Shade has HM Surf, but I don't think he actually has anything else.
I don't think Carrie does either.

Time to rescue some shadow doggies!
Coilette and Carrie head on out to Sunbrine City, going to the lighthouse. There they quickly run into a trainer that wants to battle.
Lass: Hey you guys! Let's have a battle! Some jerk just beat my Pokemon with some weird magic powers. I want a fair fight!
Lass sent out Zigzagoon and Skitty!
Carrie sent out Fennekin!
Coilette sent out Bulbasaur!
The Pokemon look eager for battle!

Fen Fen spits some fire at Skitty, defeating the Pokemon quickly. Her Pokemon must not be very strong. Bulbie shoots out seeds on the opponent's Zigzagoon. The seeds sprout into plants! Zigzagoon runs toward Bulbie in a zig zag pattern for a tackle! Bulbie is hit! Zigzagoon's health is drained by Leech Seed and Bulbie is healed up again. Zigzagoon is weak, so Fen Fen finishes it off! Lass was defeated!
Lass: Darn it! Maybe I should train more...
Fennekin reached level 11!
Bulbasaur reached level 11!
Fennekin learned Howl!
Coilette and Carrie continue on upwards, running into another trainer.
Youngster: That shadow thingy beat my Rattata! No fair! I can show you just how strong he really is!
Youngster sent out Rattata and Bellsprout.
Carrie sent out Fennekin.
Coilette sent out Bulbasaur.

Bulbie sprouts vines from its bulb, smacking the Rattata with them twice until it faints. Fen Fen spits a ball of flames at Bellsprout, defeating it with one attack. Youngster was defeated!
Youngster: Oh come on! Two in a row?
Fennekin and Bulbasaur reaches level 12!
Carrie and Coilette continue upwards to the next floor...
