Nora grins as she snakes her tail around Alice's leg. She then turns her attention to the giant lava golem.
"My, this thing looks rather dangerous... But no match for us working together, right love?"
Nora will cast Eldritch Blast at the Lava Golem.
(Reminder that she gets a slight boost in damage on all her spells from all allies present)

Leia just look up in the air, then let herself fall on her back, a dumbfounded expression in her face. She stays there, unmoving, not even looking at her vibrating phone, lazily grabbing the monster materials as slowly as she can.
She talks, but her voice is very quiet, yet graver than usual.
"I... Di... Did we win? Is everyone okay? Is... Is the mission completed?
I... I... I think I need better equipment, but I only did it once...
How do we craft stuff again?

Tai (Butts, Mattea, Grant)
"Alright... We can head down through one of the holes. The underground shifts and changes over time, but I can navigate it easily enough," Grant says. He looks around for a moment, then points to what looks like an innocuous patch of sand. "This one."
Buttons walks over, looking around, then suddenly drops through the ground. "Wh-"
"Huh... Alright. But if I get a bunch of sand in my outfit, I'm going to be upset with you, Grant." Mattea hops up and drops into the hole.
Grant is next, and you bring up the rear.
You find yourselves inside of a small cave system that Grant and his large form barely fit into. The walls are lined with sparkling crystals, which Mattea is admiring with extreme interest. "So pretty..."
"We're here to find the others," Buttons reminds her, dusting himself off.
Grant looks around for a moment. "We should start by finding where the portal is and making sure the escape route's secure."
"Oh, I do hope we run into more of those golem things..."
Grant leads you down a few paths. You notice your key is still buzzing slightly, though Buttons' seems to have calmed down.
As you round a corner, Grant stops and holds out an arm. "Ambush," he says. He points to a section of wall. At first you don't see anything, then you notice a section looks a bit off. "Let's hit them first."
Leia (Freya, Natsumi, Kiran)
"We haven't gotten any signal that the mission's complete," Kiran says. "But it looks like the others went underground, too."
"It might be best for us to retreat, though..." Natsumi says.
Freya, doubled over panting, shakes her head. "I can... keep going."
Natsumi frowns. "Alright... But um... Right, crafting. Your key will handle it."
"Oh, yeah... Raine didn't really get to explain. We came here to gather materials for equipment in the first place," Freya says.
"...That's why you were here?" Natsumi asks.
"Um... Yeah. I wanted to surprise you with... Er... a new outfit... And... impress you?" Freya says.
"...Freya..." Natsumi pulls her mask down over her face. "OK, well... you take your key and give it the materials while envisioning whether you're trying to make armor or a weapon... Um... You need five identical materials as the base, then you can modify it with up to three other materials. Um... different materials do different things and look different, so, um... Yep."
"Should... I try now?" Freya asks.
"...If you want," Natsumi says quietly.
Sam, Nora (Alice, Tom)
Alice makes a small sound and tugs her leg free as the golem begins to slide forward.
Sam summons a sphere of light around the party. Tom holds his chain out and blows through it. Metal shards go flying off and coat the lava golem. It doesn't react.
Nora draws a small sigil in the air and fires a mass of jiggling tentacles. They slam into the golem and smash it repeatedly as they dissolve. Alice readies her sword and stabs it into the monster. She holds it in place. The monster drags her along as it continues advancing. Magma rolls over Alice, completely engulfing her for a moment. Alice pulls her sword free and staggers back. "Ah... Ow, ow, ow... Don't let it touch you!"
Raine continues to descend.

