Life used to be peaceful here. It always felt as if nothing happened. What else would you expect from somewhere called the Peaceful Area? People would go about their daily lives free of worry until one day...
A gigantic tower rose from the earth, into the sky. The mysterious technological wonder gave off a faint blue glow in the night sky. And as it settled in place, strange, shadowy creatures began to form, dropping from what seemed to be the clouds themselves. These two events could not simply be coincidence. These creatures and that tower must be connected.
As the Peaceful Area descended into chaos, our two heroes began to stir. This would awaken the destiny within them and the story would be set in motion.

Keep in mind that if you guys can't agree on two characters, you'll end up with an Amalgam monster.

They came from the same kind of force as the shadow monsters. Their origin was unknown. Their purpose was unknown. They just...appeared.
Slowly coming to, Richard found himself laying on the ground. His ears flicked as he got to his feet. Where is he? Who is he? What is he? He feels as if he's forgotten these things. All that remains are fragments of memory. Richard looked down at his tiny body. It was made entirely of twisted and connected vines and leaves. They formed together in the shape of a cat. It was interesting, really. He was only about the size of a normal housecat, but he stood on two feet instead of walking on all fours. His tail was made of a long vine with a glowing bulb on the end. Blue spheres of light glowed within openings in the vines on his face. These were...Yes, these were his eyes. He was sure of it. He tried opening his mouth, but alas. There is no mouth. The vines simply took the shape of a cat. They could not open and close like a mouth could. He could not speak. He had no claws to speak of. No weapons to use. No form of defense.
Richard's gaze turned up to the sky as he saw the dark clouds swirl. A strange mixture of red and black filled the sky in an electrical fashion. It was dark out here. Richard's tail provided a decent amount of light. He could use this to see where he was going. And so he did. The strange cat took a moment to look around at his surroundings. A few trees were around here and there. And he heard the sound of running water not far off from here. As well as the sound of...breathing.
Richard turned only to meet face to face with a hideous monster. A strange creature stood before him. Its face was almost dog-like with a snout and brown fur. Its eyes were large and carried a red glow. Long, black hair came down on one side of its face and the strange mane continued down about halfway past its back. Sharp, carnivorous teeth shone in the dark, dripping with drool. Its furry body contrasted oddly with the reptilian claws it had in place of feet. A long tail matching the reptile-like feet could be seen swinging back and forth uncontrollably behind it. As Richard stared at it, the strange monster let out a roar toward him. It sounded horrific. Like a thousand cries for help.

(Oh god first decision of the game and we already created horrible disfigured monsters and this was suppose to be the easy choice.)

Richard watched as the strange creature stepped toward him, nudging him with its snout. Despite the terrifying look of the beast it didn't seem to want to hurt him. He looked at it a moment before climbing up the side of the beast and sitting on its back. This creature needs a name...Danielle seems right somehow. As he sat there, a mysterious light came flying in from the side. It had a bluish glow. The light moved off in the darkness as Richard and Danielle watched it. The two looked to each other before Danielle followed after with heavy footsteps.
As they followed the light, the two eventually came upon what seemed to be a small garden. Flowers surround a large fountain with water spewing forth. But this certainly isn't a peaceful place. As the two took a look around at the surroundings, Richard caught a glance of something else glowing in the dark. A mysterious, red pattern almost glitched about in the darkness not far from where he and Danielle stood. A malicious aura came off of this creature. This thing certainly wasn't a friend.
But were the two really capable of battle? Or would they find another way around this creature?

Richard pulls on Danielle while sitting atop her. She looks up, glancing over her shoulder to see him pointing away from here. Danielle lets out a grunt of affirmation before turning away and running off in the complete opposite direction of the mysterious monster.
The two continue to move along through the dark night as more trees populate the visible space. Soon enough, they seem to be everywhere. The ground is covered in leaves, which crunch beneath Danielle's feet and flutter about in the slight breeze. More branches and bushes cover the ground as they move along.
Forest Area Discovered!
Richard's ears twitch as he listens carefully. It sounds like there are voices not far from here. Someone else might be around. Danielle begins to slow down as the two are no longer near the strange monsters. She takes a moment to breathe and looks over her shoulder at Richard once again, waiting to see where he directs her.
What will you do?

Richard, sneak up towards the voices. See what they are.

Richard pats Danielle a couple times on the head, hopping off and making a motion for her to stay put. She takes a seat on the grass and waits around while Richard heads off toward the voices he heard. As he makes his way through the forest, he comes into a small clearing with a little pond. The voices stopped and Richard doesn't see what was making the sounds anymore.
He takes a look around at the area. The forest trees stand around the clearing, watching silently. Five statues of foxes stand around the pond, looking toward the center. They make a little semi circle together. If Richard were standing at the center of the pond, it would look like they're all staring at him. These statues seem pretty old. Moss and vines are growing on them. It feels like there's more to this area, but it's hard to tell in the dark like this.
Meanwhile, Danielle sits alone in the forest. Nothing out of the ordinary appears to happen. She looks up at the sky, seeing the black and red clouds swirling still. Maybe those weird monsters are in the forest too.
What will you do?
