I guess I'll go to the Volunteer Club. It looks like they're going to the local animal shelter today. That could be fun!
Somnis heads off to the Volunteer Club. There, the group goes to help groom a bunch of dogs. Somnis has fun and learns how to understand living things better.

Once she finishes up, Somnis goes over to talk to a girl she sees volunteering as well. She's washing a dog and both her and the puppy are covered in bubbles.
Katie: Animal Lover
She wears a cute little hoodie with dog paw prints on it and the hood looks like a little doggie when you wear it. Her shirt has a cute dog on it as well. Her light brown hair is carefully tucked in the hood. She's absolutely soaked.
"Hahaha! Aww, aren't you a little cutie. Fluffy fluff fluff~" She coos to the dog in a happy tone and the dog rolls around in the water happily, splashing her.
"Whoa, you made a big mess, huh?" Somnis looks around at the water all over the floor.
"Huh? Oh, yikes! You're right. I guess I got distracted by this cute little fluffy fluff fluffykins~" She plays with the dog, rubbing its belly. "You're so cute. You so cute! Cute cutie cute cute!"
"Um. Do you...do you need some help with finishing your work?"
"Cute little snugglemuffin doggiedog." She seems oblivious to Somnis' presence.
"Uh...Um...I'll help you out, I guess." Somnis begins to handle the grooming of the dog the girl is talking to. "So what's your name?"
"I'm Katie." The two rinse off the dog together, getting all the bubbles off of it. "I just love doggies so much! Sometimes I get distracted though. They're just all so cute I can't help myself!"
"Haha, I know the feeling. I think they're all really cute too. I'm actually planning on getting a dog soon."
"Oh, really!? I love doggies, but I don't have one. What's your doggie's name?"
"Well, like I said, I don't have it yet, so I dunno. But it will be exciting once I do!"
"Doggies are so cute and squishy and doggie dog doggie dog doggggg~"
"I can tell you really like them. You're probably the most excited by dogs than any other person I've ever met before."
"Oh, yes. Doggie is so cute. So squishy. I love doggies. Everyone should have one! Even though I can't. Dad's allergic. Kind of a bummer, huh?"
"Yeah, kinda. That's too bad. I bet you'd be a cool owner."
"You think so?"
"Yeah. Maybe you can help me with my dog when I get it?"
She gasps excitedly. "I can?"
"Yeah! Here, let's exchange numbers! We can be friends!"
"Yay!"

Somnis looks at the time. "Oh, it's almost time to head home. It was fun hanging out with you!"
"You too, Somnis! Let's hang out again sometime soon!"
A new connection has begun to form between Somnis and Katie...
A new path has opened up. Relationship rank 1 has been reached with Katie.
Katie suddenly feels strange as Somnis walks out of the room. "Hm...that's weird. It felt like something changed. Oh well!" She shrugs and continues along.

Night
Somnis returns home and notices her neighbor outside. She's taking out the trash. Somnis waves to her and the girl waves back at first, but slowly starts to look at Somnis weirdly before shaking her head, finishing up her work, and heading back inside. Does she know Somnis or something...? Somnis heads on in her house. Her mom is working late at night once again. Looks like Somnis has the house to herself. What to do...?

A book about fishing...? Maybe I can catch a fishie.
Somnis picks up the fishing guide and begins to read it. It starts off with basics on fishing, providing a lot of information on fishing, different ways to fish, different fish to fish, and how the fish are fish. It's surprisingly educational.

Somnis finally stops reading the book after reading a few chapters, noticing it's already getting pretty late. She heads to bed for the night, excited to get her dog tomorrow."