Tai
Tai summons a gale of wind that surrounds Grant. He goes charging at the fake wall, slamming it with his hammer. A pair of humanoid, lizard-like creatures fall out. Grant turns and smashes one with his hammer. It goes flying into the wall. Buttons follows up and smashes it with his shovel. Mattea flips her fan and sends a gust of wind into it. The creature collapses before it can even attack.
The second creature recovers and leaps on Grant. It stabs Grant, making a useless scraping noise against his armor.
While the battle continues, Tai hears the sound of footsteps approaching from behind. He looks back to see Raine, Tom, Nora, Alice, and Sam approaching.
Nora, Sam
The creature roars and sends drops of magma flying all across the arena. A few droplets collide with the light orb and slide down, forming a ring around the edges of the rock. Most penetrate through, raining down on everyone gathered with a painful heat.
"Ah, jeez... That... really, really hurts," Tom says. He swings his chain behind him and starts running at the monster before stepping into a puddle. He slips and lands partway in it before hurriedly rolling to the side. "Ah, FUCK that hurts!" He resumes his attack, managing to slam the creature with his chain. A few drops go flying off and strike him in the face. Tom recoils and staggers back towards the rear of the line. A quiet buzzing sound is audible from his pocket. "Damn. I can't hit it, and it doesn't seem like it has eyes... I'm no good here. I'll fall back and make sure our way out stays clear."
"Do it. Last thing we need is another person to save," Alice says. She leaps and stabs into the creature, flecks of magma spraying her as she shuffles back, narrowly avoiding the puddles.
Nora finishes quietly reciting a passage from her tome with a hiss. A mass of tentacles appears on the ground at her side.
Small shards of metal fly off of Sam's sword and surround the monster before slicing it from different angles. The monster surges blindly, flinging molten bits to strike back at the shards.
Raine, near the bottom of the hole, grabs a small crystal jutting out from the wall and catches herself. Hanging halfway out of the tube, she quickly surveys the situation. "Oh, dear... Are we fighting that... ugly... thing now?"
"That would be a yes! Hello, dear! Nice to meet you, but let's save the pleasantries for later!" Nora says.
"Raine? Raine is that you?" Sam asks. "Oh thank goodness your safe. All we have to deal with is this stupid golem then we can finally go home. Then I can hug you and beg for forgiveness from you, Freya, and Tia."
Raine looks down at Sam and shifts herself, using one arm and her legs to hold herself horizontally at the hole's exit. She takes her umbrella in her free hand and points it at the party. "Fight now, Sam. Beg later." A fine mist sprays from the tip, covering the area enough to make it harder to see. Harder to see someone a human's size, anyway. Still hard to miss the giant, glowing magma monster.
Tom starts to withdraw back towards the exit, careful to avoid the pools along the way. The golem notices and starts to surge towards him, sliding up and onto the rocks.
"Oh, no you don't!" Alice yells. She reverses the grip on her sword and stabs deep into the monster. At first it keeps pushing her back like she's not even there, then Alice shifts her stance and slams her heels into the ground. The monster slows, but keeps sliding as it starts to slowly engulf her.
Nora and Sam see the opportunity to take a few clear shots. Sam tosses a rod up towards Raine, with the puffball now sitting on her back catching it to fling stars back down at the creature. Nora stomps down on the mass of tentacles at her feet and it hisses, flailing at her leg as it dissolves into a deep blue mist. The mist runs up Nora's side, gathering at her palm before erupting as a beam that pierces through the monster, leaving a large hole that quickly fills as the semi-solid monster reforms itself.
It produces a glowing red arm from its side. With no one else in easy reach, it snatches Alice and hoists her into the air, winding back to toss her.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to kindly ask you to not," Nora says.
"Hmm guys I have an idea. What if we can blast a whole in that thing again?" Sam asks.
"I think it's closing itself too fast," Raine says. "You probably can't tell from down there, but it's getting smaller! Just keep blasting away at it!"
The monster starts to throw as Nora and Raine both concentrate their attack on its arm. A stream of small, green orbs fires from Raine's umbrella and blow through it in multiple spots. Nora fires what looks like another of her small creatures, though this one explodes. The weakened arm collapses from the force of the impact.
