Malik heals himself. His health is looking fairly good right now. Anna sidesteps her Pitfalls and runs up to Malik, attacking him with the Axe! This catches Malik off guard, and he suffers some damage.
The acid pit is definitely letting off sparks now. Something bad may happen if this fight continues on...

Malik chases after Anna with the hammer while Anna runs back to her Pitfalls. Due to being so close to Malik previously, Malik manages to catch up and smacks her with the hammer while she hops over her buried Pitfalls, knocking her to the ground. Anna won't be able to take another blow from the hammer...
However, Malik stumbles into a Pitfall trap after attacking Anna. Malik is now stuck in the ground, and Anna is trying to get up.
The acid pit suddenly fires projectiles into the sky. Upon inspection, it seems like the acid pit fired 8 blobs of acid... Homing blobs of acid! 4 of them are falling from high above towards Anna, and 4 towards Malik! Getting hit with one of those will certainly mean game over!

So is this a bonus boss for the winning team? I'm just curious, especially because something like this could actually be a really interesting way to spice up PvP: have the winning character/team get to fight an optional boss after the fight for double the arena coins or nothing if they lose, or they can choose not to fight the boss and just take what they've won. You just reminded me of a really important battle mode. You know how there was that thing in the Death Match arena? The free for all with about thirty people at a time? We should do that. |

So is this a bonus boss for the winning team? I'm just curious, especially because something like this could actually be a really interesting way to spice up PvP: have the winning character/team get to fight an optional boss after the fight for double the arena coins or nothing if they lose, or they can choose not to fight the boss and just take what they've won. You just reminded me of a really important battle mode. You know how there was that thing in the Death Match arena? The free for all with about thirty people at a time? We should do that. 30 Player Smash? |

You were there as Mario. The thirty person battle was based off of something in Gates. Remember? |

Anna runs towards one of the entrances leading into the arena for cover and takes out a Perfect Orange. Malik throws his hammer at Anna from his pitfall, hitting her in the back of the head. As she gets hit, she bites into the Perfect Orange before dropping it in shock. The Perfect Orange seems to have saved Anna's life for now, but it's now unusable, and ANY attack will finish Anna off now!
Malik then quickly buries himself with sand to protect himself from the homing acid.
The acid going for Anna lands at the entrance of the arena... And starts moving towards Anna! And the exit is blocked off! Behind Anna is the gate, and in front of her is a wall of acid moving towards her...
Malik can feel the impact of the acid falling from above and landing on the ground above him. It looks like Malik forgot to account for air... And Malik can hear the sand above him quickly dissolving. It won't be long before it reaches him...
