While Tai looks around, Kiran slides over to Leia. "So-o-o-o, L-Belle. Come here often? The Otherworld, that is. You look like you know how to handle yourself. Plus, you found this place all on your own, right? Impressive!"
"No... It's just the thir... Well, fourth time I come into this world if we count yesterday... First time, I got attacked by a minotaur. Second time, we ended up almost dying and I got a panic attack. Hopefully this time goes better, because this isn't a place I want to be in... But there's potential end of the world stuff going on, so I think it's natural to act upon it. And well... Technically, Zack is the one who showed me this place." Leia speaks while peering through the hole.
"Huh, I didn't know Zack new about all this Otherworld stuff," Kiran says. "Oh, if you're looking for that tree, it's a bit more to the left. Here." He gently adjusts her head.
"Alright, alright. Looks like we have two main options. We should get a move on. Two of us will take the path forward and the other two will take the path to the left. I'm going left, so which one of you is coming with me?" Tai asks.
(A) Me!
(B) I'm going with Buttons!
(C) Dibs on Leia!

"Dibs on Leia," Kiran announces, surprising no one. "C'mon, let's go figure this stuff out before those two!"
Kiran takes Leia's hand and pulls her into a run before she can protest, heading down the center trail. He lets her go before long, and the two are left strolling along on a narrow trail together.
"Hm. It's so quiet here. If anything happens, I bet those other two would hear us calling for help from a mile away." Kiran nods. "Kinda nice, but also kinda creepy."
A short distance ahead, the path opens up into a small clearing. In the center is a large pond with some reeds. It's large enough that the trail around the edge of the clearing doesn't get much wider. The water's light grey surface is perfectly still...
(A) Shove Leia in
(B) Splash Leia a bit
(C) Take a drink
(D) Suggest sitting down for a short break
(E) Suggest going left
(F) How about we keep going straight ahead?

"Hm..." Kiran drops his transformation for a moment, reaches into his pocket, and pulls out a ball of lint. "Ta-dah," he says, tossing it into the pond. As you expected, no ripples. It even skids a bit like landing on solid ground. Kiran transforms back and hesitantly pokes at it with his foot, then takes a step out onto the surface. It doesn't react any differently than the ground. "OK, I'm starting to get a little freaked out here..." he admits. "...Wait, what do you mean I'm creepy?"
"You're way too interested in me for someone I never met. That's creepy. Now, if you don't mind, I want to know wether this place is devoid of life or just frozen in time. I hope you don't mind getting wet, cause if you're so inclined in following me, we're going swimming."
"Huh? I'm just giving you some compliments..." Kiran says. "I'm not asking you out or anything. You must be even more shy than I thought."
Leia ignores him and walks out to the center of the pond. She seems to be trying to swim.
"I wonder if this stuff's supposed to be ice or water?" Kiran asks. "I'd assume ice, but with the coloring, it's pretty hard to be sure."
"The compliments are one thing. Being dragged by the arm is another. Oh, oh... That doesn't really matter... There's... There's some monsters down there... Way more interesting than I am!!! Which means this place isn't devoid of life. It's frozen in time... I have a theory, but I don't think we should test it tonight... We should actually camp here for real this weekend... Maybe this place is only active when the portal is closed...?"
(A) Just... the two of us?
(B) Heck yeah
(C) Heck no
(D) Who're we inviting?
(E) Get bored and wander off (pick a direction)

"Camping?" Kiran repeats. "Oh, HELL YEAH! I love camping! I mean this place isn't as good as the beach, but it's still kinda cool. When? Where? Just name the time and the place and I'll be there!"
Kiran's phone buzzes with a text message. It's from Natsumi. "How's the group study session going (・ω<)?"
"Hm? Oh, looks like Nat wants to know how the investigation's going." Judging from the fact Leia also just got a message (and is responding to it), looks like Leia already knows.
When she's done, Leia puts her phone away. "Okay Kiran... Camping is for if we don't find anything... If you're right and this is ice... Could you help me break the ice please?"
"I'd love to break the ice with you!" Kiran says. "Let's see. My hobbies include hanging out at the beach, video games, teasing Somnis... And I'm always up for a camping trip. Your turn."
Despite his attempts at humor, Kiran does move to help. He takes off his top hat and slowly withdraws a colorful, goofy-looking sledgehammer much, much too large to have been hiding in there. "Magical Mallet! HAAAA!" He leaps into the air and smashes the ground. "Ow..."
The ground does not respond to Kiran's mallet nor Leia's bat.
"I... Uhm... I like drawing and helping people. I guess I'm boring... Well, this is going nowhere... Do we take one of these two paths or should we trail back?"
(A) Let's go left!
(B) Let's go forward!
(C) Let's go back!
(D) Let's keep smacking the thing!
(E) Let's take a break!
(F) Iunno. What do you wanna do?