Nora tries to catch Alice as she falls, but Alice twists away from her and towards the monster. She stabs into it as she drops, using it to slow her fall and leaving a deep gash in the process. When she lands, she quickly hops away from the beast, almost slipping in one of the lingering pools but managing to keep her balance. "Sorry... Malatyne. Too hot. Would've hurt you." Alice shakes herself and large globs of glowing magma fly off of her. "Next time."
The monster roars and starts sending large flecks of itself across the platform again, some splashing on Raine as she continues to hold herself up on the ceiling. Alice's key, hanging from her neck, begins to glow brightly and let out an ominous buzz.
Kirbi continues to shoot stars at the creature as it slinks from the platform, making its way back towards the magma lake. As Sam pelts it from all sides with her sword, she can tell the monster's gotten noticeably smaller, barely half the size it was before.
"You jerk. You dare harm these nice people that came to help me. I think it's time for you to Chill," Sam says.
Sam starts to dance and water begins to collect on the ceiling before raining down and collecting around the field.
"Ah, perfect..." Raine says. Her umbrella pops open and a cluster of blue stars drop through the monster.
The monster roars again, this one shriller and weaker. It forms another arm, this one tipped with a large ball of magma. It slams down on the platform, knocking Sam and Alice over. Sam lands in a puddle of water mixed with magma, quickly crawling out as it stings her. Alice manages to avoid the puddles, but her key still glows brighter.
Nora drops down, driving her heel into the monster's face. The magma splashes up her leg and engulfs her ankle for a moment before the monster slows and hardens, cool enough to not hurt but trapping her foot and leaving her stuck in the air.
The water on the floor hardens, covering the magma puddles.
Alice runs to the bottom of the monster and slices it with her sword. It doesn't spray back at her this time. "There... this is our chance to finish it off!"
Nora tugs at her leg, then starts preparing a spell. "Well, that didn't work out quite as I intended, but happy accidents and all that!"
Nora aims at the monster's head and blasts it open at point blank. With her leg suddenly freed, Nora jolts back from the force of trying to keep herself steady in the air.
Sam flings her blades towards the hole's opening, sending more chunks falling to the ground.
"I'm coming down, Sam! You better catch me!" Raine lets herself drop, swinging towards the monster. As she falls, she fires another burst of stars. Large pieces of it drop off.
"The core... where is... ah!" Alice grabs the hardened monster and swings herself up, then stabs her sword deep into its chest. She hops back, staring at the monster as it collapses, then looking to Raine and Nora.
The monster begins to shudder, then the remaining magma loses its cohesion and falls apart, turning into a large puddle that quickly starts melting through the frozen layer.
Nora flies back down to a safer spot, breathing heavily. "So... is it dead?"
Raine drops down towards Sam, popping her umbrella to slow her fall and carefully landing in her arms.
Alice stabs her sword into the ground, leaning against it as she pants heavily. "Yep... Pretty dead," she confirms. "Still OK, Malatyne?"
Nora's clearly favoring her leg. "My leg hurts and I don't seem to be healing as quickly as before, and I'm so exhausted I'd probably pass out if it weren't for the adrenaline... But other than that, I'm fiiiiine."
Sam will then hug Raine and bury her head into Raine's shoulder and just begin to sob. "Raine I am so so so so so sorry for putting you through this. I am sorry I put so many lives in danger. Put most importantly I am so glad your fine and your safe. I am just so glad you here in my arms. Sob sob (sniff). Raine, Nora, Alice, and Tom can you guys ever forgive me for putting you through all of this?"
"It's this heat..." Alice explains. "The others mentioned it was causing trouble for them in the Magma Caverns, too... They had to craft some special heat-resistant armor... I think they gathered the materials from the monsters up on the beach..."
Raine wriggles out of Sam's grip. "Sam, stop panicking...!
Remember what happened last time? Get up, we need to go!"
"I am not panicking these are happy tears. I am just so glad your safe," Sam says.
"Heat resistant armor, hm... Will need to remember that. But we can leave now, right? Then let's go before anything else shows up. Jeez, this heat is murder for my skin..."

