Tai (Butts, Mattea, Grant)
You open fire towards Mattea, firing over her shoulder. She sweeps her fan at it as it passes, twirling in place. As you keep firing, she keeps spinning, opening her second fan and producing more and more wind. The shots you fire get caught in the revolving current, swirling in the expanding tornado ring. The enemies begin to lift off of the ground and into the air, the bullets bouncing between them chaotically. The winds begin to rise, filled with monsters and sand and clanging bullets as Mattea spins closer and closer to you. You stop firing and start loading more energy into one shot. As Mattea reaches your side, she crouches, sweeps her arm upward, and leaps up herself, flinging the mess of monsters and herself upward. You finish your preparations and aim a large shot straight up, firing just past Mattea and piercing through all the enemies at once. Mattea floats down and lands in your arms surprisingly gently. She tosses an arm around your neck, kicks her leg out, giggles, and gives you a kiss as the enemies rain down and thud into the soft sand around you.
"Damn," Buttons says. He walks up to the golem that survived and bashes it with his shovel before it gets up.
"What was that...?" Grant asks.
Mattea takes her time with the kiss, sighing and panting when she finally pulls away. "Whew... I'm exhausted."

Leia (Freya, Natsumi, Kiran)
Kiran, unusually, is the first to act. He walks up to one of the massive worms and slaps it. The worm doesn't seem particularly bothered.
Leia runs up to one of the worms and sticks a scroll on it. A second worm appears, a slightly different color. It slams the worm it came from, narrowly missing Leia. The other worm slams back, and the two begin coiling around and biting at each other.
Freya runs up and kicks the worm Kiran had slapped, causing it to flop back a bit.
Natsumi thinks for a moment. Her shadow seems to be back to normal, but her cat continues to be nowhere in sight. "Let's try... this one!" she says. A small, green, orb-like monster appears beside her, floating in place.
"Whoa... Cool," Freya says. "Little guy kinda looks like a soccer ball."
All three of the remaining worms rear back then stab into the ground, burrowing insanely fast for creatures that size. You can feel the sand shifting around you, but not tell where the enemies are.
"Look out!" Natsumi warns. "They're about to try something!"
Nora (Alice)
"Unnecessary," the one with the scimitars says.
"I should warn you, Malatyne. Monsters are attracted to people and strong emotions. Putting too many people in one place during the stress of fighting is risky," Alice explains.
"Yeah, what she said. Besides, wasn't your objective to save Raine or whatever?" Axe asks.
"We split up to investigate," Alice says. She pauses as her phone buzzes, taking a quick look at it. "Looks like the other group found her. We need to make our way down to the... lava? What?"
"Oh... Yeah? Don't worry, there's plenty of safe walkways down there," Shield says. They gesture with the sword to the left. "That path'll take you down there pretty quick."
"I see," Alice says. "...Thanks."
"Not a problem!" Club says. "Think you two will be OK on your own?"
"We'll manage," Alice says. She takes your hand and starts guiding you down that path. Behind you, you hear them starting to attract more monsters.
The path soon slopes downward sharply, and a red glow is visible on the horizon. "So... You're taking all this rather well. Are you do-"
Alice's question is interrupted as the wall beside you explodes. A pair of short, scaly, vaguely humanoid creatures lunge at you through the hole before you can react. One slashes at Alice and rakes its claws across her chest as she tries to ready her sword. The other bites into your thigh before you manage to kick it off. Alice shifts in front of you as you prepare to respond.

Sam (Tom)
"Yep! Still got it," Raine says. "I could transform now, but I'm worried it would snap the thread. Um... How about you just call me when you're close? I'll take that as my signal to start climbing down."
"Yeah," Tom says, already sending out a message. "And I told Alice to meet us downstairs. Hm... Downstairs, huh... Y'know... Probably safer for us to find another way down, but I guess we could toss some rocks down and hop over to Raine instead of her having to get off that string and onto the makeshift bridge."