As Somnis drifts into sleep, she has another strange dream. Once again she sees the woman in the giant flower speaking with the unknown man. The guards are not present this time. "...Other parts of this world...?"
"Yes, thirteen in all."
"And each one has someone like me?"
"Yes, a Soul Guardian. Except...the thirteenth world. The Solar Soul, the Aqua Soul, the Lightning Soul, the Flame Soul, the Forest Soul, the Sand Soul, the Sky Soul, the Shadow Soul, the Pure Soul, the Toxic Soul, the Metal Soul, and the Star Soul. The thirteenth area is special. Not like the others. It's always changing. And we can't access it. But...it can access us."
"Oh. I see. Tell me, what are these other areas like...?"
The man smiles and Somnis sees the light get brighter in the sky. The land shifts into a new place. "Tranquil forests with a great tree standing tall among the others. Small, wooden creatures live around in little villages. The black and white leaves cover the ground and fill the sky. A large, green dragon sits atop the large tree, happily greeting those that come by." The area changes again. "A tropical island where playful otters bathe in the sun. The waves crash on the shore and the palm trees sway in the breeze. Off the shore, ships can be seen. Pirate ships." The area shifts again. "A bubbling volcano where creatures of flame and lava prowl. A beautiful maiden's song rings out through the area." The area changes back to the flower filled plains. "So many beautiful places. I hope one day I can show them to the world."
"That would be lovely."
"Then they could meet you." Somnis' dream begins to fade. "Solaria..."

September 16th Friday, Cloudy
Morning
Somnis gets up, getting ready for her day. She heads off to school, spending most of her time with Katie. Unlike the other people Somnis has met, Katie actually seems to like her. Somnis is going to end up getting a big math test on Friday. Better start studying. A bad grade could get her in trouble.
Afternoon
Classes are finally over. Somnis packs up her things and thinks on what to do that afternoon. Tonight she'll be getting a dog, so she'll have to find something to do until then. All of the school's activities are available today. The library is open too. Some students go there to study after school.

I guess I should study for that test next week...
Somnis heads over to the library and spends her afternoon working on studying. She's not sure she understands even half of the material. I mean...why does she need to find the angles of theoretical triangles anyways? And what's all this garbage about inverted lines on graphs and systems of equations and math? None of it really makes much sense to her. While she struggles with studying, Julia sits nearby, reading up on flowers and ferrets for some reason. Another girl wearing glasses sits close to Somnis, writing up papers in record time. She's doing them so fast, Somnis can't help but be distracted and stare. After the unknown girl's phone rings, she checks it before heading out of the library in a rush. Wonder where she was going so fast...? She dropped something.

It's an odd note written down containing information on something. It looks like the biological study of some sort of animal. It's a dog capable of breathing fire? This is quite imaginative. That girl must be some sort of artist. Somnis puts the paper away, telling herself she'll get it to that girl the next time she sees her. Somnis then finishes up her studying so she can go home and get her dog!

Somnis returns home after school. Her mother is waiting for her in the living room, sifting through a few papers about her case. She then looks up from the papers, noticing Somnis is home. "Oh, welcome home! Ready to go get your new pet?"
"Yes!" Somnis heads with her mother out to the nearby animal shelter so they can adopt a pet. Somnis looks around at the many different animals available, but she seems drawn to the dogs. Somnis likes dogs and so does Katie! If she gets a dog, she'll have something to talk to Katie about. There are a lot of different dogs. Old, young, and multiple different breeds...

One of the cute puppies notices Somnis and runs to her, barking. A gray husky puppy. Its tail wags around happily. The puppy jumps at Somnis and tackles her to the ground to lick her face and snuggle. "Bark!"
"You're so fluffy and snuggly! Mom, I want this one!" Somnis pets the dog and it looks at her happily.
"Alright. Let's get this one then! What are you going to name him?"
"Hmm...Dogachu."
"That's an unusual name."
"I made it up! It just sort of came to me. Dogachu!" The dog barks when Somnis says Dogachu.
"Something tells me you two are going to get along pretty well." Somnis' mother smiles and the two finish up with all the necessary adoption papers and head home.
Once they get home, Somnis jumps in bed, ready to sleep. Dogachu hops up with her and snuggles up as well. As Somnis goes to sleep, she hugs Dogachu and whispers to herself. "Now I'll always have a friend..."
Somnis and Dogachu have begun to form a strong bond...
A new path has been opened. Somnis and Dogachu reach relationship level 1.