"Right... grab whatever it dropped and let's get going!" Alice says.
"Yeah..." Raine says.
You begin moving back the way you came and find Tom waiting just outside inside the tunnels. "Hey. Looks like you all made it OK... Good."
"What about you?" Alice asks.
"Yeah. Key's working fine again," Tom says. "Didn't expect to be fighting a bunch of fire monsters."
"Oh right now that we have time to breath?". "What do you think of my new armor?". "I made it before we went to come and find you," Sam asks.
"Oh, in all the excitement I didn't notice..." Raine says. "Oh, um... it's, well, nice but um... very... revealing..." She laughs nervously. "Oh, dear... is that what, um... my armor will look like...?" She pauses walking for a moment, placing her hands on her cheeks.
Your group continues to make its way back up the winding tunnels. Tom takes the lead, but you realize you don't know exactly where the exit is. As you get closer to the surface, Alice's phone buzzes. She takes a look, then frowns. "That was from our 'friends' in the suits. They said if we head towards where they were holed up, the exit portal isn't far. We should hurry - I didn't think warn you before, Malatyne, but the portals will disappear at dawn and we'll be trapped here until they open again. Which would be bad."
You change course, Alice carefully recalling your steps until the tunnels start to look more familiar. As you reach the spot where you ran into the others, you hear the sounds of fighting not far off. "This way," Tom says.
After a short moment, you see Grant in his giant, armored form, barely fitting into the tunnel. He, Buttons, Tai, and Mattea are fighting against some of the lizard-esque creatures that ambushed you before. They don't seem to be having any trouble.

