Dewey stops talking as he realizes the man can’t hear him, then nods and heads away from the center of town as the man instructed. Even if there wasn’t a language barrier it seems unlikely the man is in any mood to talk, so why bother pestering him any longer?

Leia

"Hmmmmm...  Aw.  You all got to spend a lot of time getting tossed in the river, now I feel left out.  Especially because I feel like I could swim like a fish.  Ah, well.  I don't think many places are gonna be open, but I think we have some frozen fish and other stuff at home I can cook!"  She giggles.  "I haven't cooked anything for you before, have I?  I'm actually a really good cook, you know!  I make stuff for Freya all the time, and sometimes Kiran so he doesn't just eat those toaster pocket things.  So...  Want anything in particular?  I owe you a good dinner, and maybe some other stuff too.  If you ask nicely.  Like a kiss!"

Natsumi gained the Water subtype!


Floyd

There's a pause, then a sigh.  "Fine, come in."  The door buzzes and clicks open.  "Third floor, on the left."

You walk up the stairs and find the right door.  Then you go to the opposite one, like she said.  You knock.

"It's unlocked."  You push open the door and walk inside.  It's a small apartment, with a small living room combined with a compact kitchen divided by a table-counter.  All the basics.  A refrigerator, stove, some cabinets, stools, small TV, couch, and an armchair.  An open door leads off to a dark bedroom, while you hear whirring coming from the closed door beside it.

The buzzing stops and the door opens.  Ilya steps out in a blue bathrobe and slippers, a matching towel wrapped around her hair.  "Freaking out because of those weird monster things?"  She walks over and flops onto the couch.  "I ran into some weird... ghost when I went for a jog."


Sam

You walk arm-in-arm with Raine back to her house.  "Make yourself at home," she says.  She gestures at the couch, then stops, grabbing you by the wrist and putting a finger on her lips.  A mischievous smile crosses her face.  "Actually, you were well-behaved today, mostly.  And you had such fun before.  Why don't you assist me with the baking?  If you do a good job, I'll let you choose between licking the bowl or tickling... Freya.  She seems to be in such a bad mood, she'd surely enjoy the attention."


Dewey

You return home on a longer route than normal.  The man's vague directions seem to be spot on, and you avoid any monster encounters.  But you do see some more of those police armed with weird weapons and armor.  And a few other adults using equipment more like your own.  You weren't completely sure about the guy with the glaive since he looked kind of like he fit in with the police, but there's really no denying it when you see a woman in a purple dress floating around on a broomstick, a man in a swimsuit with water balloons for weapons, or just a cowboy.  Or a giant laser firing down from orbit and precisely obliterating a giant mantis-looking monster without even damaging the road beneath it.

"Ohh bad timing huh" Floyd mutters sheepishly as Illya steps out "Yeah those things were all over and well.... after I couldn't get into contact during the last disaster wanted to be sure to do better this time" He explains earnestly "So tell me about this "ghost?"

Leia holds Natsumi's hand.

"That would be great, yes...

Everything."

Floyd

You head to the park and find you aren't the only one who wanted to blow off some steam this morning.  Ilya and Freya are hanging around the edge of the forest trail together, stretching.  The kid with all the bandages has a fishing rod and a tacklebox set up on one of the picnic table while he picks what bait he's going to use.  Lisa is staring at a tree.  When you stop and think about it, that's the tree that Hinoh was perched on.  She seems to be investigating for some reason... and with the fog gone and things quiet, you notice a few scorch marks on the trunk.  Uh-oh.

Floyd

"Morning jog?" Freya laughs. "Not quite."

"A race," Ilya says.

"Figure it might push me a bit if I have someone to compete against," Freya says.

"Mm," Ilya grunts in agreement.

"You can join us if you want, just don't complain if we leave you in the dust," Freya teases.
