You arrive at the park near sunset to find it almost empty. Katie grabs your hand and excitedly drags you towards the woods trails. "C'mon, I saw a really cool raccoon around a few days ago! Maybe we can find the trail again."
You poke around the woods for a bit when you hear people coming. Which is weird, because it's pretty much dark and no one else is in here. You recognize Natsumi's voice. "OK, it's this way! Not too much further now."
The other voice belongs to Freya. "Here, huh? I never woulda imagined this is where you sneak off to those nights."
They seem to be leaving the path. They don't seem to have noticed you out in the brush. Katie cocks her head and looks at them. "Should we follow them? I bet we could sneak up them."

Katie immediately drops to all fours and starts skittering along after them, with you trailing behind her.
The pair makes their way through the forest. At one point, they stop and glance over their shoulders. "Did you hear something?" Freya asks.
"Hmmmm?" As Natsumi scans the area, Katie drops lower and stands stock-still, like a predator stalking pray. "There are lots of animals out here, Freya-person. I bet it was a raccoon!"
You notice Katie twitch at the mention at the raccoon.
They soon continue moving forward, and you go back to following them. Natsumi leads Freya to a small clearing with a large, flat rock.
"This is... it, huh?" Freya asks. "Your special meditation spot?"
"Yep!" Natsumi sets her flip-flops aside as she scrambles up onto it and takes a seat. "Want to try joining me?"
"Well, sure. Why not?" Freya thinks for a moment, then shrugs and follows her example. "Huh... it's kinda colder than I thought..."
"Yep! It helps me focus. A li-i-i-i-ittle cold is good for meditation," Natsumi says.
"I think it's kinda hard to focus..." Freya says.
"Then this will be good practice!"
The two fall silent for a while.
Katie quietly makes her way back a bit. "They're just sitting there. Kinda boring..." She grins. "Maybe we should sneak up on them and scare them?"

Floyd almost frowns but a wry smile crosses his face instead "Maybe we could do that maybe... but I wanna enjoy the night a little more first" he replies quietly shooting his arms out to support his neck he lays on the ground "Grass is comfy, Breeze is gentle, Lots of Stars out tonight" he comments idly staring into the sky

You lie down and stare at the stars poking through the trees. Katie shrugs and flops down next to you.
In the distance, you can vaguely hear Natsumi walking Freya through the basics of meditation - stances, breathing techniques, that sort of thing - and can't help but kind of follow along, seeing as it's the only noise besides the wind gently blowing through the trees and the river flowing well off in the distance.
You snap awake to the sound of Katie rolling over. Seems like you dozed off. You look back to your marks. Natsumi seems to be deep in meditation, while Freya appears to be asleep. With Katie, there's no question. She's curled up and snoring softly. Huh.
Natsumi snaps out of her daze and sighs. She seems to be relaxed. She looks over at Freya. "Freya? ...Freya?" She leans over and stares at her, a few inches from her face. She looks like she's trying to decide what to do.
This might be your chance...

Floyd considers waking Katie up but, decides better and instead just writes out the word "Distraction" into the dirt dropping most pretense of stealth Floyd jaunts casually over to Natsumi big dumb smile plastered on his face "Hi Nat lovely night we're having hard to blame the good captain for drifting off" He says accompanied with a small wave

"Hrk!" Natsumi snaps away from Freya's face and almost slips off the rock. "Gah? Floyd-person!? What... when did you... Why are you here? Now?" She looks at the sky. "Could you not be? Um, no offense. Now's just a really, really bad time and it would really, really help if you went somewhere else and we can talk sometime Monday if you want?"

Floyd looks between Natsumi and Freya a few time before his grin somehow widens and he nods "Sure thing Nat just checking in to see if you're both alright I'm not used to seeing people out and about when I go on my night runs, wouldn't want to ruin Freya's Eve for either of you I've got a feeling we'll be seeing each other tomorrow anyways " he replies earnestly. "Have Fun" he adds as he departs back to Katie who he nudges gently "Hey Kit-Kat I just saw you're really cool raccoon run over there" He says excitedly pointing in the opposite direction of the Rock.

Katie wakes up with a start when you poke her a bit. "Rrk? ...Raccoon?"
Natsumi looks over at Katie popping up and her nervous look worsens.
Freya yawns, uncurls from her meditative stance, and stretches. "Was that... Floyd?"
"Um..." Natsumi begins.
She trails off as a glowing, green portal springs into existence just beside her big rock. Natsumi looks over at it from the corner of her eye, then back to Floyd as she tries to pretend it doesn't exist. Katie cocks her head and looks at it, then at Natsumi, then the portal, then Freya. Freya continues to stare towards Floyd and Katie, oblivious.

Floyd motions for Katie to take his hand behind their backs as he puts on his best Button's voice and Natsumi expresion "Ahh Freya-Person at last you have awoken welcome to your mindscape congratulations you have taken the first step on the path to Nirvana" He begins making his way slowly towards the portal as he speaks "The journey to true enlightenment must not be rushed though when I disappear close your eyes and open them once more you will be back in the waking world Natsumi shall continue to be your guide from there 3...2...1" Floyd leaps into the portal Katie in tow

Katie lets you drag her towards the portal. Freya looks confused. So does Natsumi, until she realizes what you're doing. She's too stunned to react at first, but manages to yell just as you jump through the portal. "No, F-"

As you come back through the portal, you find Katie rubbing her arms. She has some angry, red marks where she'd been bitten moments before, which she's currently rubbing. "Owwww-uh," she whines. "My key couldn't keep up with all the damage...?"
Other than a few disturbed plants and the two pairs of shoes sitting at the base of the rock, there's no sign anyone's been out here. Even animals seem to be avoiding the area. You seem to be all alone for now.

Floyd scratches the back of his head "Well I guess next time we know not to go towards the buzzing sound at least I'm sorry this isn't exactly what I had in mind for hanging out tonight" he admits flashing an apologetic smile "You can throw me in a river if you'd like"

Katie grins. "I would like!" She wraps her arms around you and struggles to lift you a few inches, then drops you. "Ow, ow-ow-ow-ow... Um, rain check, though... My arms still hurt. Plus... they might be mad if we run off again."
Katie thinks for a moment, then pokes her head through the portal. She pulls it out a moment later. "Um, well... They won, but I think maybe we should give them a minute or two." She leans in and whispers, for no apparent reason. "They were hugging and it looked like Natty was crying about something."

Floyd nods "That fast huh yeah let's let them find their own way out" he makes his way over to the rock and lays down patting the space beside him for Katie to take "Give you some time to rest your arms"