"Ah, look, both friends and more monsters, how wonderful..."
Nora will lazily lob an Eldritch Blast at one of the lizard creatures, but will otherwise stay out of the fight unless necessary. "Seems like you all have this in hand, hm? See you back at the portal. Bye."

"Well umm maybe your armor will be different?" Sam replies. "Even though I kinda of hope it isn't as different," Sam thinks to herself.
Anyways Sam will summon a Discus and toss it towards the lizard creatures. Sam will also make sure to stick close to the group while being careful not to get to close to the fighting.
"I know I have a lot of explaining to do when we get back home,". "Sigh not really looking forward to it,". Sam say chasing after the others through the portal. Sam has the look of a puppy who knows they did bad and knows they are about to be scolded.

Mattea starts dancing for the lizard, and it seems to forget it's in the middle of a fight. While it's distracted, Grant and Buttons slam it into the wall with their weapons. Tai takes a shot with each of his guns and it slumps to the ground, dissolving into materials.

"Oh, hello..." Mattea says. She holds up a loincloth and glances to Tai. "I think I'd look damn good in something made of crystal, but maybe you'd prefer something like this..."
Tai, Nora, Sam
Raine sighs and shakes her head at Sam. "Could you stop already? No one's mad, Sam. Things happen. This place is dangerous."
Nora starts to leave, and Alice turns her back around. "We're heading out through a different portal, Malatyne. Hey, Grant! Can you lead the way?"
"Oh, yeah. Come on, the closest way out's not far. This way!" He takes off at a slow walk, but his large size makes it hard to keep pace with him.
Alice, struggling to walk, does what she can to help Nora along. Raine takes Sam's hand and pulls her along near the front.
"The tunnels shift and change every day," Grant says. "But the portal remains in about the same place. And I can always tell the layout... There."
You round a corner to find a glowing portal. As you start walking forward, Alice raises a hand. "Hold on. Just in case our 'friends' are waiting out there to see who we are without our masks, let me go first. They already know me."
"...I don't like this idea," Buttons says. "What if they're planning to attack us when we don't have our armor or something?"
"Then all the better only one person take that risk," Alice says.
"Yeah, but you're, y'know... still kind of injured?" Mattea reminds her.
"Someone else should go," Tom says. "Literally anyone el-"
Raine walks through the portal while the others are debating. A few seconds later, she reappears. "All clear!" she announces.
Move to Beach.
Leia
You take out some materials and press them to your key in sequence, each being absorbed. After a moment the bat tattoo changes. When you pull out your weapon, you find it's still a bat but covered in thick webbing. Beneath you can see black shell, pulsing and cracking and throbbing.
Got Sticky Bat (Hit +10, Phys +5, Anti-Aether +2, Lifesteal +2)
"Good news!" Natsumi announces. "They've got Raine and are on the way out. Let's wait up here a bit just to be safe, OK?"
Freya falls to her knees. "Oh, thank goodness..." She shakes her head, looks at Leia's weapon, then hops back up. "Ah, right! That's what I was here for! Um... OK! Yeah, I think I understand how to do it. Let's go." She places a few pieces in her key, then a metallic sheen appears over her soccer ball, some of the faces marked with razor-sharp teeth. She looks at it suspiciously, then picks it up. "Huh, this isn't heavy at all." She tosses it in the air a few times, then takes her key and focuses. The ball returns to normal. She tries again, and the metal reappears. "Sweet!"
Metal Ball (Phys+13, Lethality +3, Hit -2)
"Cool ball, Freya," Kiran says. "Looks way more threatening."
"Yeah! Alright, I was going to try making some armor, too..." Freya says. She repeats the process again. This time, after she finishes, she swings her key and her body flashes. Her outfit changes to an outfit perfect for beach volleyball: an athletic top and a bikini-esque bottom with a bare midriff. Her hair is tied back in a ponytail and her eyes are hidden behind thick, black sunglasses. She's barefoot but has a string anklet with three charms in the shape of glowing seashells.
Beach Volleyballer (Water Res +10, Fire Res +10, Evade +8, Defense +3, Elec Res -5)
"Whoa!" Kiran says. "You look awesome. Perfect for a match on the beach!"
"Mm-hm, very cute," Natsumi agrees.
"Do you think?" Freya says, examining herself. "Yeah, this is pretty nice... Fits really well, too. Though, uh..." Freya looks to her feet with a frown, then at her metal soccer ball. "This... seems like it might be a problem?"
"It'll be fine," Natsumi assure her. "Give it a try!"
Freya's frown widens, then she shrugs, closes her eyes, and punts the ball. "...Huh. You're right. Didn't hurt at all." The ball bounces in the sand, then quickly rolls back to her.
While Freya is distracted, Natsumi puts a few materials in her key. When everyone turns back from watching Freya, she's wearing a new outfit. A black kimono hangs loosely over her shoulders and down to her ankles, decorated in silver strands like spiderwebs, and she stands a bit taller than normal in wooden sandals. Her hair is loose instead of tied and her upper back barely peeks out beneath. Four long, spider-like legs sprout from her back and reach around her arms, crossing themselves over her chest. Her pale-white mask has six fake eyes drawn around the eyeholes, bright lips, and glowing cheeks.
Eerie Jorogumo (Evade +13, Poison Res +10, Def +8, Elect Res +5, Fire Res -10)
Natsumi looks at herself, flexing the extra legs then quickly grabbing herself again. "Ah... That's weird. That feels very, very weird... And I look, um..."
"Good? Cute?" Kiran asks.
"Not... quite..." Natsumi mutters.
"More, uh... mature than cute," Freya says.
"Ah. Sexy," Kiran says. "Yeah, I agree."
"That... isn't what I meant..." Freya says.
"Yes it is, you just don't have the balls to say it!" Kiran retorts. "Natsumi! Your new outfit is sexy and it looks great on you. And you, Freya. You look damn good, too. And while we're at it, Leia! You were really kicking some ass earlier. If you want to someone a compliment, then just suck it up and do it. Jeez."

Natsumi is the first to speak. "Yes, well... thank you, Kiran? Why don't we head back to our world and wait for the others?"

You head to the Beach and step through the portal from the cold, dark beach onto the brightly shining, white sands by the blood-red sea, illuminated by a cliff covered in shining gems. Mareena stretches before she takes out her key and transforms. "Well, then, Malatyne... Why don't you give those wings a stretch and fly up a bit while I start my investigation? Just straight up is fine, until you can see over those cliff. I'll try to catch you if you fall."
