Tai wades through the crowd, his brows furrowed. He looks at the Statues of the kids, Katie and Fox.
He looks at the kid who walked into the fountain, then back the three statues.
They seem... too realistic. And those poses don't make Tai happy. It's too strange. He looks towards that weird guy, Karl.
"Hey, uh, Karl, this doesn't seem right. Do you know what's going on?"

Dewey sets his backpack containing all the supplies he brought (save for the strange key in his pocket) to the side as he goes to take a closer look as well.

You walk into the fountain as Salt-and-Pepper walks away. He collapses on the side of the fountain, takes out his phone, and starts muttering something about butts.
You go to examine the statues. You start with the two you know. You very quickly notice a small key hidden in Fox's hand. When you look more closely, you catch a glimpse of the skin under their clothes. It... is skin. Not stone. As you stare, you realize the grey stone is slowly creeping over the skin...

Karl's eyes light up.
"HOLY CRAP! THESE STATUES REPRESENT THEIR STATUS IN REAL LIFE, AND THEY'RE IN TROUBLE! THEY'RE DYING!"
Karl shoves a pop-tart down his throat.
"We need to find out where these guys are! And save them! HAS ANYONE SEEN KATIE, FOX, OR THIS OTHER GIRL ANYTIME RECENTLY?"

He turns to adress the man with the salt-and-pepper hair.

Oh... right.. He's like... that..
Tai groans. He pushes aside the crowd and makes his way to the front of the fountain. He ignores the kid on the phone and steps in to examine the statues. He notices that guy from the Occult club the other day.
The guy asks the weird haired kid a question. Tai listens for the answer as he does his own look at Katie and Fox.

There aren't any keyholes in the immediate area. And all the nearby storefronts are open. Unless he wants to try it on some of the employees only doors. While the mall's still open.
He does, however, notice a small drone crashed among the other statues that he hadn't seen before. It looks like the kind that can broadcast video in real-time too.
...At least it could before it broke on one of the statues...

He steps in the fountain and decides to examine each statue thoroughly. He takes out his phone and snaps pictures of each one from as many angles as possible. He also frisks each one in the process.