Midnight
Somnis has another mysterious dream. The woman in the flower is once again there. Solaria. Someone is sitting on her flower with her. The two guards stand at the sides. Somnis can see flower petals dancing in the air as the sun is setting. The person sitting with Solaria is difficult to see, but Somnis knows he isn't the same man from before. He has nine fox tails. "Are you sure about this?"
"Of course. I must test them somehow. How else would I do it? This way I can tell if they really are the heroes."
"But...what if they aren't? What if you die?"
"Then it's up to you, Fox. I believe in you. You have a connection with this world. Collect the souls and stop them. You are our vessel. I'm counting on you."
Fox nods. "Alright, Solaria. I will." The dream begins to fade again and Somnis wakes up to reality.

Morning
Somnis wakes up, stretching happily. Dogachu sits next to her on her bed with his tail wagging and licks her face. "Bark!"
"Good morning, Dogachu!" Somnis hops up out of bed. "I love days I can sleep in. It's the weekend, Dogachu! I have all day to do whatever I want! And today we're gonna...we're gonna..."

Let's spend some time with Dogachu!
"Let's go on a walk!"
"Bark!" Dogachu excitedly runs around Somnis as she grabs his leash. The two then walk out the door, heading to the park.
Somnis looks around at the park, admiring it. It's nice to have a beautiful, green area in the city. There are plenty of trees and some flowers. There's a fountain at the center. There are also plenty of park benches and a few lampposts. Somnis notices some kind of presidential election sign up for a lunatic in the park, hanging up on a lamppost. The guy on the picture looks sort of like the crazy pop tart guy. Somnis ignores the sign and continues to play with Dogachu.

While Somnis is playing with Dogachu, she notices a few people in the park. Her neighbor is sitting on a bench nearby on her phone. Fox is chasing around bugs with Raine. Katie is asleep in the grass...

"Bark!" A wild Butterfly has appeared!

"Wow, you're pretty good at this, Somnis!" Somnis was awarded 600 Poke! Somnis got the Tail Badge! "Here's something else too. It's some kind of ancient technology." Somnis received CD01!
Somnis, Fox, Raine, and Dogachu all stand around, facing each other afterwards. Fox looks around, kind of confused. "That was kind of weird...but your skills in catching that butterfly were amazing! You taught your dog to do that?"
Somnis proudly stands with her hands on her hips like a hero. "Yep! We make a pretty good team!"
"Bark!" Dogachu wags his fluffy tail.
Raine laughs a little. Fox looks at the butterfly Somnis caught in her net and points to it. "Can I have it? I like bugs."
"Sure! Here you go!" Somnis hands over her newly caught Butterfly to Fox with a smile.
"Yay! They're so cool! I love how all the bugs are so different. Look at them! Butterflies have pretty designs on them, but there are some bugs that are really ugly too!"
"Yeah, I kinda get it. It's like people. They're all different."
"Yeah, people! People are all really different too. It's fun to see how different they all are. Bugs AND people!" Somnis nods. "We should definitely catch more bugs together sometime, Somnis. It's really fun!"
"Definitely! I had fun too. Especially since it was like a Pokemon Battle!"
"A...what...?"
"Oh, nevermind."
Raine pokes Fox from behind. "Um...Fox, we have to go. Remember...?"
"Oh, right! See ya, Somnis! Let's hang out again!"
"Yeah! Of course!" Somnis waves as they run off. "I feel like I was almost onto something there...maybe I'm missing something though. It felt like Fox wanted to talk about something, but he didn't quite trust me enough for it yet..."
Relationship Level 2 is locked until the story is further progressed.
"Well, let's head home, Doggie."
"Bark!" Dogachu happily follows Somnis home.

I guess I should study...
Somnis grabs one of her books and starts studying. She still doesn't really get it, but at least studying is more fun with Dogachu helping!

Somnis continues to study with her dog until it becomes night. With the sun set, the moon comes out and Somnis realizes she's sitting in the dark. Dogachu fell asleep while watching her.
Night
Somnis looks up at the clock. "I guess mom's coming home late again..." She sighs. "At least I have you, Dogachu." She pokes Dogachu and he rolls over in sleep. "Or...not..." Somnis curls up in a ball. "I hate being alone..." She then gets up and checks her phone. No messages. But maybe...she can call one of her friends...?

