying to pick my outfit for Friday. As the director I need to make a good impression, right? But I'm a bit stuck." She holds up a white, lacy blouse with a subtle, floral pattern in cream on the sleeves and a pair of black capri pants. "So I know I'm going to start with this..." She points to the small, black beret on her head. "And that. But..." She gestures between a black scarf and a cream one. "Which scarf? And what do you think for shoes? Flats? Heels? Sandals? Oh, maybe some nice wedges..."

Dewey raises a single eyebrow, wondering what it was about his plain ensemble that made him look like he knew what he was talking about.
“I’m no expert in dressing to stand out, but if I had to choose I’d say the black scarf looks better on account of not blending into the shirt. As for your predicament involving shoes, what kind of play are the tryouts for? If it’s a musical and you plan on doing any sort of dancing, I would imagine that heels would be a less than ideal choice.”

"Oh! Well, the play is still a secret, shhh." She holds a finger to her lips, then continues. "For the tryouts, people will be picking their own stuff to read out. It helps me to know where their head goes for showing off to figure out whether they'd fit with our play well - it's not just all technical skill, right? You need someone who will mesh with your characters, too - um, sorry, I'm getting off topic. All I'll be doing during the tryouts is making an announcement at the start, then sitting and calling people up and judging them. So I can go with form over function." She looks at the scarves. "You're right about the scarf, though."

Floyd (night)
You head to the mall. It's busy tonight. Sam is just finishing up passing out some flyers, and Mareena peeks down at her before disappearing back into her shop. Raine is just leaving a movie. Sachi runs out of the kitchen at the packed cafe and delivers a dish of pasta, then runs back. Lance is holed up in the bookstore with Lisa. That really quiet girl whose name starts with a V is gathering a crowd of challengers in the arcade. Avel is in the music store. And Somnis is poking around the fountain, crawling around on the ground for some reason.

You start crawling around with Somnis, looking for a tiny translucent thing on the filthy ground in the mall that apparently she's planning to put back in her eye? After some time, she stops. "Oh, wait. Wait. I see why I can't see." She reaches up and pokes herself in the eye, then pulls out a lens. "It got stuck on the other one so they were both in the same eye. Oh." She corrects the problem, then stares at you blinking several times. "Oh, there you are. Hi, Floyd."

(That's not quite how it works, it just means you'll get more Charm the next time you raise Charm, make sure you remind me)
"Oh-ho? And how did you get your hands on this?" Mareena asks. "This is good for a free session with THE GREAT MAREENA... after you get off work. Run along, now and come back when you've finished passing out those flyers."

"Hm, hm... Did I now? I'm just worried they might look a bit too... adult on me? Like I'm trying to look more mature. Which I guess is the point, I'm just not sure I can pull it off. Ah, well. Nothing for it but to try it, right? It'd be pretty bad if the director couldn't handle that. Thanks." She collects the garments and heads to the changing room, leaving you to return to your shopping.

Somnis returns the wave. "Yes, I am Somnis and run the Volunteer Club! And you are Floyd!" With no other words, Somnis walks over, grabs you by the waist, and lifts you into the air. "And this is the mall fountain." A moment later she sends you flying before you splash into the fountain. When you get your bearings and sit up, you find Somnis standing and staring at you with a smile on her face. "That means we're friends now."

As Floyd rises from the fountain he runs a hand through his now wet hair and muses quietly "It must be a local thing then throwing people in water." Floyd takes a moment to get a closer look at the fountain before turning to Somnis "Well I can definitely confirm three things this is a fountain, I still haven't hit that pesky growth spurt, and friendship sounds great" he declares happily
