I don't know I just got my main character killed because I was way to reckless. Hilda is most likely next. Even if she is magically brought back to life I blew any chance of her being remotely useful in the final encounters.
Paul I have next to no connection with. That defeate just took a lot out of me.

I wouldn't give up already. It's normal to get KOd in battle and you only die once your entire party is wiped out. Maybe Aquishiver can give your souls back.

Right now all I can think of is killing the wolf and making fur into a pelt.
Like I said I got myself killed and I lost any and all confidence I had to want to continue.

Right now all I can think of is killing the wolf and making fur into a pelt. Like I said I got myself killed and I lost any and all confidence I had to want to continue. I wouldn't feel too bad, that was a completely untelegraphed death that largely happened due to an NPC ally attacking. If anything, I would be mad at Just for having Aquashiver keep performing one-hit kills without any way to counter them. |

There's no reason to get mad at me. I already told you how to win... Also, I'll get the side quests done once I have a computer. Well I did kinda of get RNG screwed. Jess had a lot of buffs on her. Not to mention all the equipment I had to raise my speed. And the fact that Aqua just casually tossed me into another players blade oh and it just so happened to hit me in the stomach for an instant KO despite the fact that I was punching an ice wolf with flames when I had fist on flames already and a spell to make those flames stronger. Oh and I had a Moon Blossom equipped so even if the RNG was so against it couldn't have been nuched just a bit so maybe Jess had her entire left shoulder frozen solid, mean give her a handicap instead of outright kill her. I know I am just being salty now. Also Just Paul is still there but I swear if that flea ridden, self righteous, b**** of a guardian shows up with Malik and everyone else Paul will take his sword and decapitate her right then and there. |

What about if she somehow brings them back? There could be a whole subplot relating to her trying to find a better way, not to mention that Paul randomly taking a swing at her would make no sense. As for the matter of whether being angry is fair or not, I would like to point out that a spontaneous one-hit kill with no chance for a saving move is one of the most unsatisfying things that can happen to someone's character. In Gates it was pretty much the focus of the game and meant to encourage cautious fighting, but you also need to consider that the characters in Gates were official characters not made by us, not to mention that it was always made clear that Gates was meant to be a brutal game. When you take the time to come up with a character, give them a backstory, come up with some ideas on how to have them grow as a character, and then have them get ripped to shreds in an instant, it just feels like there was no point in making them in the first place. |

Fuzz I couldn't agree with you more. Here I thought everything has finally came together for Jess. Yet seeing her destroyed so easily it made this feel like it was one big waste of time. I get stuff like this happens during a boss fight but well the way it happened just felt like a giant FU no warning no chance to counter just whelp let me grab Jess and toss her despite no warning what so ever.
What hurts the most is I thought of an actual backsrory had the ups and downs. Her moment when she tells Malik her true feelings but has to let him go because of Ashley. Then realising she has feelings for Mike. The who letting go of her old ways and beginning anew. Yet now this all feels like a big waste and I should have never join. I mean a seris of mistakes is one thing but random death out of nowhere just feels like such a slap in the faith
