"It was worth a shot" Floyd says with a nervous chuckle "But, hey they are bound to fight us again right so if you came with us when they show up you can observe or crack them open or whatever you want" he suggests

"Yep. Annnnnywaaaaay. I'm gonna go activate the defenses now. See if you can make it to the front. Later." He raises a hand in a wave and heads through the door heading forward.
"I don't like him..." Katie says. "He's mean."
"What do we do?" Fox says. "Do we retreat or go after him?"

Floyd grins determinedly "That sounded like a challenge to me we better get going before all those defences kick in" He declares getting a little stretch in before flashing the group an encouraging thumbs up "I'll be more careful about fire don't worry!"

"Don't worry... I think. If I'm right, we won't be seeing so much fire stuff from here on," Somnis says.
"Cool! Let's go," Katie says.
You start heading towards the next car when a pair of turrets rise out of the fence posts near the door. They swivel to face you, glowing yellow as they charge.

Floyd dons an uneasy smile "Didn't waste any time huh hey guns look at me" He shouts charging forward and using Acid Armor

You run forward and start screaming. One of the turrets immediately snaps around to aim at you as you put up some armor. It fires a yellow-aura bullet that pings off of you with an electrifying tingle.
Fox throws his scythe to arc and slice through both turrets. The other turns to aim at him, only for Katie to leap on it and start slicing it with her wolf claws. The turret spins in place, trying to fling her. When that doesn't work, it opens fire at point-blank range and forces her off.
"Ow owowow ow! Zappy... little... jerk!"
Once again Somnis seems to be gone.

Somnis reappears behind one of the turrets and stabs deep into it before hopping down off the fence.
You kick some stars at the turrets which bounce off with loud thuds and cause them to shudder.
Katie begins to morph and shrink, growing extra legs from her hips as she drops to the ground, taking on the form of an ant half your size.
Fox drops down and prepares for the next attack.
The left turret starts whirring and quickly sweeps across your party. It pings loudly off of Katie's new exoskeleton.
The other turret looks straight up and fires a volley skyward. You have trouble seeing where the shells it fired even went with how high they are...

"That can't be good" Floyd mumbles tracking the shots as high as he can he'll use Cutting Winds in an attempt to at least knock them off course worst case scenario still do some damage to the turrets.

Floyd tries summoning winds to blow the falling missiles off course. A few of them detonate in mid-air, and the turrets shudder in the wind.
Somnis throws a smoke bomb down at one of the turrets and is gone by the time it clears. The turret fires wildly, attacks clinging off the platform but missing everyone.
Fox leaps and slices the other turret, leaving a blue trail behind his scythe. The machine sputters and smokes from the impact. Katie skitters up and snaps it with her new mandibles, chomping on some exposed bits. The turret seems badly damaged as it sweeps across everyone with another spray from its cannon.
The remaining missiles rain down and explode. Katie crouches down and seems to shrug off the blow without much trouble while Fox seems mildly inconvenienced. Floyd gets thrown into the wall and hears his key starting to let out a soft whine.

Fox rushes forward before anyone else can react, slicing the turret's head off. It clangs against the floor and rolls along.
Somnis reappears behind the other turret, jamming a knife into something that looks important. The turret spins and slams its own gun barrels into Somnis like a club. She gets knocked flying, rolling past Floyd and crashing into the railing. "Ow...?" she says quietly as her key starts buzzing.
Katie continues her ant-vance, running up and nibbling at the turret.
You summon a cloud that rains down on you. Your key grows silent again.

You help Somnis up. She shakes her head to clear it as you call out a rain cloud.
"Oh, damp. Not as good as a fountain though. Thanks." Somnis jumps onto the turret and begins stabbing it again.
Katie continues to gnaw on it as Fox crouches down.
The turret fires more rockets into the air.
As they come flying back down, Fox lunges forward and slices, leaving the turret in pieces. The rockets explode harmlessly in midair.
While Katie turns back into a werewolf and Fox dusts himself off, Somnis goes to work rummaging through the wreckage. "Oh, this looks important..."
Obtained Targeting Chip x2!
Obtained Metal Plate x2!
"What now?" Fox asks. "That jerk from before made these turn on, right? There's probably more traps ahead."
"Could be more traps behind us," Somnis points out. "Might be better to secure our escape route."
"Or we could keep going!" Katie suggests.

Floyd nods along Katie's statement "Yeah we can't just stop now we gotta prove ourselves besides if there's more traps behind us then it's just as dangerous backwards as forwards but, when we get to him he'll turn them off and we can get back safely"