I'll go say hi to the neighbors! ...But I don't want to leave the dog here. I'll take him with me!
Somnis picks up Dogachu and carries the sleeping dog with her out of the house. She walks over to her neighbor's house and knocks on the door. "Hey, is anyone home? I'm your new neighbor and I kinda wanted to know if maybe we could...meet...?" Somnis looks around and tries to peek in through the window. "Ummmm...Hmm." She can't get a good look inside, but the door suddenly opens. "Whoa! Hey! I'm Somnis! You're...uh...You look familiar."
"Oh, god, it's the psycho from the store."
Lisa: Tech Expert
The girl has long, light brown hair worn to the side. Her brown eyes are framed by her black glasses. She wears simple, casual clothes, sticking to a graphic tee with jeans. Somnis notices that the girl's not wearing any socks. "I'm Lisa." She shakes her head and gives out her hand for a handshake before retracting it. "On...second thought, nevermind. If you do THAT with random boys in the changing room all the time, I might be better off not touching you."
"Wha-!? No! That's not it at all! I swear it was all a big misunderstanding!"
"You wrestling a half naked boy to the ground in a changing room is a misunderstanding?" She raises an eyebrow with an accusing gaze.
"It's not like that! I was just helping him change his clothes. I'm a normal person! Really!"
Lisa's eyes drop down from Somnis face to the dog she's holding. "Why do you have a dog with you?"
"Oh, this is Dogachu. He fell asleep and I didn't want to leave him all alone at home."
"Oh." Lisa looks at Somnis, waiting for her to say something else...
"Um...Is there anything I can do to prove I'm not a complete lunatic...?"
"Probably not. But...I guess just because you're crazy doesn't mean I can't be nice."
Somnis gasps in excitement. "We can be friends!"
"I didn't say THAT. Calm down. I just said I wasn't going to be mean to you. However...If you can show me that you're not going to do anything crazy, then maybe we can be friends. Maybe."
"Hooray!" Somnis jumps excitedly and then remembers she's holding Dogachu. It looks like he's still fast asleep. She then whispers. "Yay!"
"...It's gonna be hard for you to prove you're not crazy at this rate. Well, if you ever need me, we're neighbors and you know where I work." She then whispers to herself. "Sadly, that means there's no escaping you..."
"Okay! I promise not to let you down! I can be normal! Promise!" Somnis happily heads back home.
"What a weirdo..."
The bond between Lisa and Somnis has strengthened.
A new path is forged. Lisa's relationship level increased to 1!
"...Oh, that was weird. I just got this feeling like...Hopefully it was nothing..." Lisa shakes her head. "Now I'm going crazy." She shuts the door and goes inside.

Time for another weird dream. As Somnis slept, the unknown figure in the blinding light appears. She thought these types of dreams were over. What happened to the flowery plains and the flower lady? "Hello, Somnis. I noticed you have been doing well in school and making friends quickly. But I do also want to speak with you about another matter. It is about the other world. Tonight you have encountered the one that will be your gateway to that other world. Now, whether or not you choose to actually follow through and go with her to this other world depends entirely on you. After all, I cannot make your choices for you. But should you choose to do so, I have decided to give you a helpful hint. Those rumors you heard. They're very much true. Only those that are special can reach this other world though. If you want to see for yourself, head to the graveyard tonight. Once the clock strikes midnight, you will truly begin your journey. You can avoid this as well. Don't go to the graveyard and don't wait until midnight. But remember that every action has a consequence. What will you lose from going to this other world? What will you lose by avoiding it? Well, only time will tell. Good luck." The dream fades away...

September 18th Sunday, Sunny
Somnis wakes up with Dogachu rolling around on her bed. It's another morning. No school today either. That dream was weird. Something about going to the graveyard at midnight. But dreams are just dreams. Nothing to worry about! What to do today...?
