That and the power increase creates an awkward situation where Yuleia is technically better than everyone at their own thing provided she can stick them in the sword, while this makes her more of a jack of all trades instead. As for the keys, I like the idea but it might be a good idea to also have one or two of the keys found during the initial conflicts with the empire and monsters, that way it gets some foreshadowing during the first arc before then finding out what they’re used for when they’re brought to the temple and the additional passages are discovered.

QUESTION
I'm paraphrasing here, but when the Outlanders arrive, they're given a brief history of Oz and it's problems, and are asked to help destroy the monsters and protect the kingdom from the invading empire (which will basically take defeating the empire). - Their main affiliation will be with Yuleia and they'll be supervised and assisted by them, but aside from that they're free to operate as they please on their own. - They *should* return to their own worlds at the exact same moment that they were summoned to Oz, so they don't need to worry about the passage of time, or loved ones having to cope with their absence. - Oz currency is useless in other worlds, but they will be allowed to keep *most* of the treasures they find as payment (i.e. not the really important or really dangerous relics) - They'll soon discover Outlander death isn't permanent, so the main risks are being captured and/or getting turned evil. - The queen seems like a very nice person.
So the main question is: are there any characters that would outright REFUSE to stay and help, and what could convince them to stay? "Something went wrong so you're stuck here until it's fixed anyway" is not off the table, but I think it's better if their hearts were in it.

That’s something I’ve tried to avoid this time (coughcoughMogcoughcough), Palom might not be too happy about it initially but both he and Porom are going to be fully willing to help largely just out of the goodness of their hearts plus the opportunity to reunite with old friends.

I was thinking for M was that he travels to Oz since traveling between worlds is something he does, but for some reason he cannot leave Oz on his own.
My intention is that he starts alone, with no character to explain anything to him and M just researches this world and what it's inhabitants can do, until a certain event that Yoshi and I discussed happen (I don't know if we have to reveal every single plan we have for this game, I'll spoil it if needed) and either the other players reason with M or decide he needs to go.
If you all absolutely want M to be with every Outlanders at the start, that is fine with me and I'll just change my line of thought for his arc.

I will say that if I sign Nightmare up he won’t be immediately on board with saving Oz, but that’s because he’s going to start as a Vitfox shard enhanced boss fight and then become a card character afterwards who goes along with the group mostly for the sake of causing chaos.

Like before Bowser would probably be the most unwilling because he's Bowser but he will easily be talked into by Mario, or someone close to be like fine whatever gets me home quicker.
Most of my characters will be like hey you need help cool let's help. Dimento has plans and will be manipulating things from the background.
I do have plans for one of my OG villains from Vitquest to be in but he wouldn't be available for a while and will most likely be introduced later.

Vitfox and Anna will be like oh new world let's see what's it store plus he has the quest of finding his missing shards that will have an effect on the world of Oz.
Christina would be happy to see her former crew and seeing some new friends.
The one character will eventually join after a boss fight in order to gain control of her power.
Morgan will be gal pals with Lana and Christina.

June: "K."
Mareena: "Give shiny."
Sybil: "Well my original world was destroyed and the whole thing with me hopping between worlds ain't happening anymore but I guess this place is fine to settle down in until I figure out how to get back to world hopping."

For the two characters I signed up with.
Diego will likely cause chaos for the sake of it but may end uo trying to break free from Soul Edge's control
Guildmaster Genesect meanwhile will be trying to find his way back to his own world.

Question: what "level of violence" is everyone comfortable with? I'm making villains that will do gruesome things (and potentially have gruesome things happen to them once defeated) and I personally have two, possibly three really violent Outlander characters (Irving and Stella), but I wasn't going to subject any other Outlander characters to anything farther than roughly T-rated fantasy violence (especially to characters whose origins are nowhere near as R-rated).
I don't want anyone to be uncomfortable later on.

I don't want anyone to be uncomfortable later on. I'm not super squeamish but I would prefer it if the details were kept to the necessary level. Like I don't need or want an in-depth and detailed description of someone's/somethings guts hanging out, but if they are wounded that way and its mentioned out of necessity, I should be okay, if that makes sense

I personally have no lines has long as it's no gratuitous, so anything goes for me.
I'm less prone to describe something terrible in text than when I'm narrating orally though.
So I'll follow whichever flow we decide on.
I know Proboards has rules on 18+ stuffs though, so I think we should aim for family friendly.
