It's taken 11 damage (stick, knife, lightning magic), with any luck it can't take much more of this. Ha... haha... no, no he looks pretty much fine. Pissed off, but fine. Demons are a totally different class than humans. And he's a Wilder-type. There's a reason I'm not letting him attack Ignatius directly with an actual weapon.

...Oh. So on a scale of one to "run, you idiot!", how bad of an idea was fighting instead of trying to get away right at the start?

Fighting on your own would have been "run you idiot (except it's probably not going to work and you're going to be thrown into a special event thing)."
Fighting with another demon backing you up or with a lot of firepower (or once you pick up some spells) should generally be fine.
Speaking of which, you should probably spend some time reading that book...

Ignatius
You swoosh behind the enemy while he's swatting at the annoying butterfly and stab your knife into its back.
Kobold received 2 damage.
The kobold growls, reaches over his shoulder, and grabs your arm. The next thing you know, you're flying through the air. The, suddenly, you aren't flying anymore as you slam into a tree and slump to the ground.
Iggy received 7 damage.
"Hey! That's not nice!" the pixie yells out. She starts sparking again, then releases another burst of electricity at the kobold.
Kobold received 12 damage.
The kobold collapses, twitching as it slowly begins to fade away.
BATTLE END Winners: Ignatius and Pixie
The pixie flies over to you at the base of the tree. "Hey, are you OK? Oh, that looks painful. 'K, I'll make it all better!" She lands in your lap and holds her hands up.
Ignatius recovers 7 HP Ignatius Cthulhu Mythos/Occult checks: Failure
You have no idea what she did, but the results are noticeable. You feel a lot better, but still pretty sore, and very tired.

"Thanks... those things don't travel in packs, do they?" Ignatius dusts some tree bark off his shoulder, wincing in the process.

Ignatius
Pixie's occult check: (failure)
"Iunno!" she says cheerfully. "A lotta demons do!" She hops off you and skips over to where her chestnut landed after she chucked it at the demon. It's got a lot of dirt and grass and a bit of fur on it. She picks it up and her eyes immediately start tearing up and sniffling. "M... M... My... ch-chestnut..."

Ignatius will slowly reach into his bag and take out another chestnut. "Here. Seeing how you saved my life it's the least I could do."

Ignatius
The pixie lets out a long, deep gasp, then tosses her soiled chestnut aside and charges you with shocking speed. She flies past, snatches the nut out of your hand, and does a few flips as she slows to a stop, all while repeatedly yelling "Thankyouthankyouthankyou!"
She loops back around and plops down in your lap. She cracks the nut and begins gnawing on it. "Ish sho shweet... Wan' shome?" she asks through a mouthful. She holds up half the nut.

Ignatius
"OK!" the pixie says. "I'll sit with you so you won't die if it does!" She continues to sit in your lap and returns to gnawing at her chestnut. It's certainly a change of pace to have company. And she's relatively tolerable when she's too busy eating to prattle on and on endlessly. Eventually you realize in horror that feeding her candy and sugar might backfire horribly...
Fortunately, about halfway through eating, she starts to doze off.

Since she's falling asleep, Ignatius will do his best to stay up. Someone's got to keep an eye out. I would take this time to do some reading, but it's probably too dark for that.

Ignatius
It is indeed too dark to read. On the other hand, out here, this far from the light of the city, the stars look amazing through the large gap in the trees...
Iggy's Luck check: Success Iggy's CON checks: 20, 95
You try to stay up on alert. You manage to make it until midnight easily, and well past. But not long after that, you start feeling drowsy, and finally fall asleep.

Ignatius
You have an unusually pleasant dream. You're in a huge field of flowers that seems to span all the way to some giant mountains visible far off in the distance. You get a vague feeling of deja vu; it's as if you've been here before. You gradually realize that everything is still. No animals, no wind, no movement, no sound. Even the clouds are motionless. Everything about this feels... wrong. As if the world as frozen, other than yourself. You look around again. There are still the mountains far off the distance. A huge ocean is faintly visible behind you. To either side, the field of flowers seems to go off endlessly. Or... maybe you should just wait here. And go to sleep. You do feel rather tired.

After taking a moment to think about how he seems surprisingly in control of himself for a dream but deciding not to worry about it because this whole day has been weird anyways, Ignatius begins walking straight forwards with the logic that if this weird dream wants to show him something it's going to be in the direction he's most likely to pick while if it doesn't then it doesn't matter which way he goes anyways.
