Tai says in a semi-pointed way, "I'd expect nothing less from you, of course. Though if you'd told me the play was that edgy and dark then maybe I'd have tried out. But I couldn't miss an opportunity to train to beat Freya's ass come baseball season."
In response to Natsumi he says, "This weekend works. We could also check up on that camping trip we were talking about."

Nora orders an italian sandwich and a salad, with a sweet tea.
"Dark and edgy, hm? Well, it is a musical based off a dark comedy. I've read the play once or twice myself, of course, though I'm far from an expert on it. I suppose I shall have to change that if I'm to play the leading lady. After all, for me anything short of excellence is unacceptable."
She casually flicks a bang out of her face. "Mattea dear, does our lovely director have a particular rehearsal schedule she prefers, or is rehearsal simply whenever the drama club meets?"

The two of you arrive at the mall around the same time, with Tia following after Dewey. Looking around the mall, you notice Floyd and Laura chatting by the fountain with a stack of groceries. Tai, Nora, Mattea (wearing her swimsuit for some reason), Natsumi, and Alice are having dinner in the cafe. Lisa and Vivian - Viola, Varis, whatever her name is - are in the arcade.
Tia looks at Dewey. "So, where are we going?"
Floyd
"You could, like, put them on a skateboard?" Laura suggests. "That'd be pretty rad. Wait, it's for the winner? Why'd you buy a bunch of chili ingredients for me?"
Nora, Tai
Mattea shrugs. "Assuming we follow the usual schedule, we'll meet during the usual club meetings with the occasional weekend meeting if we start falling behind."
Natsumi's eyes widen. "Oh, right, the camping! Um, I'll ask Leia if she wants to do that tomorrow night, maybe?"
"Camping, huh..." Alice mutters. "It might be nice to do something like that for a change."
"Oh, yeah. Going camping's like being in a whole other world!" Natusmi says.
"Ah... Maybe I should join you, then." Alice says. "Mattea?"
"Hm? Meh. I guess." Mattea seems less than thrilled about the idea. "Oh, but... Nora has her first day of work this weekend, doesn't she?"
Alice thinks for a moment. "Yes... If I remember right, she does. How unfortunate."

"Good idea, Natty. Leia's been pretty anxious about it, but I'd probably fucking scare her if I asked about it." Tai averts his eyes, looking a bit sad and nervous. But only for a moment.
"Anyways, Nora. Mattea been giving you a hard time? She can be pretty hard to handle. And Alice is around too, I can only imagine the torture they've put you through."

Nora shrugs, grinning slightly. "Oh, your concern is quite touching, but I'm doing just fine. Alice is lovely, and Mattea and I are quite alike in more than a few ways. If anything, I find them both quite refreshing compared to the... charming lords and ladies that frequent the parties I've been forced to attend all my life."

Dewey doesn’t even notice Mattea’s odd choice of clothing, instead fixated on a nearby map. After studying it for a moment he points to two shops.
“We should be able to get some peppermint oil, cinnamon and cayenne here for the bees. Meanwhile we can get a bucket of paint and some balloons for the invisible creature here. After that all we need is a spray bottle, some soap and water, all of which we can get from my house.”

"I don't know what those words mean, but probably?" Laura says. "But I'm not gonna lose! I've got a super-secret weapon. More than hot enough to melt anything that moves."

Tia tilts her head. "Why are you looking at a map? You could just tell me what you're looking for." She grabs you by the wrist and proceeds to drag you to a bunch of stores, some of which aren't on your list. She even manages to find you some nice deals. By the end, you end up paying way less than you expected.

Tai, Nora
Alice sighs and waves dismissively. "Fine, I'll come."
Natsumi seems a bit more hesitant. "Well... I guess last time was actually kinda fun! Let's go."
The dinner is... fine. Nothing special, really. Nora knew that American sweet tea is notoriously sweeter than England's, but she's still stunned by just how much sweeter. The soup's the best of it, except maybe the desert. Mattea intercepts the bill and leaves a nice tip, then turns to everyone. "Well, let's go!"
