I have become Kiran destroyer of hearts
B, chase that charm

Kiran decides to head to the art club.  Huh, Natty isn't here today.  Oh, wait, she's grounded.  Even from her own club?  Weird.  Well, whatever.  Instead Mattea's leading it.  She has everyone draw her for the day, and doesn't really do a lot to help people...  Fortunately, some of the students who come to the club a lot are.

Kiran gained a charm.

After the club's over for the day, he's one of the last to head out.  Other than Tai, who's hanging back to speak with Mattea.  As he leaves, that really shy girl, Leia, heads in.

He overhears them talking about the quiz on Sunday or whatever.  And then Leia says something about poptarts.  Kiran rolls his eyes.  Wait, she didn't say poptarts.  She said something about a portal?  Like, an otherworld portal?

(A) Eavesdrop
(B) Barge in
(C) Nope.  Get on with a normal evening (choose a location to visit, activity, someone to call, etc)

Kiran decides to eavesdrop as subtly as possible.

By laying against the door with his ear against it.

What the heck, why is it so hard to make out what they're saying?  This works so well in all the movies.

OK, Leia is saying something about finding a new portal... outside of town?  Those big plains or something?  Near the bus stop.  Got it.  Apparently it's bright white and really peaceful or something.

Tai is saying something about a mole and how they need to be careful about who they tell about this.  OK, fair enough.  He wants to investigate with as small a group as possible before people go to their mom or something?  Huh?

...

(A) Kick in the door and start yelling at them
(B) Politely enter and suggest joining them
(C) Go hide somewhere and try to tail one of them later
(D) Leave

Kiran texts Buttons about what's going on, but decides not to message Natsumi.  Best not to push things after that Vitcorp incident.

Buttons answers quickly.  "Gotcha.  I'll be there."

That night, Kiran heads over to the plains.  He sits around at the bus stop, like what's-her-name, Leia, said.  Just before midnight, Tai and Leia show up, and the portal winks into existence.  Kiran quickly hops inside it, immediately changing into his performer's outfit.

Inside, there's not a lot going on.  A ring of flowers surrounding the portal, and a wall of trees forms a ring around that.  There's a pair of trails leading away - one directly in front of the portal, the other a bit off to the side.  The only thing really interesting about this place is that it's all black-and-white.  And some grey.  Also it's freaky quiet.

At least until the others come in.  Leia almost immediately asks how Kiran and Buttons know each other.

"Kiran's my bro. We've known each other since...?" Buttons trails off, like he can't actually remember how long it's been. "A while. As long as I can remember."

Kiran nods and walks over to the portal. "Yep. Me, Buttons, Natty, and Somnis have been friends for... uh... Leia? What exactly am I looking at here?"

"There's nothing out there," Buttons points out. "I mean, a weird amount of nothing. So nothing it's weird."

"These trees just kind of... suddenly end and turn into... Wait, look over there. Do you see that?"

"Where?"

"Right there. On the horizon."

"Uh... You mean that little dot?"

"Yeah. I mean, I think it's... it looks like a big-ass tree or something."

"O-oh... Really? You think so?" Buttons says. "You, uh, have really good eyesight."

"Maybe it's another otherworld area or something?" Kiran suggests, excited. "But there's just miles and miles of nothing in the way. Think we could hike it?"

Buttons shakes his head. "Yeah, no. It'd take days. In here. With monsters attacking us. Even if our parents wouldn't be freaking out about us being missing for a week, I'm not risking it. And there's no guarantee it would have a portal back home, anyway."

Tai looks like he's thinking. "Hmm. We'll have to note it as a point of interest. Though I'm not against longer explorations here, we'd have to be fucking stupid to rush in, like, right now. No, for now we should look around and get a feel for the land. Try to figure out what element this land represents and find signs of a guardian."

(A) Head down the forward path
(B) Head down the side path
(C) Flirt with Leia
(D) Flirt with (annoy) Tai?
(E) Stare through the hole some more

D, Yeah no she thinks we're an empty flirt so let's not Tai works best while annoyed
