"I'll get both out of the way. First, not that I believe you're a doppleganger right now, but the others seem to have delegated me with the job to make sure you're not. Any concrete proof you weren't in the other world last night?"

Alice shakes her head. "No, sorry. The best I can do is tell you to ask my parents. I was with them, I promise."

"Second, I'm not gonna ask you to show us your phone. That's personal. I'm gonna ask you to show it to Zack. Your close friend. Not show him your conversations, just the time stamps so we know you didn't text anyone during your vacation, which would mean that you are indeed hiding something. Are you fine with that?"

Alice looks over at Zack for a moment and he looks back at her. There's a short pause before she nods. "Okay. I trust him." She stands and walks over to him, handing him the phone before exchanging a look with him as if trying to say something without words. Perhaps if your Understanding were higher, you could tell what was happening...

Zack looks at the times on the texts before handing it back to Alice. "Yeah, these times all make sense with the story she told us."

Alice places her phone away before Somnis speaks. "So, tell us about your vacation. Where did you go? What did you do?" She has a serious tone.

"It wasn't very interesting. I was just visiting my grandfather. He lives in the west."

Zack remembers something. "That's right. I forgot about him. You visit every year, don't you?"

Alice nods.

"Alright, that's fine by me. I don't see any reasons to think you're Mimi or whatever she's called. Don't get me wrong though, I feel like you're hiding something, but everyone can have their secrets. Whatever it is, I or anyone else don't have the right to force you to reveal your personal life. Now Tom, are you okay with this?" Tom nods.

Somnis then sits forward. "So how did you meet Zack? I'm not questioning you or anything, I'm just kinda curious because you seem really close and all."

Alice tilts her head slightly. "That's an odd question." Hm...? Was there something there? "We met at school like I'm sure you met most of your friends. We've just known each other for so long, we kind of got close."

"And you two know Fox and you're close to him, right?"

"Yes. We both found Fox getting bullied one day and helped him out. We became friends after that."

"Hmm...Okay. Well, you're not guilty of anything, so I think that's all for now. Let's head back and tell the others."

Investigation Team

Everyone regroups and talks about what happened. Julia and Somnis tell the team that Alice was definitely not Mimi and she wasn't in the other world while she was on vacation. The phone and her parents confirming this are fairly solid evidence. The group then tells those that weren't present about the plans to get together and have a little dress up party on Halloween. It should be a fun time. For now, everyone should relax and focus on living a normal life and laying low. It might be a good chance to strengthen your relationships or gather information. The musical is also going to be soon. That might be important for those that are in it.

Anyway, the group heads home afterwards, feeling tired after spending all that time together.

"Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I'm glad things worked out. Funny how things work like that..."

It's pretty much what you'd expect.
