Chocobo jumps to another platform that Golbez creates before using Choco Cure on Xerneas. Meanwhile Xerneas uses Aromatherapy, but rather than using it on the party it will use it on the water and shark to remove the poison. Just in case that doesn't work, the platform that Golbez made will be large enough for the Zora as well. Once everyone's safely off the shaking platform Nightmare will destroy it with a star (in case it's about to be thrown at the rest of us), but while it goes without saying if something keeps someone from getting off Nightmare will not destroy it. Golbez will cast Thundaga on the shark (FF4 logic for an FF4 character, dispel water surging around the target with lightning), and as soon as the barrier is down Nightmare, Lupis, and myself will all attack in a similar style to last turn. Agnes will Brave once before casting both Curaga and Esuna (only Xerneas needs Esuna but Groupcast All means I don't have a choice anyways), and the Chocobo will hop over to her platform and give her a ride since she's defenseless until the end of next turn.

Chocobo hops over to the other platform while healing Xerneas with a Choco Cure. Xerneas then releases a pleasant aroma that purifies the water. The Zora dives headfirst into the water and off the platform before Nightmare smashes it with a star. As the platform is destroyed, you see a pillar of water blast up into the ceiling where the platform was. Looks like this creature planned on smashing you with your own platforms.
Golbez then casts Thundaga on the shark head, clearing away enough water that the eye is vulnerable. You and Lupis both quickly fly past, slashing at it before Nightmare unleashes a rain of stars on it. Agnes then braves and activates both Curaga and Esuna to fully heal and restore the status of all her allies. The Zora swims inside of the shark head and you see him swim around the eye inside, slashing at it with his fins while an electrical aura surrounds him. The shark head lets out a gargled roar, and then spits out the Zora with a powerful blast of water, shattering the ice platform by launching him into it. It looks like the Zora took a pretty heavy hit from that. Those that were standing on the platform fall into the water, but luckily it's not poisonous anymore. The shark head dissolves away into the water and you see the eye gem head into the center of the pool of water. It flashes brightly and the water starts to move in a circular motion around the underwater eye.

...I honestly don't know how I didn't think of this sooner considering that we're fighting in a room full of water. Return Agnes to the sphere while Chocobo heals the Zora, the best way I can think of to balance what I'm about to do is to say it takes a character slot. "Golbez, how about we call in some help to end this?" "Very well. Come forth, Drowned King Cagnazzo!"
Transparent green orbs with a red center spin around Golbez and fade away as an unnatural chill blows through the room and the whirlpool suddenly dies down. Some of the water in the room begins to pool together before solidifying, becoming a blue giant turtle with a human face. A malicious grin spreads across its face as it stares down the eye. "You think to claim power over the tides? Know your place." A pillar of water erupts up from under the eye and freezes solid before shattering apart. From here, the party unleashes a continuous barrage of attacks including melee strikes, Moonblasts, stars, jumping Chocobo Kicks and two sources of Blizzaga on the eye juggling it helplessly in the air for as long as necessary and possible.

(That'll do it.)
Cagnazzo launches the eye gem into the air, making it helpless as everyone strikes at it in a storm of attacks. With Moonblast hitting for the final attack, the eye gem flashes a bright red before the light fades from it. The water in the room drains away, allowing you to access the entire room easily now. The eye gem still sits on the ground and appear to be unlit. There's no light coming from it. But you get the feeling whatever it is isn't dead. You also notice that you can edit it if you'd like. The doors into the bright room are still open as well and likely contain answers to what this place is and why it's here.

Edit the eye gem to be loyal to me and only aggressive if given a command to attack, and in addition give it some upgrades, specifically the ability to levitate and generate limited amounts of water to perform attacks such as launching orbs of water. Once that's done head into the next room.

While you're editing the eye gem, you also notice that there's some interesting data in here...
Looks like this isn't its true form. There's a living thing inside this gem. But you can't look at the code without releasing it. Are you interested in breaking the seal?

Not at the moment, that sounds like a recipe for disaster. Let's just take it with us until we can find someone that knows what's inside of it and whether it's dangerous or not. Maybe we can have the Penguin look at it and see if he's heard anything about it?

