"Oh. Well that makes sense. This is a place to loiter. I think?" Fox says. "Do you ever do stuff besides loiter?"
Sam (Afternoon)
When you get to the mall, you look around. Freya is retreating from here at maximum speeds. You notice Fox is just coming in and narrowly avoids her as they pass. Tom heads into the cafe, giving you a nod as he passes. As you look up, you notice Mareena hanging upside down from one of the upper railings. She swings herself up and disappears somewhere. Also Dewey and Karl are here.
Nora (Night)
After passing through the downpour, you find the mall is unusually crowded tonight. Not particularly surprising. On the way upstairs, you pass Avalon, Kiran, the blonde transfer student, Grant, Zack, the guy in bandages, Mattea, Jimmy, and a guy that looks like a total punk. You bump into one of the Selig sisters - Raine? leaving Mareena's shop. You pause outside the shop and share a glance with Alice. "OK, so what's the plan?" she asks.
You notice the guy with the bandages giving you some slightly suspicious looks.

"But... I like plans..." Alice says quietly as you head inside.
You find Mareena waiting, sitting on the edge of her table with her legs crossed as usual. "Good evening. Oh, Nora and Alice? To what do I owe this pleasure? Oh, and close the door, please."
Alice pulls the door shut.
"Now, how can I help you? Here for love advice? It's been a rather popular subject today."

Nora smiles. "I do believe Alice and I are doing fairly well on that subject. No, the matter we would like to speak to you about is of a more personal nature... Pertaining to yourself."
Nora takes a seat and motions for Alice. "Come have a seat, dear. We may be here a while. Now, Mareena, do you recall when you had me perform a tarot reading with your deck? Do you remember what I saw?"

Alice takes a seat beside you, staring up at Mareena. "Yes, doing a reading..."
Mareena pauses, not bothering to move from the table edge. "Yes, that does all sound vaguely familiar. It was quite flattering if I recall. What of it?"

Nora smiles. "Well, dear, I've had a good bit more time to sort through it. And with my current knowledge, I've narrowed down the possibilities to juuuust three things. Aren't you curious?"
Nora crosses her legs, smiling smugly, very comfortable. "So, Mareena, dear. Are you Hinnoh, Hinnoh's daughter, or Mercia?"

Mareena sees Nora's smug and raises her even more smug. "Nope!" She swaps her leg positions and leans forward slightly.
"That wasn't a yes-no question, Mareena. Don't be difficult," Alice says. "We're not here to start a fight or cause problems. You can just admit it."
"I mean I could but then I'd be lying. Nora had three guesses, but all wrong. Good tries, though!"
"OK, so if you were Hinoh you'd probably admit it. Which means..."
"Nope, not Mercia, either." Mareena reaches down and taps Alice on the nose. "Do you have some evidence to the contrary? Because it's much more likely I'm just an oddball that likes birds, no?"

"Because the games are so much more fun." Mareena hops up and twirls. "And your annoyed faces are adorable. You're quite the pair, really. Most importantly, the truth is rather dull compared to your guesses." She giggles to herself and whispers. "Ah, me, Mercia." She turns and dips down, putting an arm on both your and Alice's shoulders. "The only important bit is that as a half-phoenix I'm fully capable of wielding a Guardian soul. Of course, I'm not the only one at the school with that secret... Can you think of anyone, Alice?"
Alice is quiet for a moment, seemingly having accepted her fate to have an arm on her shoulder. "Somnis... knows more about the Otherworld than I'd expect. Natsumi and Buttons, too, but they don't seem as comfortable... And Somnis mentioned she knew Tia a long time ago..."
"So-o-o-o?"
"Somnis is... actually Death's granddaughter? It's not just a nickname?"
"Well I can't confirm or deny that and still pretend to be neutral, can I? But your logic is certainly sound. Nora's is close, but makes a bad assumption about Hinoh."
