I don't abandon everything. And I've never left work for other people before. I don't know what that's supposed to even mean. I thought I'd make this system as a nice gift, but I'll keep it if you don't want it.

Hey, speak for yourselves! I'm still very interested in the concept and think it's got potential. I usually protest people taking more than they can handle, but it seems like the multiple GMs is an intentional override of this.

Before I give my opinion, I'm confused about your goal.
Do you want a game where the first GM to show up updates the game
Or
Do you want a game where every player have their own GM
Or
Do you want a game where every area has a different GM
Or
Do you want something else entirely?

Hmm. Something more like the first one.
Basically, I want to set up a game with a clear system that any of us can update without interrupting the flow of the game. I'll be giving you examples and rules and stuff soon.

Alright, so say User 1 decides he wants to head out into Monster Forest to fight some monsters.
Moderator 1 decides to advance him into the forest and checks the random encounter specifics for Monster Forest to determine what monsters User 1 will run into. Moderator 1 sets up the battle, displaying the party's health and info and the monsters' health and info.
User 1 posts their attacks and actions to fight the monsters.
Moderator 1 is busy with work at that time, so he's not online, but Moderator 2 is online and looking for something to update, so he picks up after Moderator 1 and creates a post for User 1. Moderator 2 checks the battle AI for the monsters in battle, checking to see what attacks it will use next and then creates a new post for User 1, detailing the affects of last turn and then posting the status of both parties.
User 1 posts their attacks and actions to fight the monsters.
Moderator 1 is back and decides he wants to update User 1's fight again although it doesn't matter which moderator updates it. He makes the post for User 1's victory against the monsters, detailing how he won and then posts drops from the monster's info and explains if anyone leveled up or learned new skills.
User 1 casts a healing spell on some party members and chooses to advance through the forest.
And it goes on and on like that. Do you get it?

To be honest, this just sounds like a scenario where all GM will update at the same time and leave the players with 4 different results to the same move.
With that said, my friends and me are doing an XCOM styled game with no GM. We're 4 players and each of us have our characters.
How it works is that there's 4 enemy factions. I'll spare the details, but we roll dice until we get a mission. The faction we fight is random.
Each of us control a different enemy faction: Humans, Cyberns, Swarmers and Spore Spawns. The last one being the enemy faction I control. So basically, if the dice roll makes it so we're going on a mission against the Spore Spawns, I GM the mission and my characters are off limit.
So here's my proposition. Each GM, whom you seem to want to be the four staff members, create an enemy faction for the game. It doesn't change the fact that each player has their objectives, the system is still clear, etc. All it changes is who control the enemies and when.
So basically we could communicate together. Say "hey. Malefio's enemy faction is in this area right now." This would mean I GM any player who goes there when my enemy faction is there. This also means that obviously, I won't send my player character there.
Does that make any sense to you?

But then it's no different from a normal game. The idea was to make this as efficient as possible and to decrease wait times for updates as that's often a complaint users have.
I don't think there's going to be much of an issue with updating...it feels like most of us are on at different times anyway. But...
If you want to, we can split up each player into having a main and secondary moderator. Basically, if the main moderator is online, they're expected to update and the secondary and other moderators don't update that person's stuff. However, if the main is offline and the secondary is online, the secondary is expected to update. If neither are online and one of the other moderators are looking for something to do, they can update that person as an extra update.
Will this system help with the issues you're concerned about?

I mean... I'm fully willing to try it, but I see the potential confusion arising from useless posts.

I haven't decided what I want to do with character progression yet...
Specifically, skills and learning skills.
Does anyone have any suggestions they'd like to make?

I've got experience with all of it!
I just need to know what kinda skills system you want so I can put it together.

That would be a classic RP, which I'm not doing. I don't feel like putting in the effort for something like that.
You're free to make one here on your own, but if what you want is just players writing, I suggest you go to the Verse to make an RP. Most people on here just play games because they don't have time or interest for writing paragraph RPs. You'll have more people interested in joining there and things are set up better for that style anyway. That said, I won't stop you from making an RP here. In fact, you're more than welcome. I just don't think this is an environment where RPs survive, y'know?

Yeah, that's the problem here, isn't it? A criminal lack of effort. On multiple fronts. You want everyone to do the work for you, nobody wants to do the work. And yet, I don't give a damn about the Verse people or have any connection to them. So I end up missing out.