You show the Eye Gem to the Detective Penguin and ask him what he knows about it. "Hmm. HMM?" He holds his magnifying glass to the Eye Gem. "Fascinating! It appears that this gem contains a water spirit inside. She is quite powerful indeed. But who would seal away a water spirit? She would likely be grateful if someone were to release her. Hmm...an interesting find you have there, apprentice."

"So you don't think she'd be hostile? In that case releasing her would probably be the right thing to do, although it wouldn't hurt to take some precautionary measures. Stand back, if things go wrong and she immediately tries to kill everyone I've got it covered.." Summon Agnes back out (Cagnazzo left after the fight), return everyone else to the sphere, and have her call up the Asterisk Field around her, myself, and the eye gem. Once the three of us (and only the three of us) are safely within it, release the water spirit but keep an eye on her.

Agnes creates a field, often used for combat around her before you edit the Eye Gem and release the water spirit within.
In a bright flash of light, you see the Eye Gem explode into many shards and disintegrate, never to be used again. Standing in its place is now a woman. She wears a blue dress and has slightly transparent wings coming out of her back. Her long, brown hair is worn in a long braid and decorated with blue flowers. As she stretches and yawns, you see a small puddle of water constantly beneath her, at her feet, moving along with her. "Wow, you wouldn't believe how cramped it was in there! Whew! Feels good to finally stretch my wings. Hmm...I always thought the one that would save me would be more heroic looking. I guess you can't always judge a book by its cover, can you?" She laughs and you get the feeling she's probably not an evil spirit. "So, since you freed me from that prison, how about I show you my gratitude with a wish? I'll grant you one wish, so make it count, okay? And don't try any of that silly wishing for more wishes, it doesn't work. Even I have my magical limits, you know." She winks at you and wags her finger.

Think about it for a moment. "I'll be honest, nothing comes to mind that I desperately need to wish for now. Is there any way that I can hang on to my wish for the time being and get in contact with you later when I've got something I need to use it for?"

"Hmm..." She puts a finger to her chin in thought before coming to a decision. "Mmkay. Here, I'll give you a Wish Pendant. Just make your wish to the pendant when you need it and it will come true." She snaps her fingers and a golden necklace with a small, blue, raindrop shaped gem appears around your neck. "Well, if that's all for now, I have to get home. I'm sure they've been wondering where I was. See you~" The water spirit creates a large waterfall, splitting it open with her hand and walking through it like a portal before disappearing. Hmm. Wonder where she went...

Put the pendant on, disable the Asterisk Barrier (not that it contained her anyways, it's a good thing she wasn't hostile...), and head into the next room.

Stepping into the next room, it feels as if you've entered another world all unto itself. The entire room is bathed in a white light. As you stand in it, you see what looks like a golden object, shining in the distance. Moving towards it, you reach your hand out and pick it up. It looks like a piece of a broken circle. There's an interesting design that resembles something of a magic circle. It looks like there should be three other pieces to this thing.
As you stand in the room, you see a faint outline appear in the light. It looks somewhat humanoid. No, wait...it has horns. Its body is humanoid, but its head is shaped like that of a beast. It appears to be wearing some kind of robe, but the details are fuzzy. Your allies prepare a battle stance, but a voice echoes in the room, assuring you that the mysterious outline is not your enemy.
"Do not worry. I'm not here to hurt you. Actually, I am here to help you. You are one of the sphere holders, aren't you? I see it in your hand. You are a destined protector of this world. Every time it has faced destruction, you stand and fight for it no matter how many times it might reset. I believe in your abilities. But I'm calling on your help now for something of dire importance. The world is once again facing danger. The twelve destroyers have set their eyes on this world and have put their plans in action. I'm running out of time before I fade again..." You notice the mysterious outline flicker. "So I'll make this quick. You have to find the twelve sages, rebuild the life sigil, and release this world's creator from his seal. Only with those requirements met will you save this world. Remember, the sages will be revealed when their task is complete and the life sigil is broken into four pieces, scattered into four temples throughout the world. Once you have those, the path to the creator of this world will open. Now go! Castle Town needs you! Protect the sages there before it's too late!" The mysterious outline slowly fades out and a glowing circle of light appears beneath each of your allies. You're all lifted into the air within the light before teleporting away...
