Karl

You continue to observe the battle. It seems to be a total stalemate, with monsters appearing just as fast as they're being cut down, and paper monsters arriving to replace the ones that fall. The police officer appears again, unloading her revolver into a giant serpent as she retreats. She pauses a moment, spinning the chamber before firing a large, glowing-red shot into the snake's mouth. It hisses and starts collapsing like any of the smaller monsters. The officer takes a moment to catch her breath, then disappears back into the mist.

Karl

Karl sees a weird bit of plastic and some even weirder snake scales nearby, so he grabs them.

Obtained Soft Plastic x1, Reticulated Skin x2

Then he notices a large pile of cement-colored money nearby.

Karl

Karl throws some money at the pile of money. Part of the pile of money springs to life and turns into a weird money-tornado. With teeth. Some more of the money continues to lie inert. And material-y looking.

Karl

You try throwing more stuff at the weird money. The unmoving money continues to not move. The moving tornado money, though, notices you and comes flying your way, swirling and biting.

Karl

You start to move back. The money starts to swarm towards you. You start to move back faster. The money starts to advance faster. Some of the paper soldiers quickly intercept it, giving you plenty of time to escape safely.

When you get outside, you notice the fog is starting to clear up. Quickly.

Karl

You proceed to hide in a bush outside the mall. As the fog clears, you hear the sound of gunfire inside slowing down.

Karl

You wait until the gunfire stops, then poke your head into the mall.

You spot the same officer from before walk over to a vending machine, bleeding, armor broken in several places, and clearly exhausted. She takes out a dollar and slips it in, grabs the drink, then shakily makes her way to the fountain and plops down on the side to catch her breath while the paper army patrols.
