She takes the stockings, then frowns and just tries to put the shoes on, struggling a bit. "...So. What was that last card, anyway?"

Mattea stops, then looks away.
Natsumi glances at Tai, then hops back up. She goes and stands in front of Mattea and leans in. And in. And in. Mattea glances back, then turns to stare at the personal space invader with a start. "Uh...?" Mattea asks.
Natsumi slowly reaches up and prods Mattea in the forehead. "Stop being stupid."
"Wha- WHAT?" Mattea barks.
Natsumi doesn't back off, instead jabbing her twice more. "Stop it, K?" When Mattea just blinks in stunned silence, Natsumi leans back a bit. "Don't you always just do whatever you want? So why aren't you doing it now, hmmmmm? Aw, don't tell me. The cute li'l Mattea-person is fine with stripping naked in front of a crowd, but she's too embarrassed to say sorry?"
Mattea is shocked and glances at Tai.

Tai rolls his eyes.
"Natty's right. You're being fucking dumb. So what if people laughed at you? Why the fuck shoudl you care? You're cooler than most of them will ever be. Well, you could be if you'd just stop letting whatever shitty stuff happenes in the past get in your way. Whatever happened, happened."
He lets out a sigh, thankful for Natsumi's assistance. "Chances are you won't know Alice forever. But you two uses to be friends. Do you really want to hold a dumbass grudge against your friend forever? If so, then that's not 'winning' or even being spiteful or petty. It's just being stupid. So grow the fuck up and actually try to reconnect."
He looks a bit weary, not being used to giving pep talks, at least not this kind. He taps his fingers on the ground and tries to play it off.

Natsumi smiles and pats her head.
"What... are you doing?" Mattea asks.
"I dunno. Patting you."
"Why...?"
"I dunno. You looked like you needed it."
"I..." Mattea looks over to you. "Is she... always like this, or did she have a little too much to drink?"
"It can be both!" Natsumi laughs. "Tai, you should try this. Her hair's so soft..."

"Hm. If I'm not mistaken it also has to do with... choices? And healing. Healing would be nice..." She stares at her hand and clenches it a few times, wincing. She quickly grabs her hand with the other and clumsily tries to hide it. She clears her throat, puts on a small smile, and lets out a small laugh, even with her eyes still damp. "'There's easier ways to see you naked,' huh?"

She smiles gently. "Perhaps we should focus on the healing aspect of the card, and take things one step at a time. See where that takes us in the future, hm?"
She looks back out over the road and shakes her head. "My, my... If my father could see me now, royalty sitting on a roadside curb at night with no adults around... He'd get so furious he'd probably explode like a dying star. I don't get to have these kinds of experiences at home. This may seem weird to you, Alice dear, but I treasure all new experiences. Even sitting on the curb with a good friend."

"Yeah we got lemonade" Floyd says grabbing a pitcher from the fridge he pours a glass "Yeah for me mom was the "asshole" he adds tugging on his sleeve unconsciously in the process "You ever want to talk about that kind of stuff I'm around doesn't exactly make for fun conversation but, well we gotta make the best of it" he says flashing Laura a comforting smile as he sets down her drink and scampers back off to the kitchen.

"I can sympathize... though it sounds like your father is far worse than Mother. She used to keep me on a much shorter leash. I'm surprised she's not tightened up again, considering." A large car turns down the otherwise empty street and rolls to a stop in front of you. Alice starts struggling to get up. "Care for a ride home?"
Tai
"Natsumi is Natsumi, and Natsumi is wasted," Mattea says.
"Hey! I am... a bit tipsy, yes, but I am not 'wasted,' thank you." Natsumi continues to pat Mattea.
"Uh-huh. Hey, see if you can stand on one foot for me?"
Natsumi complies, pulling it off without any difficulty. She hops from one foot to the other, turns, and lets herself fall gracefully into Mattea's lap with a giggle.
"Huh. Guess I was wrong. And I was going to shove you in my dad's room to sleep it off... Still probably best you stay the night." Mattea shrugs, scoops Natsumi into her arms, and stands up. She walks over and drops her into Tai's lap. "Here, hold this while I make sure the bed's ready."
As Mattea walks off, Natsumi sits in your lap and giggles quietly. Once she leaves the room, she gets a bit more serious. "Do you think Nora knows about the otherworld stuff? That stuff sounded really specific..."

Laura drains the lemonade in one shot. "Eh. Dad died the other day. I haven't really gotten to talk to anyone about it, but I don't know that I really want to, either. Dad wasn't just completely out of my life, he kinda tried to kill Mom. And left me to die. And now he's dead. And I don't... really care? I'm actually kinda surprised how little I care. Is that weird?"

Tai looks at her. "Speaking of, have you talked to Leia about it? She seemed pretty fucking antsy about in her messages. I guess we have been kinda of avoiding that shit though. Or at least I have." His expression is a bit troubled and serious.

Floyd drops the pot he'd just taken out of the cabinet on the floor in shock and after hastily putting it in the sink takes a seat by Laura "Well first off I'm sorry that sounds terrible.... second grief can do that it's a terrible thing and well just gets more complicated with a shitty relationship.... I'm glad you and your mom are OK at least" He says after a long moment to collect his thoughts.

Mattea comes back shortly after. "Bed's ready," she says. She looks at you still holding the half-naked Natsumi and smiles. "For Natsumi, not you, Tai. But if you're planning to stay you're welcome to share mine."
