You find yourself traveling out across a vast field. The sun glares overhead and it seems there's nothing but vast plains for miles. This continues until you come upon a large base camp. It seems mercenaries are working around, training or moving supplies. The many tents make you consider the thoughts that there are plenty of mercenaries around here. Almost an entire army. As you wander through the camp, you can see there are many various people here. Walking through, a swordsman and his Note Beast notice you. "Hey, the new guys! C'mon, Leo, let's go meet 'em." His Note Beast appears to be a lion with a fire coated mane. "The boss told me you'd all show up. What are we standing around here for? Let's go take you to the boss."

The swordsman leads B-Ball Mage through the camp as they pass by multiple tents. He then stops at a tent that's different. This one is larger and has a different design on it. "This is the boss's tent. He'll get you ready to take on missions." The swordsman motions for you to enter the tent as his lion yawns and sits on the ground. B-Ball Mage heads into the tent and meets the big guy in charge. A rather tall and muscular man in full silver armor stands up from a desk where he was sorting through papers and turns to look at you. His face has a single scar on the cheek and his dark colored eyes look at you seemingly experienced with many years of training.
"So you're the new Conductor I got a request from." His voice is deep and powerful. "You have that new guy air around you. Well, a new addition is always welcome here. You aren't a full member yet though. Like all new members, you'll have to pass a test. Before that, you'll need to get your first Note Beast. That's enough chit chat though. I doubt you came here to talk to me. Let's get right into the action." The man points to a glowing alter-like object. "You see that rocky table thing that glows? That's called an Awaken Alter. Just place your note on that and you'll revive it. That is, with a song. Conductors always carry a music creating thing with them. It could be an instrument or whatever, but that thing's important. It's what you use to create new Note Beasts and hold the ones you already have. Now get over there and awaken your first Note Beast. What are you waiting for?" The man gives B-Ball Mage a Boom Box.
(When you awaken Note Beasts, you simply need to be nearby an alter and play a song with your music creating object. Depending on what you play, the results may vary.)

B-Ball Mage plays his song, blasting it on the Boom Box. The catchy tune is matched by the Blaze Note. Both the boom box and note create the beat together. With all of the slamming power going through the note, it catches on fire! The beat's really heating up now. B-Ball Mage feels the power course through the room and flow around the note. The blazing fire around the note flies into the boom box, seeming to be absorbed by it. The note changes form into a round ball of flames. Not just any ball of flames though, it's definitely a basketball. It's a blazing fire that floats in the air in the shape of a basketball itself. Two eyes can be seen and mouth as well on the flaming ball. It seems to have small wings of fire as well. The fire basketball spirit flies in place looking at B-Ball Mage with an ominously mischievious grin.
"Interesting. I've never seen a Note Beast like that before. It's like some sort of fire ghost. A fire ghost in the form of a basketball. I'm interested to see its battle capability. Well, it looks like you managed to get your first Note Beast. Nice work there." The man hands you a paper. "This is his information so far. It will change later, but you can just remember the changes. If it's really important wright it in here." The man also gives Awkward a compendium. "This thing is yours put whatever information you want in it. Keep track of what your holding, what your monsters are, whatever. Well, I guess I'll welcome you then. From now on you're a mercenary. Nice to meet ya. I'm the leader of this place, I think you already know my name from that conductor guide, right?"

"Alright, it looks like you're ready to go then. Head on outside when you're ready. Blade will show you around the place. Make sure you stop by the training grounds too. It would be good for you to get some fighting experience in before your first mission."

B-Ball Mage leaves the tent and finds the man from before, who he assumes is Blade, waiting for him. The lion accompanying him, Leo, gets up on its feet as you walk out. "Hey, it looks like it went well! You have a fire monster too! Yours must be a lower score though. It doesn't look really strong. Well, nothing a rank up can't help with. Follow us and we'll show you around town." Blade leads B-Ball Mage through the camp as they pass by the many tents and training mercenaries.
"This is our base camp. It never stays in one place very long though. Everything manages to stay together though. This tent over here is the weapon forge. It's an important part of any guild. Over there with the training dummies are the training grounds. Pretty self explanatory. Oh, your tent is over there. It's pretty close to mine. Mine is that one there, just a couple of tents over. Let's see...I think that's everything you need right now, right? Go ahead and explore around on your own for now. The commander did say he wanted you to visit the training grounds though. Just to practice fighting a bit. If you want I can go with you and show you some tricks on fighting."

"Hey, nice job! You beat those dummies pretty quickly. Since you've got down the basics of combat, I guess that's all for today. Tomorrow we're heading out on a mission, so you should probably make sure you're prepared and all that."

B-Ball Mage asks his Note Beast the question and almost immediately, he is answered by a laugh from the fire spirit of slam. B-Ball Mage then runs around his tent, dribbling Slam around as he goes. It's kind of interesting, but the flaming basketball doesn't injure B-Ball Mage as he dribbles it.

"Hahaha! Man, I could get used to this. You really need an all star team to make it big... Oh, I know! Protein!" B-Ball Mage will head out to find a protein shake.

B-Ball Mage wanders around the camp, searching for protein shakes, but doesn't find them anywhere! Maybe if he had the materials, he could make one in the weapon forge...