Kiran decides to let Leia take charge.
"Well... This tree is tall... Could you help me climb it please?" Leia asks.
"You sure? I thought you didn't like being touched?" Kiran crouches down and cups his hands to give her a boost. "Eh, whatever. Hop on."
Leia obliges, using Kiran as a stepping stool to shimmy up the tree a bit, before sliding back down.
"Oh... OH! I see some colors! There's something yellow in the direction of... where we came from? Wait... There wasn't anything Yellow... Were we followed? I'm coming down... We need to investigate. Catch me if I fall." Lria smirks sarcastically at Kiran as he carefully grabs her hips and helps lower her the last few feet. "Maybe I'll call you my white knight after that."
Kiran ignores the comment and the pair proceeds along the path straight ahead from where they came in. They reach the next clearing and find that it splits into two paths on the far side, in a roughly Y-shape.
In this clearing, there are several black-and-white flowers. In the middle is a huge, golden butterfly. It's easily three times a person's size. The creature is resting on the flowers, slowly flapping its wings. A faint voice is whispering. "Back... Give it back... Give it back... Give it back..."
Leia drops down and slowly starts crawling towards the massive butterfly. "Bu... But we took nothing... I... I don't understand... Can... Can we help?"
Then another voice rings out, back in the direction you came from. Buttons. "LEIA! KIRAN! GET OVER HERE!"
"That sounds serious Kiran... This place is too weird though... Do you have anything to mark our path to come back to this butterfly?"
(A) Quietly and calmly pull Leia away from the monster
(B) "Yeah, sure."
(C) Attack the butterfly
(D) Immediately ditch Leia and go running to save your bro

Kiran ignores the yelling and copies you, crawling over to the giant butterfly. "Tell me your secrets, Butterfly," he says. "What was taken from you? Who took it? How can we return it?"
The butterfly's response is to float up into the air and start flapping its wings forcefully. "GIVE! IT! BACK!" Some kind of glittering scales begin flying off the butterfly's wings. As they wash over Kiran, he begins to feel sick. His vision starts to swim as everything seems to be moving back and forth. He feels dizzy, stiff, and sluggish. Also he's poisoned.
Also he's received another text message, but this really isn't the time...
(A) Attack
(B) Defend
(C) Skill (choose)
(D) Nah I've got time, check the message
(E) Grab Leia and retreat

Kiran takes a peek at his phone. It's another message from Natsumi!
"I HEARD TAI AND BUTTONS WERE IN TROUBLE ((>;゜Д゜<))"
"Uh, Leia? We should g-" Kiran starts to say. And then a spaceship appears from nowhere and drags him inside with a cluster of tentacles. The next thing Kiran knows, he's being forcefully ejected as the thing explodes. He lands next to Leia, who appears to be injured, ill, and dizzy...
"-o what the heck was that?" Kiran looks around. "Anyway, we need to run!"
"Let's... Let's run! I... I don't feel good..."
He grabs hold of Leia's hand again - yeah she doesn't like it but she looks like she needs it right now - and heads back to the chamber with the tree. The butterfly follows behind them, flying over the trees as it drops scales.
They make it back to the previous room, just ahead of the wall of scales. "Uh... The portal should be... to the right?" Kiran says. "Oh, OK. No. Come on! What the Hell is that?"
On the route between you and the portal, he sees three things. Most pressingly, a human-sized crab with 3 legs, like a tripod, a needle arm on one side, and a huge, muscular human arm on the other. The other two creatures there are small creatures with a pale-blue glow. One looks like a cat, and the other looks like a very tiny person with an oversized head. The big one seems to be sparring with the other two.
"TAI! BUTTONS! WE'RE HERE! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Leia yells.
"We're at some pond or something!" Kiran hears them calling back. He wants to go towards them, but Leia has a different plan.
"It's distracted! Let's just run past it and continue!"
"...Yeah!" Kiran says. He keeps pulling Leia along. The crab-thing stabs at her with the needle, but Kiran tugs her forward just enough to dodge. Heh. He's feeling pret-ty cool right now. Right up until he rounds a corner and almost runs into someone. Wait, he knows this someone. Natsumi? What...?
"LEIA-PERSON! And Kiran! You're alive! And... holding hands...? This is not the time for a romantic stroll! Tai and Buttons are in trouble! What's going on!?"
(A) "This isn't what it looks like!"
(B) "This is exactly what it looks like!"
(C) (Grab Natsumi and keep running)
(D) "Great, now we have enough people to try fighting that thing!
(E) "NATTY? WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
(F) "Oh, that was your cat earlier. By the way, he's about to get hecked up."
