Examine the broken drone. While there's a good chance it's just made in China but on the off chance it isn't I'd like to know about any kind of identifying logo or other evidence of where it's from.

Tai isn't sure how to proceed. There's... not a lot of clues thst he can make sense of. He barely knew the kids and he has no clue who the girl is. He doesn't even know these guys. Well, no better time for an introduction, he supposes.
He catches the other kid's gaze looking at the drone and walks over to him.
"I'm Tai. What's up with this?"he asks, gesturing to the drone.

It's a drone you could get at the nearby electronics store, probably. Or any decent hobby store. But it looks like some custom work was done on it. By someone.

Also some really minor tweaks to the guards and stuff.
New motor to make it go... higher, maybe?

"Hey, uh... Nerdy kid. And Elmo," Salt-and-pepper says. The two of you look over and realize he's talking to you. "Oh, right. I'm Kiran. Anyway, c'mere. I think we can help each other out." He glares at Tai in particular. "So long as you stop feeling up my friend, anyway."
He pulls you where the crowd won't overhear. "Alright, so... I got some friends who say they know a thing about magic. They said they managed to find some counter-curse to fix this... Probably. I mean, I trust them. So... Basically, they're getting some ingredients. They need us to hide in the mall and let them in once it's closed. Think you two can help? Just in case security busts me or something. You just need to open the eastern entrance door at midnight."

Tai ponders it for a moment. Well, this guy did find them first. Though, he did seem to be antagonizing him.

Dewey tries to find a good hiding place, but one where he can still see the fountain from in case something unexpected happens such as someone else turning into a statue or the ones already there changing in some way.

You all split up and hide throughout the mall. Dewey ducks into a clothing rack at a clothing store. Tai hides out in the bathroom. Kiran seems to just disappear.
The mall closes at 11. Security does a few sweeps, but you all manage to avoid them. Just before midnight, you gather together at the fountain. "Alright, this way..." Kiran says. He pauses to pat Somnis a few times, then heads towards the eastern entrance.
When you get to the entrance, you try to push it open. It opens, but...
Dewey
...But outside isn't... outside. It's just a pulsating wall of dark blue. Kiran reaches out and touches it, then quickly pulls his hand back. "What. The. Fuck."
Tai
...But the others start acting really weird all of a sudden. Kiran reaches out and touches the air, then pulls his hand back. "What. The. Fuck."
Karl
You see Dewey, Tai, and Kiran all just inside the mall, holding the door open.
Leia, Vincent
You arrive at the mall without incident. You wait a few minutes, since you were told the delivery needed to come after midnight. When the metaphorical clock strikes, you walk over to the specified entrance. You break out one of your keys, but notice the door is already cracked open. Strange... Even stranger is the shimmering blue wall that seems to be just inside the door.
Tai, Morgan
Alice leads you to the mall. She approaches from a smaller service entrance and pulls out a soul key of her own. She places it in the lock and clicks the door open. Inside, you expect to see some kind of maintenance hallway. Instead, you see a bright-blue... pulsating... wall-like thing just inside the door.
"You guys ready?" Tom asks.
Alice wordlessly steps inside and seems to... vanish.
