You are a high schooler in a small city... and a time traveler. What's more, you're a magnet for trouble.
Fortunately, trouble follows predictable patterns. And you've seen it all before. Using the knowledge you've accumulated from the source of your power and your own experience, your,goal is to protect the city of Farhaven from danger.
Unfortunately, there are others like you. They may interfere with your investigation, either because they're trying to conduct their own, or because they're outright hostile. More than anything, you have to keep your power a secret. Keeping up appearances takes time. Therefore, you only have time for one investigative action a day. And the time stream can only take so much alteration. If things go wrong, time will reset, but this can only happen so many times. Even if things seem hopeless, the investigators will have one final chance - if they can successfully identify everyone's role, they can fix everything.
Mechanics
Possible player actions will be listed in a separate thread.
All NPCs have a hidden role. This will not change between loops, but may change between scenarios.
Each role has different rules they must follow. A list of roles will be provided in a different thread.
All NPCs will have 2 stats to keep track of: friendship and stress.
If an NPC has enough friendship, they can carry out a special action by request. Most are limited to once per day. This does not consume your action. NPC abiliities are separate from role abilities. A list of abilities will be listed in a different thread.
Events will trigger the same day every loop, assuming conditions are met. Events will always be triggered by the same character. Events have requirements ranging from a character being in a certain place, a character having enough stress, etc.
NPCs will not necessarily follow the same routines between loops as they react to the investigator's actions.
Each PC will choose an action every day. Actions are sent via PM.
Results are resolved privately for each player. Do not read what happens to other players.
Players can discuss amongst themselves only between loops. After each failure, there will be a window that players can chat. Once all players agree to move on, the next loop will begin.
About player limit: There's no limit to how many players can sign up; however, they will be split into groups of 3, with each group getting their own reality. It'll be first come, first serve, unless players form their own groups.
