Malefio heads back to the tavern, noticing the streets seem a bit more empty at night. When he enters, the bartender greets him. "Hey, back again? Did ya get all the information you needed?" Malefio notices the bar is still busy with late night adventurers and there's a large, black bear sitting by the bar, taking a nap.

"Already getting right into things, eh? Let's see here..." The man looks around on the board before reaching out for a request. "Here's one. How's this one sound? A mission about going into the forest and hunting Forest Fangs. Forest Fangs are wolves that have strange powers. You'll probably find other things out there too, but you better go now while it's night. Forest Fangs sleep during the day. So does this mission sound good to you?"

Returning to the tavern from his long battle, Malefio walks into the bar. "From the looks of your condition and that pelt you're carrying over your shoulder, I'd say you beat the wolves. Good work. Here ya go, 200 Gold as promised along with this Song Crystal." The man hands Malefio a small bag of coins and places a crystal on the desk that when touched, immediately shatters apart into a light that surrounds Malefio and Frazga. They feel stronger somehow. "Haha! You look like you weren't expecting that! These crystals are normally given as a reward to Conductors. It makes them and their Note Beasts feel stronger. Not sure why, but it just does. Well, you look tired, so once your done writing in that little book of yours, you should get some rest at the inn." What the man says is true. You feel exhausted from the battle despite the sudden burst in strength from the crystal. Better return to the inn...

Chapter 1 - A New Field Of Research
Malefio wakes up in the morning, feeling refreshed. In the simple in room, he can hear the lively inn's people starting to stir. Frazga's ears flick as he opens his big eyes to look around sleepily. He then greets you with a chirrup. He seems good as new today. Note Beasts sure are curious creatures. He practically recovered overnight. His fur is back to being pure white and there's no sign of injury. Well, it's a new day and Frazga leaps onto your shoulder as you leave the room. As you walk downstairs, Mary sees you. "Hey there! I hope you slept well! Don't worry about paying me, the library got it all set up for you so you can stay here whenever, free of charge! You're little cutie's looking like he's feeling better too! Well, good luck out there! Remember, we're counting on you to get us important information! It may not seem like it, but your job is really important to the town. Make sure you come back safely!"

Malefio heads to the Drunken Bear and decides to check the request board. There, the bar seems to be its typical self. Lots of customers, but the obvious absence of a drunk bear. He must be out again. "Hey, it's you! Haha! Welcome back! You looking for a request again? What kind do you want?"

"I don't think so. That wolf problem seemed to clear it up. If your looking for more entries in your compendium, maybe you should try exploring more in the town. Or you could use those nice materials you got from those monsters to make some new gear. Most of the requests here right now are go get this or go do that. Nothing really interesting."
