Floyd nods excitedly "Come on Ilya it'll be fun skating "improperly" is still better than no skating at all. Who knows maybe this'll be the thing that breaks you out of your slump, it's worth a shot right?"

Ilya taps her foot, then sighs. "I suppose you are correct. Fine. If you insist."
"Yeah, c'mon!" Freya practically drags her into the locker rooms.
After getting set up, you head out to the ice. Only a handful of people show up, not even enough to field one full team. One of the employees leads you through a few simple drills trying to smack pucks into the goal. Freya picks up on it almost immediately, with her first shot bouncing off the post. Ilya has trouble holding her stick. Every time she bends down to use it, it throws off her balance. She has even more trouble swinging it, and her frustration is palpable.
You fall somewhere between the two extremes, having some trouble but managing to get most of the later pucks in the net.

You head downtown and make your way to Vitcorp just in time to see Alice heading inside. The doorman greets you and asks what you're up to. You tell him you're here for a job.
"Oh, really? That's great! You can head inside and talk to the secretary, she'll point you in the right direction."
He lets you inside and you find an opulent lobby with a wide desk in front of a bay of elevators. The secretary typing away at a computer glances up when you walk in. "Yes, hello. Can I help you with something, young man?" The nameplate beside her says Victoire Dey.
There's no sign of Alice, but you do notice... Katie sitting in a plush chair against one wall for some reason? She waves.

Floyd smiles and waves back to Katie before focusing his attention onto the woman "I believe so Mrs! Hi I'm Floyd I'm newish in town I wanted to see if there were maybe part time positions available?" He asks enthusiastically

Running deliveries seems to be rather popular with our young hires, but we've also got a few other positions. I believe we have a young intern working in the legal department, for example..."

"Mom's the head of custodial services!" Katie says. "But she forgot her dinner so I came to bring it to her." She holds up a brown bag.
"What a good daughter," the secretary says as she taps away. "Yes, we do have a few openings... though, could there be some legal or health concerns about letting a student do something like this...? Let me see... Hm. No, this one should be fine... Would you like to meet with Ms. Randall and ask about the position?"

Ms. Dey places a call, and a few minutes later a middle-aged woman in a black-and-white maid uniform arrives. Any doubts that that could be Katie's mom are dispelled when Katie runs at her and gives her a hug. "Mom!"
"Katie? What are you doing here?"
"You forgot your dinner again!"
"Oh, did I? Silly me..." she says, blushing slightly.
Ms. Dey raises her eyebrow as she watches. "You know Marin would be more than happy to whip something up for you. She'd probably be excited for the chance."
"I know, I know..." Mrs. Randall waves her hand dismissively, then scoops Katie up and sets her aside. "Right, yes! You are the new prospective hire, right? And you want to work in janitorial services of all things?"
"That's what the man said," Victoire confirms.
"Goodness me! Well we're always short on hands, so any help would be appreciated... For a student, you'd mostly be emptying trash cans and picking up loose trash. No work for a young man! Are you sure you wouldn't prefer a more... glamorous position?"

"He is?" her mom repeats.
"He is!"
"Well! I can hardly ignore such a stellar recommendation, now can I? Alright, then! There's some paperwork and whatnot that we need to do for the sake of formalities. Ms. Dey will give you the forms you need to fill out, then we'll handle the processing and give you a call back in a day or so. And then you can come in and I'll show you to your duties. Speaking of which, I must get back to work..." Ms. Randall gives you a small curtsy before walking out through a side door.
"Looks like you got the job, more or less," Victoire says. She already has the forms in her hand by the time you turn around. "Just fill this out and I'll rush it through the system for you."
"Wow! You're gonna be working with my mom, huh?" Katie asks.

Floyd smirks and leans in to answer "I could tell you Kit-Kat but, then I'd have to kill you......just kidding" He says laughing it off he goes back to filling out the form "You're just going to have to trust me on this one I just thought this would be the best place to do part time because it's so big and important and mysterious"

You spend some time diligently filling out forms. When you're finished, you hand it over to Victoire. She gives it a quick glance, then nods. "OK! We'll start processing it and give you a call as soon as it's done."
You feel like the effort made you a bit more understanding. And it might be worth talking to Katie again soon...
