Sam

"Well after we had Ice Cream and saw a movie,". "I thought the date was going well so I tried to kiss her,". "I told her how I was scared of losing her,". "I wasn't surprised she tried to stop the kiss,".

"I was surprised when all of a sudden she got really angry at herself,". "Raine told me she doesn't know why people think she's so good,". "Raine said she's a horrible person and that I deserve someone better then her,". "I tried to reassure her hey I did something bad in my past,". "Yet you stood by my side and continued to support me,". "She just pushed me away saying that she's a horrible person and that I deserve someone better,".

Sam seems to be a bit flustered about the whole situation.

"For the life of me I can't figure out why she thinks she's horrible,". "I know I only knew her for maybe a couple of months,". "But for the life of me I can't figure out why she thinks she's a bad person,". "It's almost like she's trying to protect me from her,". "Yet I don't know why I need to be kept safe from her,".

Sam seems to be thinking about the situation.

"We talked yesterday and I even told her,". "I tried to tell that I am a bad person myself,". "Heck the two girls that were my best friends before,". "One of them put the other in the hospital and I put the other in the hospital,". "I tried telling her I was cursed,".

"I also told her I know what it's like to have a secret and how hard it is to tell someone you care for,". "So tell me when you feel ready,". "She thought I was calling her a coward when that wasn't the intention at all,". "Basically, it took me saying let's be friends and me tackling and tickling her to make her laugh and smile,". "Even though she's surprisingly strong I tried reaching for her feet and she easily kicked me into the air,".

"Does this help at all or am I just making the situation worse?" Sam seems a bit down herself.

Leia

Natsumi looks at the board for a minute.  "Flounder!" she announces.  "It's really light and kinda sweet."  Natsumi orders two lightly friend flounder with baked potatoes.  While you sit and wait, she stares out the window.  "Ever been out in the ocean, Leia-person?  Really out-out in the ocean?"


Nora

Alice looks blank.  "I don't...  I don't... really know?" she says.  "I like chess, and I like doing the trivia club... and I like being around you.  But I always just threw myself ahead without really asking if I was enjoying it...  No.  No, I did like my role and what I used to do.  But it's not an option anymore...  I tried a few things when I was younger but there was nothing that really popped out as things I really loved...  I did... did think to try going to other clubs to try to explore some new ideas, but, well... you saw how that went.  Probably can't do art, or soccer, or wrestling...  Dunno if I even want to go through with the play, since I only tried out because of Mattea fucking with me, and she... is an absolute bastard."  Alice clenches her fist, then lets it go and sighs.  "So I'm back to not knowing what to do.  What I loved to do, what I could still do... was taken from me and there's nothing I could do to get it back."  She pauses, then sneers.  "Short of tossing Mattea down an elevator shaft."  She lets out a bitter laugh.  "Don't worry.  I'm not that far gone."  She takes a deep breath.  "What would you do?  If you couldn't do anything that you loved any more."


Sam

Freya snorts with laughter.  "Well that was a mistake.  Even I can't out-wrestle her.  And trying to tickle her?  You were just asking to get your ass kicked."  She folds her arms, makes sure no one is around - the beach is nearly deserted at this hour in October - then flops onto the beach.  "So my sister is keeping secrets from not just me but also you, huh...  Yeah, I dunno what's got her bee in a bonnet.  Wait, that's... not the right saying.  Well, whatever.  Either way it sounds like it's time to start trying to figure things out...  Don't suppose you know a private eye or something?"


Tai

Kiran keeps pace with you, right up until you call it quits and get out of the water at which point he faceplants onto the beach.  "That was fun," he says, muffled by the sand.  "Let's do it again sometime.  Give me a call anytime."

"Not really,". "Well there may be someone who can help but not sure she is what you would call a private eye,". "The fortune teller lady Marenna may be able to help,". "But I don't think she's exactly a private eye," Sam says.

"We could try that," Sam suggests.

"Or me and you could go to a stake house,". "No that's not right,". "We could follow her umm go on a stake out and find out that way,". "Oh I can call her other good friend Floyd and the three of us could find out together," Sam suggests.

"I don't think we need to go that far just yet..." Freya says. "Probably? Maybe. Hm. I'll think about it some more. If she doesn't stop being all weird soon. And if it comes to it you're gonna help me."

Nora

"Well... It let me help people, but in a way I'm good at. Numbers. Orders. Plans."

"Hmm, I see, I see... Why don't we look for a job that fulfills those same needs for you? That could be a new temporary goal for you. And we would look for it together, of course. I'd help you every step of the way."

"What company would possibly hire an injured, inexperienced high schooler for some kind of position like that..."

Nora smiles. "You might be surprised, dear. Now, I'm not saying it'll be easy or fast... But it is something we can work towards, no? Give you something to focus on again, that isn't either the end of the world or the past."

"The past, huh... I sound like some washed-up old lady." She gives a weak, sad smile. "And here I was thinking I was just going to get to relax and enjoy my last year..."

"I'm sorry, Alice..."

"The only thing you did wrong was not get here in time to see the old me."

"Really? I don't see it from that perspective. I think I got here exactly when I needed to, so I could be here when you needed me most. And I got to fall for a beautiful girl in the process, so win-win, hm?"

"I'm still not going easy on you next round."

Nora laughs. "I should hope not! That would take away all the fun."

Alice sighs and goes to take another bite of her bagel, finally noticing it missing from her hand. "H-huh?"

Nora takes out an extra bagel from the bag. "Here you go, dear. A Seagull took your old one."

"What? But... How? When?" She stares. "I... must be more tired than I realized."

"Oh, it definitely seems that way. Maybe just spend the rest of today resting, hm?"

"Yeah... Goodnight, Nora..." Alice gives you a kiss on the cheek before she leaves.

Nora waves. "Never did get to tell her about what I learned from Mareena... Oh well. This was more important."

Nora gained a Kindness!
Nora feels like her bond with Alice will grow stronger soon.

Nora will spend her afternoon by going to the mall and seeing if Mareena needs any help in her shop.
