"Just put her in one of the boxes. We can pick up Levi while we do that."

"One last thing." Walk into the storage room and restore orb items. "Okay, let's go in the break room. I'm pretty sure a bullshit boss is in there, but whatever."

Kitty

You take a nap in the break room. You wake up feeling refreshed.

When you come back out, you find Levi, Ranulf, and not-Inari waiting. You should probably pick one to be a proper party member for this.

Awkward continues to follow his auto-pilot setting and walk behind you.

All the other NPCs are either in cages or working.

That orange poof-cat has inserted itself into Somnis' cage.


You walk up to the break room door.

You sense a dangerous presence.

Kitty

You step into the room.  It into a grassy clearing, surrounded by a several large trees.  Despite the daylight in the parking lot, it seems to be night here; the area is well-lit by a full moon and bright stars.  You can see shadows of monsters darting along in the foliage.

"Why would you want to get out of here?  This is your home now.  There's no need to be afraid.  I'll keep you safe..."

Alice is waiting in the center of the room.  Her normal blue dress is replaced with a white miniskirt with a large green gem embedded in the center.  Her hair is longer, and curls around her like a large umbrella.  Her white sash is replaced with a gold one which holds tomes in every element, as well as a collection of 5 pokeballs.

She's the same as Raine, edited to the point she's visibly corrupted, though not to quite such a degree.



"I'll keep them safe...  I'll keep them all safe.  Here, with me...  And you...  No.  You...  You want to take them away from me!  I won't let you!  I am the guardian of this place!"

She grabs the balls from her belt and throws them all at once.  Several figures emerge alongside her.  A man who immediately shifts into a white-furred bear.  A male taguel.  A Mismagius.  A small, flying fairy.  And a forest folk wearing spiked knuckles.  Alice herself takes up an Arcwind tome and braces for battle.

"If you won't surrender, then I'll have to take you by force!"

Ranulf, Ansei, and Levi step into the room with you, transforming into two cats and a fox.

"Finally, a decent warm-up!" Ranulf says.

"Running sounds good..." Inari says.

"Jeez, what the Hell?  She's the one that's been keeping us locked up?  Hang on, isn't that...  Dammit, Alice!  I'm gonna knock some sense back into you!" Levi calls.

"Mrrrow..." The orange cat growls as it hops up on your shoulder.


Awkward falls over.

Kitty

You throw the Y at Alice and ask her everyone's backstories.

"I don't know.  I woke up not long ago.  I was born to protect everyone here.  Your nemesis told me you were coming, and that I must fight you.  And I've been waiting here ever since.  With my precious babies.  And you all broke in to take them away!"

Alice's explanation of everything she knows doesn't take very long, but it keeps her busy for a bit.

Levi rushes for Alice while she's talking.  The bear jumps in the way and swings at him.  Levi skids and leaps over the slash, bouncing off the bear's chest with a slash.

The taguel and Ranulf wrestle with each other.  Ranulf takes the advantage until the small fairy starts shooting lightning bolts to provide cover.

Ansei starts muttering a spell when the monk shoots a ball of spiritual energy at him.  He stops the spell and jumps out of way.

The Mismagius disappears.  You leap to the side in time to avoid as it tries to tackle you from behind.  It looks at you.  "Ma-"

"BWEEEEEP!"  You blast the bird horn as loud as you can.  A lot, lot, lot of creatures all start screaming.  Both out here and in the pet shop.  The only ones not stunned are you, Alice, the monk, and the fairy.

The orange cat riding on your shoulder screeches in your ear and starts furiously batting your face.

A deathgoyle comes flying out of the forest to join the fight... on no one's side.  It starts wildly swinging at everyone.

Meow Meow Meow Meow Meow

You throw a Mismagius at Alice as she unleashes Arcwind.  The Mismagius gets blown right back into your face.  It's light enough that it's more annoying than damaging.  To you, anyway.  The Mismagius seems kinda hurt.  The cat on your shoulder struggles to hold on.

You whistle at the pixie, but she's a bit preoccupied by the deathgoyle.  It swings at her and she flits out of the way.  She zaps it with a lightning bolt, then hides behind the monk.  Then it swings at Ansei.  The white fox gets smacked back, hurt, but knocked back to his senses.

The others all still seem to be dealing with the ear pain.  Speaking of which, your face is starting to hurt from the angry orange cat slapping you.  At least it's not using claws.

You bounce the bird horn off the monk's head.  It turns its attention from the deathgoyle to you.

You start chewing gum.

Kitty

You throw the cat at the monk.  It yowls the entire way.  The monk deflects it and sends it flying at the deathgoyle.  The cat starts slashing at it instead.

You throw the Mismagius at Alice.  She stops herself mid-cast and grabs the ghost, flinging it around unharmed.

"Mah... mah..."  It sounds dizzy.

You start blowing a big bubble.

The pixie drops a bolt of lightning on you.

The deathgoyle is too busy dealing with the cat latched onto its chest to fight.

The bear and Ansei both recover.

Ranulf, Levi, and the taguel are still screaming and pawing at their ears.
