You proceed down the dimly lit trail. An owl hoots as you pass under it. Fox jumps. "O-oh, hey there, little guy! Actually, you're a pretty big guy. For a bird. How about you just stay up there and not bother us, OK...?"

Fox thinks hard for a minute. "But I don't like anything about this time of year. The world's so... dead. It gets dark really early and it's cold so I can't play outside as late. And snow makes it hard to go hiking. I can't think of anything good about winter!"

"I suppose you've got me there. My family isn't exactly the most festive, so Christmas is mostly just another day. One of these years I should see if Aunt Myrtle would be willing to take me with her on her holiday trip, but depending on whether all of this chaos is still going on this year probably wouldn't be the best idea... In any case that's neither here nor there. Even I can tell that there's something about Christmas that seems to have struck a nerve. You're welcome to either share or keep it to yourself, whichever you're more comfortable with."

Fox gets quiet for a while. That ends when a pair of deer go running out of the forest. Fox squeaks and draws closer to you. "Oh... They were... cute..." he says. He seems glad to change the subject. It's starting to get dark, so you decide to call it a day.

You head to the park. You find Fox and Katie playing around, but Natsumi just waves at them and guides you into the forest. She takes you off the path, but seems to know exactly what she's doing. You shortly arrive at a large rock set beside a small creek. Natsumi sets her shoes aside, like you've seen her doing when she goes into people's houses, and climbs up on top of it. She motions for you to join her.
"So... Um... How much do you remember of the other day?"
