Dewey, Sam

"OK, this works. Let's move!" Buttons says. He charges out of the restaurant, shovel raised. He starts to disappear into the mist with the other forward team.

Your group follows after them, but you get cut off when a giant, ghostly dog leaps down from the roof in front of you. It starts barking and snarling. "What?" Gamma asks. "Isn't that Kiran's dog... Uh, Dogachu? Wh- UGH!"

You turn to find a shadowy Somnis lurking in the mists, a dagger in Gamma's back. It rips the knife free, flips, and lands next to Dogachu in a fighting stance.

“No need to figure out what will work against this one, I think I can guess…”
Dewey casts Mystic Gleam on Shadow Somnis.

Leia

"...Zack?  Ew," Gamma says.  There's a pause.  "Ew.  Ew..."

Leia and her group run out, slipping past the shadows and continuing towards the riverbank.

"This way," Buttons calls out.  "If she's at the site of the accident, we need to get over the bridge, then- Oh, shit.  Really?"

Buttons stares at a ghostly version of himself, standing in the middle of the road, shovel on his shoulder.

A phantasmal Leia steps out from behind Buttons, fully armored and ready to fight.


Sam, Dewey

With Gamma still hunched over after the backstabbing, Featherhat leaps forward to join the fight.

"Foul specters! If it's battle you want, then battle you shall receive! Have at-" A small bird comes swooping down and lands on his hat, chirping quietly as it drops off a small parchment. Featherhat reads it, looking annoyed. "You serious, bird? At a time like this!? Comrades! The bird carries a request: successfully prevent one of the shades from attacking with a status ailment. Fulfill these terms, and you shall be rewarded!" Featherhat tosses the parchment aside, puts one hand behind his back, and waits. "No more interruption, have at you!"

“No need to figure out what will work against this one, I think I can guess…” Dewey says, shining a bright light at Shadow Somnis.  The creature recoils, then fades into nothingness.

"I hope you're ready because the forecast is calling for a little Raine," Sam says.  She starts dancing and water begins falling from the clouds.

"I think it's calling for a little more than that..." Raine says.  She points her umbrella up and a storm of stars begin raining down.  One strikes Dogachu, who growls and seems badly injured from the hit.  He starts growling and barking, and everyone feels an overwhelming desire to attack him.

Leia's panicked expression she had this whole time seems to change to anger... Maybe even madness as she scream out of rage, slamming her baseball bat into her doppleganger as an explosion of light comes out.

Light Aura Spread: Leia's weapon is filled with a light aura. She then attacks with her weapon, causing light damage. The light aura spreads on impact. The bigger the enemy is, the more damage it takes. [Zack 3]

Dewey, Sam

"Yes, that's my NAME!" Raine yells, bashing the dog with her umbrella.

The shadowdog shuffles back and howls again, two more heads sprouting out of its neck as he grows in size.  The heads narrow their eyes through the rain as they look among all of you, seemingly only inconvenienced by the attacks.

Dewey unleashes another burst of light, expecting a dramatic effect.  Instead, the giant beast just starts growling louder.

"Keep your wits about you!" Featherhat says, maintaining a defensive stance. "There may be more of them waiting to stab us in the back."

As Featherhat says this, he feels a sharp stab in his back as Somnis reforms from the mist and buries a knife in him.  The pain subsides as his key starts to hum.


Leia

Leia smashes the fake Leia, unleashing a burst of light.  Fake Leia jumps back, then drops a big smiling shrine between herself and her notself.

Freya kicks a ball at fake Leia, but it bounces off the shrine and comes flying back at her face, bouncing off with a loud thud.  Fake Buttons takes advantage of her momentary daze to swing his shovel and smack her in the gut.  Freya staggers back as Kiran steps forward, pulling a giant mallet out of his hat and swinging it at Fake Buttons' head.  Fake Buttons shuffles back and ducks the attack, only for the real Buttons to swing his shovel into his knees.

Upon realizing Shadow Somnis is still in the fight, Dewey hits her with another Mystic Gleam.
“Tighten formation and cover each other’s backs, we need to stop her from ambushing anyone else.”
