Pull it in close with Grab so that Frostoise can attack with Frozen Claw while it's getting pulled in.

Jonathon uses his Grab ability to pull in the Wooden Werewolf before Frostoise unleashes a powered up Frozen Claw in combination. Erika quickly spins her blades around, slashing at the enemy before it tries to strike at her. However, Varon creates a wind barrier that damages the enemy instead. Leafet then releases another leaf shot and the enemy falls from the attack, unable to handle anymore.
Jonathan Lv 7 -> 8
Frostoise Lv 7 -> 8
Varon Lv 3 -> 4
Erika Lv 3 -> 4
Leafet Lv 3 -> 4
Erika lets out a sigh of relief and sits on the ground. "I...I thought we were done for..." Leafet hops off of her shoulder and starts to sniff around the enemy before jumping over it and into a nearby bush. Leafet lets out a small squeak and then hops out, holding something. Within its paws are a small gem. It's clear and shiny, reflecting light in all directions. Leafet then hands the Clear Gem to Jonathan so he can hold onto it. "Huh...? Did we find something?"

Investigate the gem, see if it looks like a Score-increasing gen.

This definitely seems like it will increase the score of a Note Beast. You can hear the faint rythem of a song within.

Jonathan takes out the Forest Gem, holding it in one hand and the new one in the other towards Erika.
"I'm feeling generous, so I'll let you decide if you want the new one with an unknown element or this Forest Gem. I'll keep whichever one you don't choose."
(I'm guessing the Clear Gem doesn't change the element of the Note Beast, so I'll state that I've got a plan for either one. If I keep the Forest Gen I'll use it on Seraphoid eventually in the hopes of giving him a sort of Gaia form which is both Holy and Plant Elemental, although that won't be for a while and I'm not even sure if dual-elemental Note Beasts are possible. For the Clear Gem, however, it would be nice to upgrade Frostoise into a bigger and more powerful form that retains its Ice element, and since Frostoise was Jonathan's first Note Beast and cementing Frostoise as even more of his signature Note Beast fits with my plan to eventually give Jonathan some ice magic, so if anything I'd prefer that Gem, but having an NPC choose the Forest Gem seems better than dumping it on them.)

I'm guessing it's getting pretty late by now. In that case, start heading back to base while continuing to keep an eye out for any Notes the group may have missed. When they get back I've got one last action to do before the end of the day.
